Looking Back:
This is the second appearance of what has become a recurring joke in the comic, Brendan's iffy (and sometimes disastrous) aim with pokéballs. While his bad throw when saving Professor Birch actually helped, this one left him in a pretty nasty position. With his only pokémon stuck in a tree and no spare pokéballs to try and capture the poochyena with, he really doesn't have a whole lot of options. Speaking of trees, that big one that the pokéball got stuck in is horribly out of scale with the rest of the environment. But the correctly scaled trees are so short that Brendan could probably reach up and grab his pokéball even if it was stuck at the very top so a bigger tree was needed. And, when it comes down to it, the big tree is on a more more realistic scale than the normal ones, considering that your average tree (especially the kind in forests and the like) tend to be much taller than a person. |
