Looking Back:
I always loved my motion blurs. Aside from being my best early use of Photoshop filters, they add a nice anime flair to the comic. Admittedly, this joke probably should have been a Blooper Reel comic instead of a regular PV strip, but I still think it's pretty funny. I mean, those motion blurs have to come from somewhere, right? This joke was actually inspired by an episode of Dragon Ball Z. In the Majin Boo Saga, Master Roshi is pondering something with a black background behind him. Nothing too unusual since special backgrounds are the norm in anime. But then the camera zooms out to show a couple of guys holding a black mat up behind him. I think they even made a card based on that scene for the DBZ trading card game. |
