#123 Flying type?

Looking Back:
It's the mini-dex! And it's making a rare appearance in a random battle. Not long after this I decided that the mini-dex took way too long to make to use in every battle (keep in mind, I was using Paint at the time, though it'd still be rather time consuming in Photoshop) so I started saving it for special battles.
But back to the strip itself. Flying pokémon should technically be able to avoid a significant number of attacks without even trying as they can just fly high enough that physical attacks and even some ranged attacks can't hit them. However, they politely hang out on the ground (or just a few inches above it) so that their opponents can easily hit them with whatever attack they want to use. From a game design prospective it makes perfect sense. If they could avoid so many moves, flying types would be way too powerful. From a realism prospective though, it doesn't make any sense at all.
