Looking Back:
If you go strictly by the rules of the Pokémon games, you can't tell your pokémon to dodge, they just have to stand there and take the hit, unless the attacker misses. You also can't attack multiple times in a row. But that just doesn't make sense outside of a game setting. I wanted to make the battles a bit more realistic and exciting in Pebble Version. Something like the battles in the excellent Pokémon Adventures manga. At the moment it's just minor changes but the addition of the Pokémon League Advanced Rules later on in the comic (shortly after Brendan and May have their first gym battle) allow for a much more epic style of battle. |
