Looking Back:
That's a problem with pokémon battling, at least in the anime. The pokémon don't do anything in battle unless their trainer gives them the order first. That means if the trainer doesn't know the names of any attacks, the pokémon can't do much of anything. Fortunately for Brendan, torchic is smart enough to take things into its own hands, er claws. It worked too, although scratching the zigzagoon instead of Brendan would have made more sense strategically. Torchic must not like rookie trainers much. Also, before you say anything I know that torchic looks really bad in panel 3. Let's just say that rotating things in MS Paint is a real pain unless you stick to 90 degree angles. |
