| Looking Back: Magikarp is an infamously useless pokémon prior to evolving. One of the main reasons is that, at first, the only move it knows is splash, which literally does nothing. As such, facing it in battle is a cinch since it can't actually do any damage. At least at lower levels. If you level it up enough it can learn tackle. Which is still pretty pathetic, especially given magikarp's lousy stats, but it's something. |
