#28 Repeating Dialogue
First Comic Previous Comic Next Comic Today's Comic
Looking Back:
In the game when Professor Birch asks if you'd go look for his kid, you can actually choose yes or no. However, if you say no he says the line from panel 2 and you're given another yes or no choice. If you say no again the dialogue will repeat, and repeat, and repeat until you finally say yes. I really hate it when they do that in videogames. I mean, if they're going to force you to do it either way why bother giving you the choice at all? Especially when it's so blatantly obvious that what you say doesn't make any difference to the game. I mean, it's important to make the player believe that he's in control but there are much better ways to do it.
