And Brendan and May's relationships deepens just a little. I like to space strips like this here and there throughout the comic, showing how they've progressed from their early days as somewhat reluctant partners to friends and eventually something more. But Rome wasn't built in a day and neither are strong relationships. Trust, respect, true friendship, romance... They take time to grow and develop. Having Brendan and May automatically become a great team or a couple wouldn't do much for their believability as characters. Of course, Pebble Version isn't a comic that takes itself too seriously, but I still like to keep my characters at least somewhat grounded in reality. |
