Looking Back:
Brendan's father Norman is the a gym leader who makes his first appearance a little later in the comic. However, despite his father's skills, Brendan knows very little about pokémon and battling. Although it isn't talked about much in the comic, Norman was always too busy with his own stuff to spend much time with Brendan. So, despite his family, Brendan is coming into the whole pokémon experience as a complete novice. This comic also shows torchic's favorite method of transportation, riding on Brendan's head. |
