Looking Back:
Torchic obviously doesn't like being in its pokéball. Or maybe it just doesn't like taking orders from the Professor. The flames in panel three actually look pretty good for this point in the comic. If you want to get picky, although torchic is a fire pokémon, it doesn't know any fire attacks when you first get it and doesn't learn one until it gains several levels. And that attack is ember, not flame thrower, which is what it's using here. But torchic never actually uses it in battle, just to burn people. I think it's ok to bend the rules a bit for comedy, as long as you don't overdue it. |
