| Looking Back: I tried putting some grass both behind of and in front of Brendan and May in this strip. This made it even harder than before to rearrange stuff if I didn't get the positions right the first time so I had to be very careful when positioning my sprites. If you've read all the way through the archives you'll notice that I use this zoomed in perspective less and less as the comic goes on. There are a couple reasons for that. First off, I can't fit very much in a panel when it's zoomed in this far. The second reason has to do with the way Photoshop resizes stuff. Long story short, the defaults weren't designed with sprites in mind so it requires a couple extra steps to resize them correctly so between that and the first reason I usually don't bother. When it comes down to it, luck did play a roll in Brendan's victory. Fortunately for him, he's a fast learner. |
