And we have the first HM. HMs differ from TMs in a few key ways. First off, is that you can use them as many times as you want (at least until Black/White when they changed TMs to unlimited use as well). HM moves can also be used outside of battle for special effects (though a handful of TM moves are the same), most of which let you access previously unreachable parks of the world. HM moves also can't be forgotten normally...but that's a subject for another time...
