Looking Back:
Great balls may beat pokéballs, but they're still not all that good. Add that to May's previously established bad luck when it comes to catching pokémon, and you have this strip. The balls's blur in panel 3 looks a bit odd, doesn't it? I experimented with a lot of different ways to do motion blurs for things like flying pokéballs in the early days of the strip, before finally finding one I really liked and standardizing it. Someday, I'd kind of like to redo these old strips and use all the newer sprites and techniques to make them look better, but that would be a pretty significant undertaking. |
