#110 Legendary clash
First Comic Previous Comic Next Comic Today's Comic
Looking Back:
I was trying out a new filter effect in this strip (at that time, I could only throw a handful of Photoshop filters over the strips I made in Paint), which is why everything has that lined blur look to it. It was originally supposed to represent the wind since they're fighting way up in the air and all but, thinking about it now, I think it makes more sense as a disturbance caused by mew and mewtwo's clashing auras. The circles around the two are supposed to represent their auras as well. Guess it wasn't horrible for Paint but I like the glow effect I use for mew in Photoshop a whole lot better. So, time to explain what the heck is going on. First off, mew and mewtwo are both using psywave, canceling each other out. Next, sableye sneaks up and hits mew with a shadow ball from behind. In panel three, mew counters by nailing sableye with a sky attack and then strikes mewtwo with mega horn in panel four.
If you know a lot about pokémon, you're probably wondering how mew knows mega horn since it doesn't learn it normally and there aren't any TMs that teach it. Well, that actually ties into something I have planned for Pebble Version later on. But I'm not gonna give it away here so you'll just have to wait and see.
