I had actually been giving this thought since I proposed it way back when... and I figured it would be a bad idea to start in the Grand Line. Especially as far in as Jaya - after Arabasta, if you skip Skypiea, which would be logical as it's so hard to get to, you're dangerously close to the New World. So I was going to ask if the interested parties would prefer starting in East Blue, where Luffy is from, and going to the same islands he did... or going through, say, South Blue, where we'd have to make up all the islands as we go. Which could be more fun, but we're not exactly Oda, and it just wouldn't be One Piece without goofy villains liek Buggy and Bon Clay. There's also the multiple paths you could take to get through the Grand Line, keeping in mind that All Roads Lead to Raftel...
And there's the issue of Devil's Fruit. It takes between 50 and 80 years for a Devil's Fruit to grow, which is why there haven't been any repeats. So if we wanted to set it in the age of the pirates... we'd have to either avoid all currently in use Devil's Fruit and make our own (and hope Oda-sensei doesn't introduce a similar one in the future) or pretend Luffy and all his acquaintances don't exist and never ate their Akuma no mi. Or we could go fifty years into the future, but I'd rather not have to do any predicting on how One Piece is going to end.

hmm, I say we start at South Blue. As for the Devil Fruit thing, one person will get it, and it will be random, and they will be designed by me and silver, if he dosn't mind. Like I said silver, Luffy & co. are in Jaya, looking for a way to get to Skypiea, not us.

I certainly don't mind coming up with a few Devil's Fruits; I already had several ideas, even (I appoligize in advance to whoever gets the Mushi Mushi no mi: Model Inomushi. Which is basically Bug Bug fruit: Model Caterpillar XD). Actually, if you don't mind... I'd rather take complete control of the Devil's Fruit Creation. Having only seen up to episode 144, you wouldn't know about the Devil's Fruit that appear later on. I'm also willing to bet you don't know enough Japanese to name them propperly. I mean, they're not all Japanese (Bomu Bomu no mi FTW!) but they're all composed of two repeating kana, which I'd like to keep true to.

There's North Blue, South Blue, East Blue, West Blue, and according to Sanji, Zeff, and the old man from the post-Enies Lobby Fillers, All Blue. All of them renamed by 4kids, I believe. But I've already established that we're not going to talk about 4kids...

yes silver, your ar granted the right to take full controll of the Devil fruit thing. heck you can have one if you want to. also, it will probably be up tomarrow because of 2 things.
1) I need to work out the set up thing which will take a while
2) I need to know if anyone else is interested. not that your not enough silver, its just that two people an RP does not make.

2. We could try to convince Poik to join... If all else fails, we can always have more than one character each. Four people to start, if we each have 2, that's eight, which is how many Strawhats there are currently. Hopefully it will be nine after Thriller Bark... dang it, Oda-sensei! Can't you just tell us if he's going to stay or not?
3. On that note, should you decide to read the manga to avoid spoilers like that one, watch the Laboon arc before starting Thriller Bark. Only two episodes, I believe. Two incredibly important episodes that 4kids skipped for no other reason than hurrying the plot along. Ha! If only they knew...

Oh yes, and one thing I seem to have failed to adress... there aren't any continents in the world of One Piece. Not really, at least. The closest thing is the Red Line - the moutain range that runs all the way around the world, dividing the East from the West. Since it's nothing but mountains, no one really lives there... but it's the only way to get into the Grand Line from one of the other seas, since getting through the Calm Belt is impossible. (Unless you're a marine and you have a ship with- ooh, that's a apoiler, isn't it...)
Aside from that, the world is composed completely of islands. Some are fairly large - Arabasta, for example - but none worthy of being called a continent.

I actually wouldn't mind joining a One Piece RP...but I don't know if I'm far enough in. I haven't see all that far in the anime (just through the Captain Kuro arc) but I'm totally up to date on the US manga releases... Which is just about at the end of the Drum Island arc. The anime has been on my 'to watch' list but there's a whole lot of other things I wanted to watch too and since I had the manga and all I figured it could wait till I got caught up on those. Plus I don't like downloading liscensed stuff, although I have much less of an issue with that when 4Kids is the one dubbing it.
