I made it on the first try, too... Thanks to Mori, Fran, and a whole lot of Full Restore.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not
exaggerate the importance of this fact enough,
regardless of how often people ignore it.

use a dark type pokemon with a dark type move, like wevile.

Alakazam has lousy DEF so a pokemon with good ATK can one shot it with a strong enough physical attack.

Eh... my advise is just level up the Pokemon you've got and it shouldn't be a problem. Most of my Pokemon were about level 60 before I even thought about challenging the Elite four...

Hee hee. Mine were mid 40's first try and afew levels higher the 2nd try and just managed to squeek in victory on the Champian.
