Heso! And everyone thinks I give Cheesey a hard time...
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Heso!
EDIT: While I was at it I changed my avatar. Check it out! Monkey D. Luffy!
That is IT! I'm making it my life's mission to discontinue the use of this common grammatical error. And I'll do it the way my English teacher prevented the missplling of 'definitely' - putting it somewhere you have to look at ALL THE TIME! ...No, she didn't put it in her signature. She just put it on the white board.Gardialvour wrote: I would of

Hi.
Gardialvoir does have a point Silver. Diffrent parts of the country have dialects (sp forgive me) that isn't always proper english that they grew up hearing and saying. So it's not his fault for some things. My brother gets that same thing mixed up all the time. Heck, I probably do time to time.
Not to mention I think my area gets much and many mixed up.

Heso! This is exactly my point. A lot of people make the mistake. I've corrected people many, many times, and I have said that particular grammatical error annoys me more than most others, but people continue to make it anyway. Because they grew up hearing it and saying it. It'll never stop, because most people don't realize it's wrong. So I'm stepping up. My theory is that I can undo those years of damage by making you see the correct version after every post I make, and considering I'm the top poster, that would be a lot.Neo Zanther wrote:Gardialvoir does have a point Silver. Also, 'should of' and such are not dialects. They're errors that school systems don't bother to correct. And Neo, you've made the mistake more than pretty much any one else here. Just saying.
Depending on how well this works out, I may have to address other common errors in grammar in my signature... coming soon: The difference between 'less' and 'fewer'! How your local grocery store is most likely brainwashing you!

silver, i apoligize for my out burst. but where I come from, I would have is correct grammar simply because, as you said, we grew up with it all our lives. just be glad I didn't say 'I would like to have'
P.S. your signature brainwashing is futile because if we saw it once, we just ignore it.

I'm gone for two days and people are trying to give the impretion that they're singing, even though there's no vocals in text.
Anyway, listen everyone!
Celebifly is a mother!
of 5 baby turkies! Well, 4 of them love me, 1 kinda doesn't like me ^^; But I've trained them well! When I put my hand into the pen, they all come running to it! Then they peck at it, looking for food....
Oh man, I can't wait till they become free range when they follow me around....and do my bidding. Bwahahahaha....
They're techically Mike's dads (he bought them) but I care for them ^_^
