ROM 2: Zodiac Legends

"I don't like this..."

"What are you talking about?"

"Jeff and Shauni! They should be here! And you know where they went? That can't be good."

"Well, there's definitely something wrong about this..."

"We've got the sword, there's nothing to worry about. No Zodiac Legend stands a chance."

"That's not what I'm talking about, what if they don't come back?"

"Good point... maybe we should look for them."

"There's always the possibility that a Zodiac Legend will attack them."

"And it's taken you this long to figure that out... If you people lack common sense maybe I should be the hero!"

"Do you have a fancy sword?"

"Well, no..."

"And look who does. Meaning I'M the hero."

"Fudge Crackers..."

shauni and Jeff emerged in a darkned place, with only one small point of light a could berly been seen
"where are we Jeff?" she asked him
He was stubbleing around, mubbleling random words, shauni slowly reched out towards him, her hand sloly heading to his shoulder, but he dramaticaly turned round, making her jump so much she fell backwards to the floor
Jeffs eyes where as black as the place they had found themself

"Dead by darn......" he spoke in an frightoning voice, when he suddenly passed out and fell to the floor

"Jeff!" she yelled, running over to him, shre placed her arms around his body, proping him up. He was bitterly cold......

"Jeff, please.....dont leave me alone here" she begged him as tears ran from her eyes
"This place is so cold....it reminds me of the before, Jeff, you didnt know this, but when you left with the prince that day, I had a nightmare, it was a place like this, and I was alone....and then there was blinding light, I was so afraid....."
She whiped the tears from her face "It was what was before ROM for me, the cold blackness of the before realm, the place that data is created, it was where i was born....then the blinding light, this world...."
She began to strock his face "I remebred what it was like before I came to ROM, the world of Data, its not this horried place, but it was so cod, and so lonly...please Jeff, dont leave me alone in the dark again..."
A menising augh suddenly came from the darkness
"what a gut renchingly heartfelt story freak"

Shauni stood up with a start and looked around her "Who are you!" she yelled

A figure appred before her, it was the zodiac virgo

shauni quickly pulled out Pirogoth and threw it to summon, but the monster remained in its card
"whattt??" she yelled in a hoffired voice
Virgo began to laugh "hahahah! Cards dont work here in Station"
"Station? You mean rthis dark realm?"
Virgo noded "So young one, how will you battle me and you soul mate?"
shauni quickly tured to face Jeff, he had stood up
she tured to push him away, but he overpowered her, and then bit her on the neck, she pulled herself away, he skin torn on his teeth. she fell to the floor, blood pouring out of her neck
"Your purge was temoray child....now die!"
she suddenly jumped up into action, drawing two daggers from her back, slashing virgo, falling it in one hit

JEff pulled back
Virgo wasnt finshed, it stood up again, she began to fight it, while Jeff mealy watched........

*Jeff stood there, in a catatonic state as Shauni battled Virgo. Although she was trying her hardest, it was to no avail. Virgo was too powerful. As he prepared to lay down the final blow, Jeff snapped out of his daze.*

"Bright eyes!"

"Argh... I can't see. How did you use a monster's attack?"

"The last time I was here I tried to summon bubble. It backfired and cause a disruption in the data. Now I am able to use his attacks anytime I want to. So if you're looking for a fight, you've found one!"

"You'll regret this."

"I regret nothing. Now Luna's Song!"

*Jeff sang a little tune and completly healed Shauni.*

shauni stood up and smiled "Your back!"
"I dont know how long for, I suggest we finish it quickly before I freak out again...."shauni nodded "Alright..."
"you cant win!"
"I think we can!"
shauni ran towards Virgo and yelled as she jumped intp the air "Check out what Yomico tought me whie you where away!"

"Slice and Dice!" she yelled as she struck the monster with a dual dagger swipe, each dagger going a speart way
"Impressive!"

"Its no enought!" the uninjured virgo aughed, noking shauni back to the floor
"Now its my turn to show of!"

"Virtigo!"
shauni suddenly went flying into the air
"Ahhhhh!"

"Shauni!"
she was then prepelled and hit a soid surface, falling to the floor, out cold

Virgo laughed again
"Now its your turn.....Die!"

*Virgo swings his claw towards Jeff, slashing him.*

"ngh... Damn... You'll never stop me."

"What are you going to do about it?"

???: "Nothing, but I will!"

"Vormav? What are you doing here?"

Vormav: "I came to tell you that he needs you, right away! Leave these two for me."

"Grr... very well."

*Virgo teleports away.*

Vormav: "Here, take this. You'll know what to do with it when the time comes."

*Vormav hands Jeff a bladeless hilt. Vormav teleports away.*

"Shauni..."

*Virgo teleports back.*

"Dammit! I'll kill him! But first..."

*Virgo attacks Shauni, but Jeff steps between them and swings the hilt towards Virgo.*

"Shauni's Savior!"

*Jeff's Sword glowed heavily as it ripped right through Virgo.*

"What the..."

*Jeff picks up the Virgo Shard and tends to Shauni's wounds.*

"What is this thing?"

((Hey! I need the Zodiac shards! And FYI, Virgo is supposed to be a girl. Hey... I just got an idea... This might seem a bit strange at first but don't screw it up, ok? I have some special plans for this new character I'm adding. And Jeff, keep the Virgo shard for now, it's part of my idea.))

"Silver, David, go pick up Yomico in Onett and meet me at Codo's hut. Maybe if we all put our heads together we can figure something out." *The two nod and fly off in another direction.*

*As he neared Codo's hut Josiah spotted a young woman running as if her very life depended on it. Behind her was a sparkling blue and yellow ram. It shot a blast of electricity, knocking the girl to the ground.*

"Capricorn!" *Josiah took Night Wing to the ground and blocked Capricorn's next attack with his sword.* "I'm not going to let you hurt anyone! Mogalmel, Quaker!"

"Fool, you don't know what you're interferring with." *Capricorn jumped out of the way, evading the attack.* "It's not time for our battle yet." *He vanished in a flash of light.*

"The heck was that about?" *Josiah turned to the girl. She was almost as tall as him with long blonde hair and deep green eyes. Her pants and shirt were simple and entirely white.* "You ok?"

"Thank you." *She smiled sadly.* "But you shouldn't have risked yourself. Sooner or later they'll get me. I can't run forever."

"The Zodiac Legends are after you? Why? Who are you?"

"I'm sorry but that is something I cannot tell you. Please, leave me before they return. I don't want to endanger you further."

"Hey, don't worry. My friends and I have already defeated some of them. You'll be safe with us."

"You are the ones who defeated Cancer, Gemini, and the others?"

"Yeah, and we'll take care of the rest too. Come on." *He grabbed her hand.* "Codo's hut is right nearby and I need to meet Silver and David there."

*The girl followed silently but a small smile appeared on her worried face.*

*Shauni wakes up.*

"Hey there sleepy-head."

"..."

"What's wrong?"

"You saved my life again. I was useless."

"Even if that were true, which it's not, I still love you."

"That attack you did..."

"I remember seeing this sword in some ancient texts. It's called the 'Save the Queen' sword. Apparently it was once wielded by the premier knight of a kingdom. It is said that he saved the queen's life with that sword. The attack itself is what is known as a 'Holy Sword' technique. It's can only be used by those who have extremly high faith in something. For me that faith lies in you. I would give my life for you."

"Jeff..."

"Don't say anything. Let's just enjoy the peace and quiet. *YAWN* I could use a nap."

"Take it easy, Jeff. You work yourself too hard. ^_^ "

"Yeah I know..."

*In a matter of seconds Jeff falls asleep. Shauni lies down and eventaully dozes of too.*

END OF CHAPTER 5-A

*Josiah and the unnamed girl arrived at Codo's hut to find Silver, David, Codo, and Yomico waiting for them.*

"Who's that?" *Silver immediatly spotted the girl.*

"She was being attacked by one of the Zodiac Legends. I chased it away but she needs some protection so I figured we could keep an eye on her."

"So will someone tell me exactly what's going on?" *Yomico was waiting impatiently by the door.* "And where's Shauni?"

*The group headed inside and filled Codo and Yomico in on the current events.*

"So, Moen is still alive..." *Codo mumured.*

"Yeah but it's not him and the Zodiac Legends we're worried about. We need to find Jeff and Shauni!"

"No creature in this world could do to Jeff what you have described. However, I seem to remember reading an ancient text that talked about another realm, a world of darkness and evil. Perhaps that has something to do with his sudden change."

"So what can we do about it?"

"For now I believe the best thing you can do is to continue fighting Moen's minions. These Zodiac Legends are a problem of their own. Meanwhile, I'll see what information I can find on the dark world."

"I'll stay and help you. I need to do something to help Shauni."

"Ok then! Let's go kick those Zodiac guys butts!"

*The group said goodbye to Codo and Yomico and headed back outside. Throughtout the conversation the girl Josiah had found remained strangely silent but now she spoke.*

"You should all stop now while you still can. The Zodiac Legends have powers greater than you know and Moen is far stronger and even that is only the beginning. You are good people, I don't want to see you hurt."

"And how do you know so much?" *David asked suspiciously. After what had happened with Jeff, everyone was rather on edge.* "I may not want to fight but people need my help so I won't give up!"

"I see you that you won't change you minds." *She sighed sadly.* "If you stay with me the Zodiac Legends will come. If you're sure you want this I will tell you why." *The others nodded.* "I am Virgo."

"Holy fudgecrackers!" *Everyone grabbed for their cards and weapons.

"But I am not here to fight you. Please, hear me out." *Josiah nodded for the others to stand down but they remained alert.* "When Moen created the Zodiac Legends he used data from another game that had been pulled here but the Virgo data was incomplete so he combined it with that of another, a girl named Alma who was from the same game as the Zodiac monsters. But he created the Zodiac Legends to be evil weapons of destruction, Alma's good nature faught against that and gave Virgo a split persona. I am the Virgo that still holds the true essence of Alma's spirit and the good that the Zodiac was supposed to be. The other Virgo, the one powered by the Zodiac shard, can not be complete either in mind or power without me. That's why I ran and why they chase me. If you three think you have a chance to stop Moen's evil than I will do my best to help."

*The others looked at eachother for a long moment, reaching a silent agreement.*

"Ok." *Josiah held out his hand.* "Welcome to the team."

"Can we head to Vahallo next?" *David asked as they prepared to fly off.* "We could use a rest and I want to make sure everything is ok." *The others agreed and they set off.*

"I think we need to get out of here. I feel completly purged of all evil after that 'Holy Sword' attack."

"But, which way is out? I can barely see my hand in front of my face with all this mist."

"Don't worry, we'll find the exit."

*All of a sudden several figures appeared from behind the mist.*

"Who the hell are you?"

"Don't you remember us? You killed us. Now we'll kill you!"

*Out of the shadows appeared the zombies of Cancer, Taurus, and Scorpio.*

"Damn... I guess we fight."

"I dunno. Aren't we supposed to destroy the Zodiac Legend dudes?"

"Well this one's on our side! She's the good half."

Jeff (Age 22)
Skills: Ingenuity, Kojimo, Monster Magic*, Holy Sword*

Dislikes: Ignorance, Arrogance, Prat-Falls, The 'Zodiac Legends'
Bio: Since his first adventure two years ago, Jeff has learned the ancient art of Kojimo from Prince Amhal. His monsters had fused together to form a 'rainbow' monster; the first of it's kind. He has also learned about the history of the realm and the long forgotten monsters of old. One story that peaked his interest was the 'Zodiac Legends' story. It spoke of brave warriors who banished an ancient evil. He decided to leave Amhal and go on a journey to travel the world when he ran into an old friend. Their meeting would spark a series of events that would change him forever. After defeating the first 'Zodiac Legend', Jeff gained the 'Zodiac Sword' ability. With each 'Zodiac Legend' defeated, Jeff gained a new ability. However, after a trip to the 'Dark World', Jeff became filled with evil. He was soon purged of most of the evil. After killing Felix, Jeff fled to the 'Dark World'. Having given his sword to Josiah, Jeff lost his Zodiac sword ability. However a meeting with Vormav caused him to learn a few 'Holy Sword' techniques. He's also lost his only monster, bubble in the dark world. All that's left of him are Jeff's memories; and a few attacks. That's right Jeff has the ability to use monster attacks in battle. None of them do any damage; but they are very good for supporting his friends.

*JEFF'S SPECIAL SKILLS

[s]Zodiac Sword: Uses the zodiac shards to perform special attacks with his sword.[/s]
Monster Magic: Uses monster attacks to aid his friends in battle. All support magic.
Holy Sword: Jeff uses his sword to strike down his foes with holy attacks. The stregnth of the attacks is based on his faith in Shauni.

*The group had arrived at the beach. They noticed the ocean was frozen, the sand black.*
"W-what has happened...?"
*Some yards away were spikes of ice sticking out from the ground. When the group got closer they noticed someone was inside. A blone girl in a bathing suit was frozen in ice. Others just like her were all around them.*
"Who would do this?"
"The Zodiacs, of course!"
"No, this is the work of someone else."
"Why? Why did I leave? This is all my fault..."
"No! This is all my doing!
*The group turned to see the horrible beast. It was a black creature with the apperence of a devil. The beast had buldging biceps and was eight feet tall. A white circle was on its chest. And a giant, blue sword was on its back.*
"I love seeing people in pain!"

*Meanwhile in the 'Dark World'*

"You can't stop all three of us! Especially now that you don't have your precious sword."

"This sword is more precious then you'll ever know. Thunder Tear!"

*Jeff's sword was brimming with electricity as he slashed Cancer in two.*

"Heh heh heh... I'm a zombie now. You cannot kill me!"

"Thanks for the tip! Luna's song!"

*As Jeff begins to sing, the 'Zodiac Zombies' begin to scream in pain. Soon all three of them disappear.*

"What just happened?"

"He said it himself. He's a zombie. Undead creatures are hurt by healing spells."

"Oh. I see. You have a lovely singing voice, by the way."

"Thanks."

*All of a sudden a hot breeze came rushing towards them. The entire surrounding area became engulfed in flames.*

"What's happening?"

*A large black creature with the apperence of a devil appeared. The beast had buldging biceps and was eight feet tall. A white circle was on its chest. It had a giant, red sword was on its back.*

"Who are you?"

*The creature did not respond. He just drew his sword. Jeff quickly followed suit.*
