Okay, okay, okay. Shadow's okay and all.....but....I think he should have a different name. He should be "Emo the Hedgehog". Or maybe "Angsty the Hedgehog".BionicleMandi121 wrote:What kind of crowd do you hang out with? I only know one person who hates him, and that's only because I apparently talked about him too much. Shadow is teh awesome. :D No one in that universe can be cooler. Plus, his color scheme rocks. He was my favorite character before I even got into the series because of just that (I now like him for far more that just his color scheme, but it's always a bonus).Atma wrote: THANK YOU! Someone on the interweb who DOESN'T hate Shadow for no reason. Mandi is my saviour now! :)
....I'm going to recieve so much hate for saying that. But while I don't mind Shadow, he's fine and dandy; he's just a bit emo for my taste.

Konbanwa!
He's not emo (and according to Flora, we've got the stereotypes for "emo" and "goth" mixed up, and therefore he CAN'T be emo if emo people are simply people who like emo music), though I won't really deny the angsty bit . But give him some credit; he has a very good reason to be the way he is. How'd you feel if, a week after you were "born," your best friend got shot and killed while trying to save you from government military forces? How about helping to save the world from destruction, several times over, and yet still viewed as a threat? Treated with suspicion everywhere you go? And above all, discover that you were created as a secret weapon for a race of evil aliens? Oh yes, and you're also immortal and eternally youthful, forced to watch as your friends grow old and die as the years go by.
I'll stop before I start ranting in earnest. But in my opinion, Shadow has very good reason to be angsty (or emo, if you insist).
Then again, I tend to like dark characters. That would help too. And, uh, I hope I don't make anyone hate me for my long-winded post. I'm well-aware Shadow's just a piece of computer coding. But I usually defend (as well as I can) any of my favorite characters. So, uh, yeah, I'll go over there in the corner and be quiet now.

Hi! Only a few days left before my standing in the First Chapters contest is frozen (see the thread I made on this board), hope it finishes high.
Disapointingly, I don't get an interview for the JET Program. Not sure why, since I just got a generic e-mail and they refuse to give reasions even if you ask. Could have been any number of things, even a mistake. However, I did some research on other English teaching programs in Japan, some of which seem fairly comparable to JET. My current plan to to got to GDC in March, hand out my resume and portfolio and see what happens. If I don't get a "dream job" offer I'll apply to some of those other programs.

Er... Jambo! I don't necessarily have anything against Shadow... as Stevenson said, he's just kind of an angsty emo jerk (And I do believe 'emo' has multiple definitions, one of which is 'emotional', basically meaning depressed in this instance, which is the one in use here). And there are other characters that are NOT angsty emo jerks. Like Tails and Knuckles. Tails and Knuckles also don't abuse their right to bear arms, therefore by comparison, they are cool and Shadow is not.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Not counting Silver and Stevenson, the crowd I hang out with are the hypocritical crowd of Sonic fanbois who hate Shadow simply because he has a dark past that haunts him and because he's not afraid to use guns. Oh! But it's totally different when these same individuals go ahead and make their own fan characters who pretty much have alot in common with Shadow except for species, and form of birth. Not to mention these same people all desire to lick Sasuke Uchiha's boots. And he's waaaaay more emo than Shadow.BionicleMandi121 wrote:

Besides. Shadow is a registered superhero for the government whereas Sonic has yet to register. That proves Shadow cares about Liberty and Freedom. :P
Hi! I have no real problem with Shadow but I'm not to happy when any Sonic character has to do something besides running really fast and jumping onto robots. Digging for emeralds? Piloting robots? Shooting things? They usually aren't that much fun. Sonic games should be all about the speed. Aside from that Sonic in the real world (like the 3D games have been) is just weird.

Yeah, right...cares about freedom....wasn't Rouge also with the government? For the sole purpose of stealing things? But hey, whatever.
And yes, Sasuke sucks too.
Aloha! I thought last semester was bad....school's really crunching down on me this year, which is why I haven't been on as much. This semeseter I get AP World History, Chemistry, Pre-Calculus, and Latin 2 all at the same time....blerg.

Nieve dia! Yuki hi! SNOOOOOW DAAAAAAY! I never thought we'd have one again; you've no idea just how pleasant a surprise it is to find that you've been over-estimating global warming! And the snow plows!
So... jambo. This is the first time in three years we've had an actual snow day, not just a stupid delayed opening. Eh, I wouldn't have gone to school anyway. You couldn't make me. Not when there's four inches of snow to frolic in.

Hi! What do you mean I never... Oops...
Guess with everything that was going on I kinda spaced it. Uh, I'll do that soon. Like, some time this week...
About Sonic... Pre Sonic Adventure, Sonic lived on a planet called Mobius. Heck, if you watch the Sonic X anime (which covers the events of Adventure, Adventure 2, and Heroes) the first story arc actually shows how Sonic and friends get transported from Mobius to Earth.

Nooo. I'm going by how the games actually tell it. Pre SA, Sonic was STILL born, raised, and turned Super on earth. Cartoons and comics are usually alternate adaptations of the games, and don't necessarily count as canon.Josiah wrote:About Sonic... Pre Sonic Adventure, Sonic lived on a planet called Mobius.
