"You've got to be kidding me!

"Hotshot, settle do-"

"I mean come on! Power!? I knocked the stupid thing down in one shot! Agility? I was agile! Technique and Honor? What kind of stupid monkey did they put on the rating system!"

Hotshot kicked the wall and stormed off.
His owner just sighed and held his forehead. "What am I going to do with him..."

"They were actually rating us on honor?" *Gyro studied the scores.* "How the heck do they rate that?" *He paused, thinking of some of the techniques he'd used in past battles.* "Looks like we got lucky this time Flashcon. I have a feeling some of those score would have taken a pretty large dive if we'd have been fighting a different opponent."

"What, you're saying we don't fight honorably?" *Flashcon smirked.*

*Not bothering to answer, Gyro continued to scan the scoreboard, looking to see how some of the other trainees had placed.*

"Cool! We did a heck of a lot better than I thought we would!"

"The power score's a bit disappointing... but I suppose anyone's power will look pitiful when up against a brick wall."

"You weren't built for power, anyway; you're more of the speedy type, and as such earned a 90 in agility."

Antlan nodded before mentioning, "What's really surprising about our score is the 80 in Technique... And all this time I thought you were stupid!"

"Believe me, so did- hey, wait a minute!"
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

"30 for honor? I'm not suprised. I feel horrible."

"I know, ninjutsu, but we had to....I'm beginning to wish we had forfeit the match.

"As they say, hindsight is always 20/20."
"Well yes, but my vision is better than 20/20
{true, that}. I should have seen this."
Stevenson's Vocabulary Word of the Week:

Foment: (verb) To excite or arouse, i.e. 2014's Week of Randomness hopes to foment some activity on the forums.

Stevenson's Latin Phrase of the Week:

Brutum Fulmen: (senseless thunderbolt) This phrase, coined by Pliny the elder, is used to refer to an empty threat.

*With the test completed, the candidates were given 20 minutes to rest and repaid their Medabots.*

*Gyro and Flashcon sat down in the corner of the room.*

"This is insane." *Gyro muttered.* "How big is this place? And how the heck could they have constructed it without everyone in the city knowing what was going on? No robattling group could pull this off on their own."

"They probably have a backer."

"Yeah that's a given. But who? It'd have to be someone pretty powerful. And why would someone like that put so many resources into these Medakings? This whole thing is turning out to be a much bigger deal than I thought, we may need to change our plans a bit."

Tiern walked around the room, looking at the others. Now that Hotshot was gone, and was unable to pull him away, he might be able to actually talk to someone. Though, he couldn't pull himself to say hello to anyone, because he was too shy.

And that's when he accidently bumped into Stevenson. He blinked some, then stammered out a simple "Sorry..." in a quick apology to him."

Hotshot was walking through the hallways of the base. He was still angry at his score.

The girl that had beaten Silver apparently did poorly in Agility, but well in every other area - particularly strength - and seemed quite excited about it... yeah, I intend to keep her around. She's cool.

Her rejoicing right in front of Silver and Antlan didn't go over well with the Medabot, but Silver distracted him by saying, "So, I wonder when the next challenge is gonna start?" You know, so he didn't start a scene or anything.

"Soon, I hope..."

"But it wouldn't hurt to socialize in the meantime, right?"

"I guess not."

"Ok. Hey, you! The ones that beat us!"

"YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK TO THEM!"

Ok, so maybe Silver's motive wasn't to distract him after all.

"Hi! Hey, um, is there any reason your Medabot's glaring evily in this direction?"

"Oh, don't mind Antlan. He's always like that."

((Next test will start tomorrow, once I remember which test we're up to...))

*With nothing else to occupy his attention until the next test began, Gyro and Flashcon wondered towards Tiern, who appeared to have just bumped into one of the other candidates.*

"Not a bad test, huh?" *He threw out a casual comment.* "What happened to your Medabot?"

Tiern sighed, holding his head.

"Oh, he was aggravated about his decent score, saying it should ahve been so much better, so he stormed off... I just hope he doesn't get himself into any trouble... And that he comes back..." he replied softly.

"Time for your next test!" *a young man walked into the room.* "I'm Romeo and I'll be running things this time. This section of the test is to guage your people skills and sublteness. You'll be scored on carisma, general people skills, and subltety. Since that's not the type of thing we can test in a gym or obstalce course, this test is going to be a little different. You'll be going into that room over there one at a time with your medabots." *he pointed to a door on the opposite wall.* "Once inside, you'll find a person. As to what type of person it is you'll have to wait and find out. For the test, you'll have to carry on a conversation with that person and convince him or her why you'd make a good addition to the Medakings. Make sure you keep the scoring catagories in mind. Remember, only one person at a time, the door will open when it's the next person's turn. I'll leave you to form your own line. Good luck." *Romeo walked back out of the room.*

"The heck?" *Gyro muttered as the others slowly began to form a lose sort of line.* "What kind of stupid test is that? Well, whatever. Might as well get it over with." *Sighing, he and Flashcon joined the line.*

((The person inside will be different for each of us. They will try to carry on a casual conversation with you (they won't talk about the Medakings). Your goal is to talk to them and convince them that you'd be good for the Medakings. Feel free to make up your own person and conversation.))

Tiern began to panic. It was test time again, and Hotshot wasn't back yet. He waited to get in the back of the line. Maybe Hotshot would be back by then...

*As the line began to move Gyro noticed that the people who had already gone throught he door weren't coming out the other side. He supposed they were being sent out of a different exit, probably to insure that they didn't tip any of the others off about the specifics of the test. He still failed to see how a test of conversation skills had any real bearing on things but, in the end, he didn't really care. He was hear to learn more about the Medaking, not master the fine art of subtle conversation and its uses in robattling. Meanwhile, the line continued to move until there were only a couple of people in front of Gyro.*

"...A Conversation test?"

"This'll be no problem! I'm a good talkerer!"

"...We're doomed..."

*Gyro stepped through the door and found himself facing a teenage girl.*

"Hey, I love your jacket." *she smiled.*

"Thanks." *Gyro replied, still puzzled as to exactly what he was supposed to do.*

"Doesn't really go with your medabot though. You should think about painting him."

"To match my jacket?" *Gyro gave her a look.* "Uh no thanks, his current color scheme was specially chosen for stealth and praticality. My battle strategies are pretty adaptable but that's no reason to through away an easy advantage."

"Oh, you two fight a lot?"

"Yeah, and we win nearly every time." *Gyro tried to work something about his skills into conversation.* "Don't you battle with your medabot?"

"No, we go shopping together. It's so nice to have someone to carry everything for me. Ooh, speaking of shopping, there's this one store you should go to. They have lots of really bright colored stuff that'd look great on you."

"Thanks but no thanks. I'm a master of stealth. Stealth and bright colors don't mix."

"If you say so. Well, see you later." *the girl turned and strolled out of the room. Gyro followed a moment later. The test seemed to be over but he had no idea how he had done...*

When Silver's turn came, he found himself facing a tall... rather round man with a long black beard and an awful smell.

"Eh? Someone there?"

"Yeah, down here," Silver said, waving his hand around to attract attention.

"No won'er I din't see ya! You wouln't las' five min'ts at sea, small fry!" the fat guy said, his words slurred.

"What does that have to do with...?"

"You're awright, kid, you're awright."

"Um, are you... intoxicated, perhaps?"

"I dun kno what any a that means, but I'm real drunk!"

"Well this is more than a little awkward."

"Yeah, I bettr get atta 'ere. Gimme a few min'ts to sober up," he said as he stumbled out of the room.

"...I'm just going to pretend that never happened."
