*Taizen sighed. If the twins had been going to come back all along they should have just stayed and listened to his warning. But why were they asking about portals? They seemed a bit more comfortable in Polar than most of the others so they must have been here at least a few times before so they had to know how to use portals. They didn't look like Darkwind spies but Taizen decided to be cautious.* "I know some things but, like I already told your friends here, knowledge can be a dangerous thing in this world. You really should return home."

"Which they can't." stated Joshua, who had recently tried to use his portal, which was in Myraid. "They're asking because portals don't seem to work." he stated. "I am not liking the looks of this. And Taizen, as I've just said, you really need to lighten up. They're kids. They're having a good time. They're almost getting themselves killed. It's what childhood is about, right?" he laughed.

"I don't think most people would agree with you on that second one." *Taizen muttered before turning back to the matter at hand.* "So, your portal doesn't work?"

"Looks that way."

"Ours isn't working either."

"Then you were careless, or perhaps just very unlucky." *Taizen stated bluntly.* "Portals don't just shut down. If your portals aren't working that means there's something, or more specifically someone on the other side blocking them. It sounds like your portals are currently being secured by the Darkwind Corperation."

"Secured?" *T'kina looked puzzled.* "And what's this Darkwind Corperation?"

*Ignoring her questions, Taizen started silently into space for a moment then continued talking.* "If they're securing your portals on Earth then they'll be taking care of this side soon as well. That's probably what those Dukaknights where here for. This isn't good..." *Taizen's voice was both serious and sincere.* "If they found your portals they may know what you look like. You need to get back to Earth as soon as possible and whatever you do stay away from your portals. Your lives will be in danger if they find you." *He paused for a moment, trying to decide on a plan of action.* "You two," *he looked straight at the twins,* "should go with one of those other new comers to their portal and use it to get back to Earth. You were unlucky but I'm sure most, if not all, of their portals are still open."

"What about your portal?"

*Taizen frowned, wishing she hadn't asked. He had gone to great lengths to protect his favorite portals, efforts that could all be wasted if someone else started using it and became careless. He'd only do that if there were no other working portals, and he knew things hadn't gotten that bad, yet.* "It's far away from here." *he gave a noncomittal reply.* "I'm sure some of those people know about ones that are easier to get to."

"Sounds like good advice. You two had better get to it."

"You might want to go with them." *Taizen advised.* "Knowing you, I'm sure you have another portal somewhere but you know the danger here and believe me, it's only going to get worse. Money won't do you any good if you're dead. I'm sure there are much safer buisness opertunities back on Earth."

T'kina crossed her arms as her sword laid upon her back.
"Geeze. Like home is any safer. We're as in much danger there as we are there. Not like there was or is a war going on. People owning guns, knifes, you should really think about that Polar is as safe as Earth. So if we die here, we die here. if we die at home, we die at home." She snapped.

"We'll....be going...." Ransom pulled his sister away before the two could get into a fight..

"Do you really think you want to get into a fight right now when we're stranded here?" He asked, as they got away from Joshua and Taizan.

T'kina sighed.
"I dunno....I just think someone had to talk to him, and I couldn't keep it in any longer." She explained.

"Well, we better hope we don't run into them again." Ransom sighed, as he looked at the otehr characters that were hardly written in yet (heh) "I guess we're all stuck here then..."

In an old, rickity, cabin in the woods off of a town called Lijo, a man named Cancer was thriving.

"Phase one is complete master." he spoke into a controlled portal (portals you can talk through and transport through in only Polar. Summonded by magic) to a dark figure.

"And the kid?"

"He's siding with us." Cancer explained. "I sent him off to keep an eye on the Earthlings.

"Excellent. And Darkwinds?"

"Taken care of."

"Grand. Now, remember the rest of our plan. We need those Earthlings."

Cancer nodded.
"Don't worry sir. You can count on me."

And with that, the controlled portal closed.

(Alright! New thingy-ma-bober! If you don't have your item withen item range, you get weak in Polar (Earth?) for that's what keeps you strong and mighty!
Aswell, MK, type yourself coming back to Myraid please .3.)

Jaron was examining his weapon as he walked the path back toward the city.

"This place is still strange... I don't think I'll ever get used to this world."

He narrowed his eyes and spun the voulge, sliding it into its holder located on his back.

"But that doesn't stop me from doing whats right... Those kids need to stop messing with the authority here."

He said, nodding to himself, and swearing an 'oath' to himself.

One he thought was righteous, but would end up a disaster in the end, without him knowing.

(Too...fast-paced...can't...keep up...must...get...on...more...@.@)

Cobalt was back in the place he materialized in Polar, staring at the wall blankly. After he followed Ransom out and realized the fight was over, he had stuck around long enough to hear Taizen's "speech." Deciding he had a point, the junior had retreated to his portal...only to discover it no longer worked. Sighing, he stood up again and walked off randomly, half hoping to find Ransom again. The eager-to-cast-magic boy was the only person he knew here, and not that well either.

He noticed Ransom and someone who must have been his oppressive sister. They looked really similar. He ran up to them. "Hey," he greeted the twins. As an explanation to T'kina, he added, "I met your brother for about ten seconds earlier." He paused and scuffed one shoe on the ground uncomfortably. "Um...do you think we should stick together? In case those Dukaknights come back?" He glanced at T'kina. "I noticed you're pretty good with that sword, but I know next to nothing about using my knife, and from what I heard, your brother could use some practice with his magic." He paused again and swallowed. "So...I was thinking...we could find somewhere and practice fighting maybe?" He crossed his fingers, hoping they'd let him go with them. He didn't want to be alone in this strange land. Ha ha. Strangers in a strange land. Wasn't there a book on that or something?

T'kina looked at her brother.
"So....you made a new guy friend?" She said swiftly.

Ransom took that the wrong way and blushedright up.
"T'kina...." His orb on his staff glowed red.

"Relax.
Practiving fighting? That can kill some time {for our portals to open}. Sounds goo.d By the way, I'm T'kina." She introduced herself. "And I guess you already met Ransom...." She looked over at her red cheeked brother.

*Taizen watched the twins walk off with one of the others. He hoped they were following his advice and going that person's portal. Even if they had stepped up their activities it was unlikely that Darkwind had found very many. Most of the others were still hanging out nearby. He sighed and turned away. He had done his best to warn them, if they didn't listen it was their own funeral.*

*After a moment's thought he decided to head outside of town for a bit. He still had a lot of time to kill before the evening's activities and, after that showdown with the Dukaknights, it couldn't hurt to lay low for a few hours.*

Jaron was hiding, watching the group. He blinked.

"Practice fighting...? Aren't they deadly enough without practicing? Man this group is bad..."

Joshua overheard that T'kina and some new kid wre going to practice fighting. He assumed that meanst fighting each other.

"Woah there, kiddos. I know that fightings fun and all, but hey, you gotta take a rest sometimes! How about we go back to the pub, or try some prtals or stuff." he said. "I think we've had enough fighting for today."
{{And yes, I was planning to do this before MK started watching.}}

T'kina spun around to face Joshua.
"What...but....all the portals are closed. We're full...besides, we're gonna fight stuff like hay stacks and tall grass. And these two haven't even fought today." She pointed to Ransom and Cobalt.

"Don't remind me..." Ransom was still bummed out that he didn't get to use his magic as much as he wanted to.

After cooling off, Karik headed back to the town square. Suddenly he realized he'd never eaten, and was now viciously hungrey. Karik fast-walked into the pub, taking the same seat he'd had before, and ordered the same thing he'd orderd before.

"Ok. They haven't fought today. Doesn't mean they have to. And besides, there might be some other ways to spend ones time. Maybe a few games of chance would brighten you up." he flipped a coin in the air.

Shecil walked into the pub, still with a bleeding foot. He sat on one of the stools and looked around until he saw Karik. ''You there...You have some money?'' He asked.

Karik looked at Shecil with one eyebrow raised. scanning over him, Kairk looked at his foot.

"I've got three things to say to you kid. First of all, Who goes around asking random strangers for money? Second, yes I do have money, but I'll need a reason to give it too you. Third, you might want to do something with that foot of yours. In case you didn't notice, it's bleeding."
