Naruto: The Next Generation

This comic is about the next generation of ninja during the Chuunin exams.
In this tale, you may be either an entirely new character from any village, or along the lines of the old characters after the original story.
But how did they end up, you ask?
I'll explain the important storys. Otherwise, nothing of any particular interest occured...
Orochimaru was eventually killed by Itachi, who in time, became a successor to the former leader of Aikatsuki. He was presumably killed by Sasuke, while he attempted to kill Itachi, utilizing his cursed seal. However, while it is assumed they are both dead, most aren't sure.
Kakashi relatively mastered every technique he encountered. Even the Rasengan. Although he is well into his old age, he is still an amazingly skilled Jounin, and is almost unrivaled.
Maito Gai, in a desperation attempt, opened the 8th gate to save Lee's life, therefore resulting in his own death. Lee, on the other hand, became the greatest ninja to utilize taijutsu only.
Shikamaru and Temari are still an item, and stuck with eachother. Love is nice...
Finally, Naruto achieved his dream, and became the greatest Hokage.
Believe it.

Not everything will be revealed until later in the story.
Also, many missing links amongst clans have been discovered. Haku and Kimimaru were not the last of their kind, and you can utilize this fact.

Description: As the name implies, this is a technique that extracts the poison out of a dart wound pr a poison-tipped kunai.

English Name: Chakra Absorption Technique
Description: The user is able to absorb the physical and spiritual chakra energy of the opponent into himself. This technique can be used for both offensive and defensive purposes. The user doesn't have to actually touch the opponent, since it is also possible to use it through other media.
Japanese Name: Kanashibari no Jutsu
English Name: Body Freeze Technique
Description: Used to cause one's opponent to lose the advantage of movement. Freezing them in their tracks, this Jutsu creates an opening for a more dangerous attack.

English Name: Earth Element: Dungeon Chamber of Nothingness
Description: Traps the victims inside a self-repairing dome of earth. User is able to absorb the chakra of anyone trapped inside.
Japanese Name: Doton: Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu
English Name: Earth Element: Inner Decapitation Technique
Description: The user hides underground and grabs the legs of their victim, then pulls them under leaving their head above ground and vulnerable to a more deadly attack.

Night Rain Jutsu: The user clouds the surrounding sky with dark clouds and makes the rain fall from them. While everything is dark and the rain sings its song, the user will be able to hide and attack his/her opponent unseen, unheard, and unhindered.

English Name: Shining Heaven
Description: Named after the Shinto sun goddess. The jet-black flames are said to be as hot as the Sun, and the first time touching them will be your last. It is said that the fire from this jutsu will burn for seven days and seven nights.
Personality: Daisuke is a pretty nice guy, even a wimp at times. But, when a mission calls or when someone's depending on him, he does whatever it takes.
Bio: Daisuke is originally from the Land Hidden in the Rain. He moved to Konoha when his parents were killed on a mission. While he wears the Konoha Leaf headband around his forehead, he also wears the Rain headband around his neck.

She wears black slightly baggy pants and black ninja boots and a tight green tanktop. Was voted "most Missmatched Ninja" in school.
Short Bio: Father was killed as a minor ninja inKonoha while her mother died of illness when she was 6. Neither of her parents are from a large clan but both were disowned by their families. Red now lives as a Chuunin barely passing the exam. He sword techniqe is self taught and she has a light knowlede of some fire techniqes.

The living shadow: Long story short, it breathes life in to a shadow. Is not very effective at noon.

Personality: Kibley only picked up a little of the laziness most of them have, but most of the intelligence. He's not going to be jumping headlong in to any battles, but he has no qualms about actually doing things.

((To be fair to both of you... Some people do get rather elitest about only watching things in Japanese even though most enligh dubs are pretty well done (and some are even better than the original Japanese). In the case of Naruto though (disregarding any opinion on the voice actors), the version shown on TV has been heavily edited for content and Naruto's often repeated catch phrase "Believe it!" is nowhere to be found in the Japanese dub or in the manga.
As far as this RP goes, having seen only the enlish dub shouldn't really be a problem (although the US version is like 200 episodes behind Japan right now so there might be some discrepencies between the RP and the later anime episodes but that's not a really big deal). As for "Believe it!", while some people consider it rather corny (myself included), it's really a matter of personal preference. If you like it, use it.))

((After doing a little reasearch, , it turns out that Naruto was given a unique dialect in the original manga and anime, and thusly ended his sentences with "dattebayo" or "verbattebayo", partly to help him sound more masculine... [In all honesty, I thought that it was more like a casual Britton saying 'ay' at the end of every sentence. No offense to anyone from over the pond, mew. ^^;;] ))

((Because of this line ending, the catchphrase 'Believe it' was added to the English dub just for the sole purpose of making the lips synch-up to the dubbed audio. Since the Japanese 'Naruto' had the title protagonist saying "dattebayo" at the end of almost every sentence, 'Believe it' pops up more in the english dub than it is comfortable for a number of anime enthusiasts [myself included]. ... Still, it is a mater of personal preference, though Naruto might be a little too out of his pond to be using that catchphrase as Hokage.))

Family-
When Konohagakure was founded under the First Hokage, the Yarihito were just a small travelling circus family down on their luck with no food, no money, and no real place to call home. In exchange for their services as entertainers, the hidden village allowed the family troop to live among the ninja. And, for a while, life was good for the vagabond circus clan.

While treated warmly, the circus family could sense they were very much out of place in Konohagakure after living there a while. Of course, the circus family still had the option to leave the village and continue their travels... Being civilians, they would not have to fear harboring secrets the ANBU would no doubt seek to erase.

Instead, the circus clan opted to change that felt sentiment of being out of their league, and appealed to the First Hokage, asking if they would be allowed to train alongside the Konoha ninja. Of course, the Hokage agreed and allowed the family to try their hand at being shinobi. In a few years, the once lowly clan of 'red-eyed freaks' and showmen started showing promise in the ways of the ninja. Soon, their unique traits and natural skills as weapons masters began showing through, proving to Konoha that they were a valuable asset to the village... beyond being mere entertainers.

The Yarihito clan eventually got their name from the weapon they adopted as their trademark: the spear. As a clan of high-flying showmen, capable of high jumps, incredible strength, and fantastic feats, the Yarihito were highly prized by Konohagakure as shocktroopers and black-ops operatives. They were also skilled actors, both in theater and on the field; their ability to feign weakness, injury, and even flat-out stupidity proving very useful on missions. Tricky and charasmatic, they put on a show then skirted the spotlight, knowing full well that a ninja well known is a big target. They make it a point to remain in the background unless they are called to take the lead.

Wisdom is something that normally wouldn't be associated with the Yarihito, but they do have it, in spite of their 'wild and untamable' dispositions. With their willingness to be upstaged, the clan is free to hide their softer, more reclusive side. Under their showy, gung-ho surface, the Yarihito were one of the more intelligent and charitble clans, as they still feel that they need to repay the debt of kindness Konoha showed their circus travelling ancestors... Of course, they did their best not to let all this get to their heads. Humility is a hard trait to keep in shape, after all...


Personality:
Coming from a family with roots in entertaining others, Genki loves it when he's given a script or stunt to preform, and it's all for the sake of helping others relax and enjoy themselves. He's a ball of happy energy when given an excuse to entertain and will go out of his way to give the crowd what they came for.

When he's not on the stage playing a role, or stopping breaths with death-defying feats, Genki's proves that he's more of a doer than a talker, talking only when he thinks it's appropriate and mostly uses handsignals to communicate his next move. The only time he really talks is when he's telling fantasical stories or just being an actor in general. Unscripted moments are generally embarrassing for Genki when he opens his mouth...

Genki is also terrible at explaining things to other people (unless he's practiced these explanations beforehand,) and would rather show others how it's done. Even though he's soft spoken, by-the-book, and likes being alone for days at a time, (coming back only if he's scheduled to be on stage) Genki can be quite a character when he wants to be. He's unashamed of pulling pranks or acting like an overall buffoon in public all for the simple joy of seeing smiles on the faces of his friends or potential friends.

At best, Genki could be described as feline in his personality.

While Genki is notorious for either being too much of a goof or far too cold to get near or be around, once one has gained his trust, Genki can be very loyal and stubborn once he has been made a friend. It's not a wonder that Genki will go to great lengths to make sure everyone he holds dear is safe. (Should be no surprise... he's lost enough already.)

Bio: Genki had just recently become a Jounin on his 21st birthday. He is a well rounded ninja, evenly versed in the diciplines of tai-jutsu and ninjutsu. He has an impressive aresnal of techniques of all elemental types at his disposal, most of which Genki almost never uses. He does lean toward wind and water (and a little lightning on the side), though.

Even though he's 'a happy ball of energy' doing what he loves, Genki isn't ashamed to let his heart sit on his sleeve when he's not in the spotlight. He is, after all, contending with the loss of his own family... and while he doesn't want anyone feeling sorry for him, Genki knows better than holding in feelings for too long, and often goes off on his own to vent off or greive to avoid hurting those he considers friends.

Genki had lived a happy and well-guided life by two very loving parents and his little sister, trained up in the unorthodox ways of life his clan carried since the days of their circus roots. Life was wonderful then, and becoming a Genin was easy... But after Genki had become a Chunin at age 15, his parents fell ill, and Genki willingly sacrificed much of his training to care for his family. Had Genki continued at the pace he had before his parents grew sick, he would have reached Jounin rank by age 17.

His parents died together, just a few hours after Genki reached Jounin rank.

At 21, Genki is also now the legal guardian of his supposedly loud-mouthed and rebellious 14-year-old sister, Kazi. Genki knows in his heart that all the ruckus Kazi makes is really just an act she puts on in public, as she too is also in greiving over the loss of their parents. Genki hopes that Kazi would mature soon and take off that happy-go-lucky mask of hers... for both their sakes.

Having lived in Konohagakure almost all his life, and due to his almost reclusive nature, Genki is a real bumbler when it comes to socializing outside of entertaining. To add, he's never met a foreign ninja in his short life... One wonders how he had been able to support himself and his family for so long.

Currently supporting his little sister through the Chunin exam.

Appearance: Asian with cinnamon-red eyes. When he talks or smiles, his 'catfangs' are seen. Hair is thick and bushy, but well groomed and trimmed, giving him a lionesque appearance. Wears a maroon bandana with the spearhead/lionhead symbol of his clan embroidered in white. He wears the Konoha headband on a tilt, half-way covering his left eye, hiding a dragon's head birthmark on his brow. He wears denim jeans, a standard shinobi flak vest, and a navyblue t-shirt. Occasionally wears an Indiana Jones style leather jacket and has a pair of tailor-made, flexible chain-mail/welded plate fingerless gauntlets. Often carries a spear, glaive, or some sort of polearm on missions.

- Creates an unblockable blade of wind

Kazi no Yari (Spear of Wind) {ninjutsu}
-Operates like it's blade counterpart.

Water Dragon Blast (Suiton: Suiryudan no Jutsu) {ninjutsu}
-A powerful stream of water is blasted at the opponent in the form of a long dragon.

Water Blast (Suidan no Jutsu) {ninjutsu}
-A huge ball of water (varying in size from a basketball to a massive boulder) is blasted at opponent.

Pheonix Immortal Fire (Katon: Hosenka no Jutsu) {ninjutsu}
-User hurls a barrage of fireballs at opponent. Distraction technique.

Pelting Pebbles Technique (needs Japanese name) {ninjutsu}
-User can command the dust and the pebbles around him to levitate and barrage his target. in some cases, even larger stones can be added to the barrage, making it a very destructive projectile attack. Pelting Pebbles also doubles as an effective distraction technique.

Yokai Kyuin Jutsu (Spirit Absorbtion Technique) {ninjutsu}
- In name only, for intimidation puropses. Really only drains the heath and chakra out of the intended target for as long as the user is in physical contact with the target. How much gets drained in a period of time depends on the overall health and will of both the user and target.

Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique) {ninjutsu}
-Everyone knows this one. *rolls eyes*

Henge no Jutsu (Basic Transformation Technique) {ninjutsu}
-Turns user into another person, animal, or object

Kakuremino no Jutsu (Basic Invisible cloak technique) {ninjutsu}
-Uses a cloth or cloak to help blend in with the environment, rendering the ninja invisible.

Cage of Solid Air Technique (needs Japanese name...) {ninjutsu}
-Operates like Zabuza's Water Prison tech, but it uses a sphere of hardened air to immobilize and trap the target. Also acts as an all encompassing shield that blocks out sound and all attacks lower than S-Rank. [Note: Genki often uses this technique on himself while in meditation. He's been known to stay in a trance-like state for days doing this.)

Lightning Razor Combo (needs Japanese name...) {taijutsu}
-A high-speed combo of various attacks that gradually get more charged with electricity as each blow lands. The finisher is a Chidori-powerlevel punch that will either kill the target or blast them into air.

Wind Razor Combo (needs Japanese name) {taijutsu}
-High-speed combo of various that utilizes the Blade of Wind Jutsu. The finisher is a concentrated concussion blast of wind that will either kill the target, render them unconscious, or blast them into the air.

Holy Influence Healing Technique (needs Japanese name...) {ninjutsu}
-User places himself or target in a trance-like state and draws energy from the environment around him, then transforms the energy into healing chakra. Sometimes used in tandem with Cage of Solid Air.


Specialty Jutsus:

Taju Kazi no Yari (Multiple Wind Spears) {ninjutsu}
-Spears of wind rain down on target.

Dragon Crash (needs Japanese name...) {taijutsu}
-Highspeed jump attack. User accumulates energy in mid-air, falls with a dragon's head of energy as a shield, and creates an explosion of energy upon landing. Often coupled with the use of a weapon, preferably a spear or polearm. Not really accurate but it is a very devastating move if successful.

Dragon Missile (needs Japanese name...) {taijutsu}
-Variant of Dragon Crash. Instead of the user falling to earth to help with the devastating attack, the energy is accumulated into the spear, polearm, or projectile, and the object is flung at the target while the user is still in mid-air. The energy contained in the missile still explodes, but the attack is noticeably weaker as power is exchanged for accuracy.

Kekkei-genkai: Kimera (Chimera)
-It has long been said that the blood of lions mingles in the blood of the Yarihito clan. This is so believed due to the cinnamon red eyes, long canine teeth, and other lion-esque features that are present on those who are in the Yarihito lineage. Because of their unique genetic dispositions, the chakra of the Yarihito clan is abnormally 'ferocious', yet very malleable and relatively easy to control. It is not uncommon for one in the Yarihito clan to have access to all the basic elements (fire, water, wind, earth, thunder) and mold chakra into hollow, explosive 'bubbles'.
To add, the Kimera Kekkei-genkai adds on amazing and beastial speed, strength, and agility to a Yarihito, and it increases when in a state of alert or alarm. Obviously, this helps greatly when using taijutsu. There have been crazy stories of young Yarihito children who often maul would-be kidnappers to death or easily smash through obstacles to escape...

Advanced Bloodline Technique- Kuchiyose: Yokai no Kimera (Summon: Spirit of the Chimera)
-The most spectacular effect of the Kimera Kekkei-genkai is the very 'spirit' itself. Either in desperate situations, or when willed by the user, the chakra in the Yarihito emanates from the user and solidifies into a frightening 8-foot-tall apparition of an anthropomorphic lion with the wings, tail, and hind-legs of a dragon. This apparition often stands behind user and matches the user's movements and skills perfectly, effectively doubling, or even tripling the effects of every jutsu preformed (and this includes tai-jutsu and ninjutsu.) ... there is a price for something this spectacular, however. Due to the large amount of chakra needed to sustain the apparition, it's not uncommon for one in the Yarihito clan to become faint, weak, or even pass out after using the Kimera.

Advanced Bloodline Technique- Elemental chakra bomb (needs Japanese name...) {ninjutsu}
-Can conjure a small chakra orb (charkra bubble) and fill it with elemental chakra (Fire, wind, water, earth, thunder, etc.) Often used as a diverionary tactic.

Advanced Bloodline Technique- All the World (needs Japanese name...) {ninjutsu}
- User summons as many chakra orbs as he can muster and fills each orb with a different type of elemental chakra (ie. 1 is fire, 1 is water, 1 is thunder... etc.) and fires them off in rapid succession, setting off explosions and random field-altering effects.

Advanced Bloodline Technique- Royal Razor Combo (needs Japanese name) {taijutsu}
-A powered up combination of the Lighting Razor and Wind Razor Combos. The combo ends with a massive explosion of wind and thunder that will just flatten everything. With the Yokai no Kimera in play, this tech can level more than an acre in seconds.

It has been many years since young Naruto rose in rank and became the greatest Shinobi Konohagakure had ever produced, ousting even his hero, the Fourth Hokage. At age 25, and in his prime, Naruto became the 7th Hokage, and youngest Hokage in written history. Now nearing age 50 (he refuses to say he's older than 40, he just might be 40. No one's bothered to keep count) Naruto had trained up quite a few Genin and Chunin.

Lovingly called "Naruto the Hurricane" for his signature move, "Maelstrom" (a devastating ball of spinning wind Chakra), and his flamboyant personality, Naruto quickly became well-beloved by the young Genin that graduated from the Academy... All of them clinging to the fantasic tales of Naruto's youth. Far-fetched tales of many-tailed monsters and demon seals that now were just mere fairy-tales that children repeated amongst each other these days.

If only they knew. Time had a way of making things fade to mere text in a book.

Kakashi was now an Elder, but remained in active duty as a Jounin, and he now writes his own set of award-winning "'Icha Icha' inspired" novellas. His arsenal of jutsu remained legendary, even at his frail age. He wasn't deployed as often as he used to, so his skills remained mysterious and mythical... Except for a few rare occasions when he did let loose with his Mangekyo Sharingan. Strangely, there were never enough eye-witenesses to confirm the superhuman feats the Kakashi-sama pulled off during the missions he WAS deployed on. Most of the adults these days just brush the stories off as either urban legends or the simple exaggerations of old men.

One could spend hours trying to catch up with the shinobi of Naruto's 'Typhoon' Generation, especially the "Konoha 11." Dozens of legends have centered around these ninja, and many of which are told and retold as both motivation and warning to young ninja as they grow into their headbands.

Surely... It is time for the torch to pass to a new generation. Shelters are too rickety and the storms have long been overdue. Soon, this generation will learn that the legends may be legends, but they are REAL.

<span style='color:maroon'>Genki chased after his 14-year-old sister across the rooftops of Konohagakure toward the Hokage monument. This year's Chunin exams were just around the corner, and Genki had been assigned to train his own sister for the ranking tests.

Kazi put her hands on her hips as she stood proudly on a balcony railing, as her elder brother finally made it to the square beneath the cliff-face and the seven Hokage immortalized in stone.

"When did you get so slow, Genki-san?" Kazi teased with a pleased grin.

"Kazi-chan. I was never very fast to begin with." the 21-year-old Genki chuckled as he stood up at his full height. He looked at his sister with a broad grin, "But I was here before you."

"No wai!" Kazi protested.

"Ya rly." a voice spoke behind Kazi, causing the young kunoichi to fall off her perch face first. The Genki Kazi was talking to poof'd to nothing, while the REAL Genki was now crouched on Kazi's perch with a wide and toothy grin.

"I've been waiting here ten minutes, Kazi-chan." Genki went on, slurping up ramen and soup from a styrofoam cup. He proceeded to draw out a pair of bamboo chopsticks from a pocket in the lining of his leather jacket, "You would have gotten here sooner if you--"

"Didn't get distracted by the new shop... but, Genki-san, you know that I--"

Genki slurped his ramen loudly, interrupting his sister. He clacked his chopsticks in the air. "-- I was going to say that if you remembered the path through town I showed you 30 minutes ago, you would have beaten me here, Kazi-chan." the elder brother rebuked, "I KNOW you're better than this, and you know that the rest of our clan has high expectations of you." He finished his ramel and crushed the cup as he hopped off the railing with a sigh. "You're a young woman now, Kazi, and we just can't afford stuff that trivial right now."

"That's coming from the guy who bought a Tanuki plushie for himself a few days ago..."

"...That... was a prop." Genki corrected his sister with an embarrassed look. "It doesn't count."</span>

One could swear the faces on the cliffside monument were wearing amused smiles as the siblings argued.

Shigatsuame Hikari, Jounin, age 20. Her clan name roughly means 'april rain'. Hikari had known Genki for as long as she could recall, and they were part of a three man team at one point.

Taking a hair clip of mahogony wood out of her flak jacket, Hikari quickly pinned her black-blond brindled hair up while she strolled down past the monument square, trying to hold a straight face as she passed Genki bickering with his little sister.

She, too had a sibling of her own. A little brother who was also getting ready for the chunin exams. Her brother, Taifuun, was part of Kari's team... but that team was short a member for one reason or another. Both she and Genki hoped that even with a missing team member, Kari and Tai would be just fine when the forest trial began.

<span style='color:violet'>Daisuke Amaya was strolling lazily through the Leaf Village streets with nothing to really occupy his time. He stopped near the Ichiraku Noodle Shop and looked up at the sky. It appeared that no rain would be falling from the blue and cloud-free space.

"Darn... Rain is my favorite type of weather.", he muttered to himself.

After a small sigh, he continued his strolling through town until he reached the outskirts which met the forests surrounding Konoha. Deciding against going into them, Daisuke turned back and jumped onto a stretch of fence.

"What to do, what to do...", he said.</span>

*sigh* Why'd I become a chuunin again. It's always so much bother to have to lead anyone on these minor missions.

She looked up and stared at the sky looking for some clouds to waft by. All attention gone as she held her arms behind her head and just walked where the wind took her. At the back of her mind she wondered if she smelled ramen.</span>

<span style='font-size:11pt;line-height:100%'>Family History:</span>
The Iwa clan originated in the Land of Earth, one of the greater clans in Iwagakure. The Iwa was divided into two groups, the ?Main Line? and the ?Branch Line.? The ?Main Line? of the family were the only family members allowed to become shinobi. (Main Line members included the first son of a Main Line family.) Any Iwa clan member not of the Main Line was considered a Branch Line family member and was not allowed to use their bloodline trait in battle or become ninja. (Branch Line members included any family member that was not the first son of a part of the Main Line.)
A group of Branch Line family members eventually got together and created a large uproar in Iwagakure. This family tussle eventually led to a large portion of the Iwa Branch Line family members leaving the Land of Earth for good; they moved to Konohagakure in the Land of Fire. This move occurred at least five generations before the Konoha-Iwagakure War. Since none of the family members were technically ninja at the time, ANBU had no reason to follow any of the family.
Once a part of Konohagakure for several years, many of the Iwa Branch Clan members began training as Ninja. They were first not entirely trusted by the Konoha citizens, though there were very dedicated to Konoha as a whole. They practiced earth-style jutsu more than other types, which is thought to have lead to some of the distrust. However, the Iwa clan proved themselves to Konoha during the Konoha-Iwagakure War, as they openly fought against Iwagakure and even some family member descendants. Now, sometimes referred to the Konoha-Iwa Clan, the Iwa Branch Line members that migrated in the distant past are now an accepted part of the Konohagakure society.

<span style='font-size:11pt;line-height:100%'>Personality:</span>
Arashi has a cynical wisdom that is, at times, very abrasive. This habit got him into a few skirmishes in his youth. Quite conservative and patient, Arashi will take time to come to a decision even while under pressure. This has helped him in missions many times, though his teammates have gotten a scare before when he took longer than their nerves would have liked to allow. His patience has also allowed Arashi to learn a large number of elemental jutsu, the majority of which are earth style along with a few that are fire style.
It takes a lot of pressure and problems to get Arashi angered; however, when his blood finally boils, large explosions are not rare. As all Iwa clan member?s bones are far stronger than the average human?s (due to their kekkei genkai), this leads to Arashi?s habit of not refraining from physical action. One of the reasons he keeps himself under control is his kekkei genkai, as he considers harming others worth avoiding whenever easily possible.
Arashi considers all people to be equal. The only possible differences between people are dedication, which can be controlled by anyone, in his mind. Females tend to make up the majority of Arashi?s comrades - he?s always seemed to get along with the typical ?female thought process? more than with the rash acts he sees most guys make. Nonetheless, Arashi will steadfastly defend any of his friends.
Night is Arashi?s favorite time period; he likes to sit back and watch the stars when his duties do not intervene. Nighttime is also when he prefers to do his physical training. As far as missions go, Arashi feels more confident in the dark, because it puts him and whomever he might face in combat on more even ground - his one blind eye can be a weakness of note in conflict during daylight hours. Certainly, he?s used to enemies attacking his blind side in a lighted situation, but the night simply makes him feel more comfortable.

<span style='font-size:11pt;line-height:100%'>Biography:</span>
Since birth, Iwa Arashi has been blind in his right eye. He had one sibling, a younger brother by the name of Iwa Hayasa. His mother died giving birth to Hayasa, when Arashi was about 4. To this day, Arashi is still very close to his clan. Arashi was still too young at the time to really comprehend what had happened, though his father was affected dramatically for a year or two. Hayasa always looked up to Arashi, trying to follow his path in life.
Arashi became a Genin while he was 10. Most of his early missions were to areas away from Konoha, whether they were in the Land of Fire or not. Many of Arashi?s classmates had called him ?One-eye? in the Academy, and this nickname carried on for some number of years later. Arashi actually enjoyed the nickname; it identified him in a special way, and he was actually proud of his blind eye. It was always a challenge for him; not a hindrance.
When he was 14, Arashi became a Chunin after his first attempt in the Chunin Exams. Many of his missions after this were more challenging to Arashi, and he carried them through with excellent precision. It was during his time as a Chunin that Arashi focused more on fire jutsu, as he had already very much mastered earth jutsu. One run-in with a missing-nin got him stuck inside of the trunk of a tree for several hours. (His teammates actually only took a short amount of time to capture the missing-nin.. It was getting him out of the tree that took most of the time.)
Arashi finally became a Jonin just a few months after his 20th birthday, right around the time a Chunin Exam was being held in Konoha. His father died in action during a mission, and Arashi was left to support his brother through to soon-to-occur Chunin Exams. It was in the second stage of these Chunin Exams that his younger brother Hayasa died. Arashi appeared to take the deaths well, though inside his heart was in turmoil. Nonetheless, he was present to watch the outcome of the Exams, and rooted for the Konoha Genin present.
Though he is calm and collected on the outside, Arashi has many stresses and feelings pulling in multiple directions, all of which he uses his missions to subdue.

<span style='font-size:11pt;line-height:100%'>Appearance:</span>
Arashi?s right eye is a dull gray, signifying its lack of sight. His left eye is a dark brown, and he wears his jet-black hair in a style similar to that of Kakashi. If one looks carefully, dark thick lines can be seen through the skin on the back of Arashi?s hands or wherever his bones are very close to his skin. This unusual appearance is caused by his kekkei genkai.
Sometimes, Arashi?s red Konohagakure headband will slip down on the right side, covering his eye partially or wholly. He wears a black long-sleeved shirt and loose black pants along with simple brown sandals. His tan flak vest (similar to the one typically worn by Jonin) has the kanji symbols ?? ?? (tekkou) on the back, a standard in the Konoha-Iwa clan.

Doton: Hakai Jishin (Earth Release: Earthquake Destruction)

This jutsu creates a miniature earthquake in the area surrounding the user. After the series of hand seals, chakra is built up in the arm of the user, and the quake is created when the user slams his fist into the ground.
This will often also cause nearby buildings or other structures to collapse, and results in a depression in a radius surrounding the user. The more chakra used to perform the technique, the larger the resulting earthquake, as well as a larger strain on the user.



<span style='font-size:11pt;line-height:100%'>Kekkei Genkai: Hone no Suchiiru</span>
(Bloodline Limit: Steel Bones)

The Hone Suchiiru is a special bone condition passed down the Iwa bloodline. The Hone no Suchiiru causes the clan member's bones and joints between them to become unbelievably strong and resilient. It takes extremely strong forces to break any bone in an Iwa's body. The Hone no Suchiiru trait doesn't automatically appear from birth in a user, though; instead, it will usually appear in the early teenage years of the user.
The trait causes any taijutsu used by clan members to be much less damaging on their own bodies, as well. Punching rock walls only to get minor bruises is not unheard of for the more temperamental members of the clan.

Jutsu affected / created by the Hone no Suchiiru:

Doton: Boudai Hakai Jishin (Earth Release: Massive Earthquake Destruction)

This jutsu is basically a much more powerful form of Earth Release: Earthquake Destruction (Doton: Hakai Jishin). With the giant scale of this attack, large crevasses in the ground near the user, and in extreme cases (such as when the technique is used on a mountainside) can completely change the entire landscape of an area.
The immense amount of power used to do this technique will usually break the user?s arm, if he is from the Iwa clan; an ordinary person?s bones would simply liquefy if they did not have the Iwa?s supportive kekkei genkai trait. Shortly after this technique is used, the user will usually drop into a coma-like state due to the large amount of chakra that is used in such a short period of time (as well as natural pain). The muscles in the user?s arm are also extensively damaged and require time to heal.</span>

Well, he wasn't actually in the tree - he'd experienced that once before, and didn't plan on doing it again anytime soon. Rather, he was sitting on the branch of the tree. Which, as one could imagine, was much more pleasant.

Arashi chuckled at the thought, opened his eyes and turned his gaze towards the street in Kanoha that could be seen below. He'd just gotten back from a bodyguarding mission in the Land of Waves a few hours ago, and decided to take a small break for the evening. The mission had been an easy one, to be honest, but on such a nice day.. who wouldn't want to relax?</span>
