Greetings! {temporary replacement greeting until I find a new one}
Big news!
I've been working lately on creating a sprite comic: however, as Josiah most likely knows, this is no easy task. However, I have only hit two major ((and by major I mean too large to even think about) snags:
Backround- As they say in real estate; location, location, location. I haven't found any good backdrops for my comic, and even if I did, I wouldn't be able to add characters to them very well. Although, it's finding or making backdrops that's the hard thing/
Hosting: I don't know of anywhere that would host my comic. Not that it's anywhere near productin yet, I was attempting to get a host the other day but couldn't find any good ones. Anyone have one to suggest?
In other news, Advance wars: dual strike is the most addicting thing on the face of the planet.

Stevenson's Vocabulary Word of the Week:
Foment: (verb) To excite or arouse, i.e. 2014's Week of Randomness hopes to foment some activity on the forums.
Stevenson's Latin Phrase of the Week:
Brutum Fulmen: (senseless thunderbolt) This phrase, coined by Pliny the elder, is used to refer to an empty threat.

Jambo! That's why I just make sprites, never even tried a comic. Even the backrounds in Pebble Version look like a headache to make. (And then I take a look at the backgrounds in pages like this in Inverloch and I can't help but think Sarah's insane)
And you can always say hello in Greek... ???????. Although that might be a little bit of a hassle to type out every time.

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

((There is no latin word for hello?! What?))
..And jugger really needs to die. If not only for his name, he's pretty much the most demented sprite I have ever seen.
Anyways...
The way I figure it, the easiest thing to do would be to use backrounds from captin snes, remove the charachters, fill in any blank spaces, and add my characters. But, that would be stealing.
Bonjour?

BGHQ For all your backgrounding needs.
Bravenet Arguably THE best place for webhosting.
Hope this helps.

And thus, the backgrounds were found! *checks taht off of list* I',m still gonna have to figure out how to manipulate them with characters, but I know have every background from chrono trigger. I'll try the host in the morning, though, I'm pretty tired.

Hi! When it comes to sprite comics, Photoshop helps a lot. Most of my backgrounds are actually fairly simple to make. It's the pok?mon battles that take the longest. If you need to know how to mix characters and backgrounds in paint check the tutorials here. Even if you figured that out you should read them anyway. Really helpful.
Free hosts for comics include: Keenspace, Drunk Duck, and Geo Cities.

Hey hey, while I admit photoshop is good, whatever you do, don't use MSpaint as an excuse, because MSPaint isin't really all that bad once you think about it.Josiah wrote: Hi! Jambo! Well, Paint's fine for sprites, and editting the backgrounds from Pokemon R/S/E is possible, just really, really tedious. Of course, I don't imagine photoshop would be much better. The only advantage photoshop really has is the filters... it's pretty much impossible to make anything look blended or blurred in paint.
