Simeon dragged back to the cave what looked like a giant, bear-shaped pincusion. The Lion-morh was a little scratched up and bloody from the chase and the inevitable wrestling match, but he managed to bring home the javelin-covered beastie.
Unfortunately, the smell of wet fur and blood was getting a little much in the shelter while Simeon was flaying the bear with a stone knife.
Noting his team was getting uncomfortable, Simeon looked over at them annd offered to go outside. Some of the trees did provide some decent dryness and Simeon knew that the bearskin had to be dried a bit before being put to use...</span>

Matrix Kirby yawned slightly, and scratched the back of his head. The rain sometimes tired him out for some reason. He stood up, and wlaked over to Josiah.

Shauni returned after setting 4 traps in the forest near there camp. She had a palm leaf as shelter.
"We might get a few small game from them"
She entered the camp with 2 rabbits. "I actually Killed stuff with a spear!"
She put the rabbits on a leaf on the floor
"I also found a herb patch not to far from here. I'll go pick some tomorrow"
She sat down and began to ring her shirt out, drying herself by the fire.

<span style='color:teal'>Seeing that the rain had stopped, Simeon walked outside and onto the moist, mossy ground with the half-skinned bear and the two rabbits Shauni caught in his hands. Beneath a tree, he finished skinning and cleaning the animals, Simeon hung the cleaned furskins on the tree to dry. To speed up the drying, Simeon brought a little fire out of the cave and set pile of sticks ablaze in a cubby-hole in the tree's roots.
While the skins dried, Simeon then went about cutting the meat and setting the excess meat on sticks, curing the meat in the smoke of the fire he had set. He brought into the cave a portion of the uncured meat and made the team some bearsteaks and rabbit soup.
As he let his friends feast, Simeon gathered up the now dry animal skins, packed up the preserved meat, and put out the little fire in the tree roots. He then carved a shelf into the cave shelter, and stored the smoked meat in there, covering the preserved food with one of the dried rabbit skins.
Simeon inspected the bear pelt... and began to soften the skin by constantly rubbing it with rocks and beating it. This loosened the rougher hairs on the fur and they fell out, leaving the soft fur behind.
Shauni still seemed a little cold even though she was nice and dry now, so Simeon offered her the bearskin for a blanket... Not that he needed the extra fur anyways. There were plenty of leftovers, so Simeon took his share and put the extra food away in the storage shelf.
Outside, the clouds cleared a enough so the team could see the sun setting beyond the horizon.
Simeon smiled.

Most everyone was now asleep, and Simeon stayed up to tend to the fire and keep watch. He was still a little leery about that episode in the woods near the hotsprings... What if whatever was watching them was also lurking in the woods? And what if it appeared at this most unholy hour?
Simeon glanced at his canvas satchel, which lay at the mouth of the cave in a sheltered spot where he was supposed to be sleeping. As quietly as any feline could manage, Simeon opened his satchel and pulled out his personal item:
A teddy bear.
"Hi, Radar." Simeon whispered to his plush toy, "What a day, huh?" He sat then in front of the fire and held his plush pal in a childish hug, "And the party's just getting started..."</span>

*Josiah was shaken awake about two hours later by Simeon to take his turn at the watch. It was a rather dull task with little to do except toss and occasional piece of wood into the fire and start out into the dark night.*

Shrugging, he took his personal item, a swiss army knife, out of his pocket, flipped open the blade, and ran it tentitively over the wood. She was only half asleep, and her mind was wondering over the days events. After a while of trying to sleep she heard simeon wake Josiah. After a little while later she heard a scraping nose. Apon inspection she found it was only Josiah making something

The others were asleep, and Ibun had nodded off during his watch not long ago. Nice timing.
Quietly, Simeon tucked his teddy bear back into the canvas stachel and tied it around his waist, then he went about gathering all his hunting tools. With spear in paw and javelins stuffed into his quiver, the Lion-morph then sneaked out the cave and into the woods above the cliffside.
More bear would be good... maybe a cougar or a moose...</span>

"Well, this shouldn't take long. It's not like we have all that much food yet." *MK commented.*
<span style='color:blue'>"Yeah, but I'm sure we can throw something together." *Josiah looked over their modest food stores.* "The fire is pretty low, would you mind building it back up a bit? I'm gonna go get some water."</span>
"Ok." *MK nodded amiably as Josiah headed towards the cave entrance.* "Just bring some extra so we can throw it on Ibun. Maybe it'll wake him up."
"Well, this shouldn't take long. It's not like we have all that much food yet." *MK commented.*

<span style='color:teal'>Simeon brought in the basket Celebifly had dropped off and picked up one of the corn muffins. The embers of the fire were still very warm, so he proceeded to toast a few of the muffins on the coals. The smell of warm food woke Ibun, and the sound of his stomach growling could be heard by the rest of the team.
Taking one of the toasted muffins, Simeon accompanied Shauni to the hot spring and then headed off onto the woods to hunt. Cougar, moose, another bear? As long as it had fur...</span>

<span style='color:teal'>Simeon prowled about in the woods hunting.
It had been a few weeks after Team Sapphire had been marooned and the food shelf in their alcove (once stocked with various dried meats, fish, and wild fruits) was starting to run low. It was back to the hunt again... He had fashioned some bows and arrows in that span of time, and even taught a few of his reamaning teammates how to use the tools. In fact, Ibun was helping Simeon on this hunt.
The alcove looked a little different now. Since Simeon's last hunt, each of the bunks now had furs included in the bedding, and the little trickle near the mouth of the little cave had been turned into a water clock to count off the days and minutes and hours... not to mention Lady Shauni had quite a few nice drawings pinned up in her rabbit-skin veiled little niche (Shauni did need her privacy in a team that was mostly all guys ^^;; ). There were even candles and torch heads made out of tree sap to light the deeper parts of of the alcove. Josiah had even gone so far as to carve plates, bowls, utensils, and cups out of wood (and he's gotten pretty good at it, too.) as well as trinkets and pokemon figurines lining a small shelf in his part of the cave.
Life was still hard out in the wild, but it had been good since Team Sapphire was close knit now.
An arrow whizzed past Simeons head as a pheasant-like bird twitched as it was pinned to the tree he was crouched next to.
Simeon raised a paw out of the bushes and gave Ibun a thumbs up. <span style='color:purple'>A nervous laugh came from the bushes some 100 feet away.</span> Simeon couldn't help but chuckle himself as he pulled the bird off the tree and packed it into a leather satchel, tied to his bandolie,r saved for gathering small game. So far he had a three squirrels and a rabbit in there already, and the pouch was starting to get full.
Just then there was a rustle in the bushes. It wasn't Ibun, or a cougar... or a wolf... or a bear... No...
Simeon's fur stood on end. It was the same feeling he felt when he went to get water for the team a few weeks ago... Ibun shot an arrow in the noise's general direction, then ran like there was no tommorrow. Simeon did the same.

"AUGH!! I'M SORRYI'M SORRYI'M SORRYI'M SORRY!!!" Simeon dove into the bushes.
<span style='color:black'>"Warn me next time!!" Shauni reprimanded the lion-man. Then she noticed the usually brave lion-morph was shivering. "Simeon? What happened?"</span>
