*By the time everyone else woke, Josiah and Virgo were already gone. Meanwhile, in Josiah's secret room...*

"Shouldn't you get more sleep?" *Virgo asked as she helped him sort through a large stack of papers.* "I can go without for a while but it's way more important for humans.*

"Thanks for worrying." *He smiled.* "But there'll be plenty of time for sleep later. There's still so much more I need to know and so much that needs to be done and we're leaving tomorrow. I need all the time I can get right now."

"Ok..." *She smiled back but there was still a hint of worry in her voice.* "Look, I can take care of this. Why don't you go check on the pens?"

"Me?" *He looked up again.* "Are you sure you don't want to?"

"I go there often enough. Besides, you need to get out more. First the tournament planning and now this, you've been spending too much time cooped up inside. You should do the shopping too, while you're at it."

"But,"

"No buts, just go, take it easy. I'll have everything sorted by the time you get back."

"Thanks." *He rose and gave her a quick kiss.* "I'll let you know if I find out anything important. Later!"

((No finding Virgo, since she's in the very well hidden secret room. But you can run into me if you want. I'll be running around the island for a while.))

Neo and everyone else woke up to the smell of breakfast that Tsuekasa and Yomikko was preparing for everyone. Neo was the last one to wake though. He could be a deep sleeper when he wanted to. Finally Neo woke up.

"So, why are you sleeping on the couch? I saw you head for a bedroom last night."

"Well, lets just say it's abit of a long story Silver."

"We have time."

"I'm not in the mood for telling stories right now. I'm starving :)" The truth being he had started to think of his dream again. He was still puzzled on it's meaning and why he even been having it. Was it this rage of his? Did he really want to kill everyone he knows? He quitely ate breakfast and went oustide for a walk. He was gald Tsuekasa had made breakfast cause she would have to clean up and couldn't follow him. He thought about bringing Metalmorph out. He had been told of the dreams thus far. Soon Metalmorph was out of his card.

"Sleep well?"

"Yes no thanks to you. Not much to do when one is in a card. Did you sleep well?"

"No. I had that dream again." and Neo told Metalmorph about the dream.

"Well, that last part does distrube me abit. Not as much as other parts but still. I can't really think of a good reason why you are having the dreams as well cept it could be the darkness within causing them."

"I've had the same thought."

Shauni had watched Neo most of the morning, she had heard him call out in the night and she also felt an affinity for the man. He to was suffering from a darkness within him, as she was, but his seemed more connected to rage rather than random fluxes as hers was. Silver had been pressing the issue most of breakfast but Neo still refused to talk about it. After Neo had headed out for his walk Shauni had excused herself and was down following him.

"I've had the same thought." 
She had ear wigged there conversation and couldn't help but butt in
"Did you ever consider that your subconscious was trying to tell you something?"
Neo and his monster both jumped in alarm as Shauni just sort of appeared from nowhere
"Listen Neo, you and I are in the same boat here...maybe we outta look out for each other...I think I may be able to help you with this darkness thing of yours..."
"Really?"
She nodded and passed him a glass jar that contained some pills
"There anti depressants...if your darkness is connected to your rage like I think it is, it may help you stay calm...I tried them myself but my curse is based on something other than my mood."
Shauni began to walk of "They will help keep you calm if anything...I hope it works out for you. There also dream suppressive as well....they might stop your nightmares...."
"You know about that?"
Shauni sighed "What kind of person goes threw what we do and doesn't have nightmares?"

Neo looked at the bottle and watched Shauni walk off. The anti depressants might indeed help him controll the rage. He very much considered them. Then Neo shouted at Shauni "I have a felling I won't need the dream suppressive stuff. I have a felling that the dreams are over. It feel like they concluded last night."

Though Neo wasn't so sure. They might no continue but might just repeat over and over. Neo shook the idea out of his mind. They were over.

Also what she said about them looking out for eachother and her helping him he considered too. What ever was wrong with him someone might beable to help him with it. She was too affected with darkness from those blades of hers. Though hers was diffrent from his too. His felt strange and fimilar at the same thim. The reason was probably at the time of his mind and he didn't have the means to reach it.

Meanwhile in the forest near D-Edge

"Everything is now set up for them cept one part and I'll deal with it later. Once he leaves that is. All I need now is for them to come..."

*Having finished at the pens, Josiah was walking down the island's man road, his eyes fixed upon a letter. He was so engrossed in it's contents that he didn't notice David, who had left breakfast before the others, approach him.*

"You got a minute?"

"Huh?" *Josiah looked up to find David standing right next to him. After mentally hitting himself for not paying more attention, he answered.* "Yeah I guess so. I'm just buying some supplies for the trip. What's up?"

"Well, we've known eachother for a long time now. Tell me, do you think I'm a gamer or an NPC?"

"What brought this up?" *Josiah was thrown by the question.*

"Well, I've been thinking. When I first met all of you in Vahallo you guys said I was a NPC, although back then I didn't know what it meant. Not too long after that though, most of you called me a gamer. I don't know what to think. Growing up in Vahallo is the only life I remember but sometimes I have these dreams and..." *he trailed off.*

"I suppose it's hard to tell for certain." *Josiah decided to answer with simple truth.* "Let's see, how do I put this... Initially, your lack of real world memories would make me think that you're an NPC. But, back when we first met you, it was much easier to tell the NPCs from the humans than it is now. Back then they were more... Um, automatic, robotic if you will. They were clearly following their programming. However, over time they've evolved and today they're as human as any of us. I suspect that change was due to a combination of our prescence combined with the effects of Hellfire. Back then, you didn't act like one of the early version NPCs, you acted like one of us."

"So you're saying I'm either a gamer with fake memories or a early mutation of the NPC programming?"

"Those are both quite possible." *Josiah admitted.* "You may even be something else, a special program like Shauni, although you haven't shown any special powers..." *He looked his friend in the eye.* "But, in the end, you are you, no matter what your orgins. They don't matter to me or any of the others."

"Thanks." *David smiled breifly.* "You've given me a lot to think about. I'll see later." *He walked off and soon vanished around a corner, leaving Josiah to his shopping.*

Shauni had left Neo for a while to look for Josiah. She spotted David walking away from him near the shopping district of the island.

Shauni landed near Josiah, almost suddenly, making him jump a bit
"yo" she said lazily
Her eyes where a neutral Grey today, oddly, which was probably why she was feeling a little better about herself. She wasn't at an extreme of her physic this morning
Shauni eyeballed Josiah shopping
"Stuff for the 'quest'?" she asked
he nodded half heartily, wondering where she was going with this line of conversation
"Yes...why?"
"Anyway, Josiah, I was wondering if I could stick with you this morning. Yomikko has been driving me mental with her overbearing mussyness, and everyone else just keeps looking at me funny...I think they all think I'm gunna kill them the minute they turn there backs"
She sighed and her shoulders slumped.
Suddenly she got a whiff of noodles
She grabbed ahold of Josiah's hand and smiled at him
"Say, fancy some Ramen? I got addicted to the stuff last year. Don't worry its my treat!"

Neo and Metalmorph contunied on their walk in silence. Neo was just thinking and Metalmorph was busy looking at all the trees and stuff. Soon Neo turned and headed towards the town to look around. Neo was window shoping when a pair of hands covered his eyes.

"Guess who?"

"Gee, I wonder who it could be Tsuekasa."

"Correct." she said giving Neo a kiss on the cheak.

"Do you have to do that in public?"

"We are a couple."

"Speak for yourself.", Neo said in his mind. Though he did like Tsuekasa, it was the fact that he might leave this world was the reason why he never showed his fellings for her. It was hard to do back in D-Edge and one of the reasons why he had been gone so much as to not develope a strong attachment to her. Now that she was taging along, it wouldn't be easy to do again.

"So what are you up to today?"

"I thought I might try to do some more training today to hone on my skills. After battling Silver, I realized I still have work to do."

"Want me to help?"

"Sure. You were one of my better practice partners."

*Josiah followed Shauni to the ramen stand and watched as the man behind the counter prepared their orders. He felt like he should say something but he wasn't sure what. Shauni was his friend but she had been acting strange ever since the SOS incident and now those cursed daggers only made things worse. Fortunately, she seemed to be good Shauni right now, as was obvious by how friendly and cheerful she was acting. Actually, she seemed almost too friendly. Was it some sort of trick? No, no, he shook his head. If he let that line of reasoning take over he'd be looking at everyone with suspicion. Still, the way she took his hand, and that smile... Was it just a side effect of her split personas? Then again, the way she had been acting rather coldly towards Jeff. Was it possible that she had developed feelings for him now instead? Josiah sighed, wishing he could just stop over analyzing everything. But, with everything happening so fast, that didn't seem possible.*

"Something wrong?" *Hearing the sigh, Shauni turned to face him.*

"Nah." *he shook his head casually.* "Just thinking. Hey look, our food is ready!" *Josiah reached for his bowl. For now, he decided, he would just have to treat Shauni as he always had. But he'd have to be careful. There was no telling when she'd turn evil again. He could defeat her if needed when it happened, he was sure of that, but he didn't want to be taken by surprise.*

Shauni gently pulled Josiah towards the ramen stand.
The man behind the stand took her and Josiah's orders and began to make the ranmen.
She smiled warmly, she felt happy for the first time in a while. She was in extra high sprites right now for some reason, and instead of letting the thought despair her, she just enjoyed the warm feelings.
She suddenly heard a sigh come from Josiah.

"Something wrong?" Hearing the sigh, Shauni turned to face him.

"Nah." he replied, shaking his head casually.
"Just thinking. Hey look, our food is ready!" 
Josiah reached for his bowl. Shauni too did the same.
The bowl was warm to the touch, shauni placed money in the vendors hand and they both sat down at a table the vendor had set up to eat
"Say, Josiah. I was wondering why you decided the build this place. I heard about it on the grape vine why I was travelling but I never did find out why? Don't get me wrong, its a great idea...it just surprised me when I found out you where the commissioner of the arena."
Josiah looked up, stunned
"You would you ask that? Why is it so surprising I'd have an arena built?"
Shauni looked into his eyes, a flash of sadness crossed her face, but it was quickly replaced by a forced smile
"O nothing...I'm just talking silly...come on, lets eat the ramen before it gets cold..."
She began to eat, and Josiah excepted that this line of questioning would get him nowhere
"Actually Shauni...I have a question for you...if those daggers are just cursing you...why keep them at all? Why not throw them into the deepest caesium"
Shauni stopped eating "The daggers...they having a living entity within them that wish to be friend...I intend to purify the soul with the Ivy Staff and then free the sprite...in doing so a massive amount of energy will be released...I need to realise this energy in another world...like the data or shadow world...if they still exist..."
"Why can't you release it here?"
"The energy release would rip Orca apart..." Shauni closed her eyes
"This world has gone beyond its limits Josiah...the program is making itself larger and new NPC's are being born from the old ones. If the increase counties at this rate Orca will brake...theirs only so many places data can go..."
"What are you talking about?"
"A month ago, Sutra sent me an e-mail...it told me the server in which Orca is currently hosted is starting to run out of space...its going to brake....and Sutra can't transfer any data to a new server...she has tried. If Orca counties to grow in data it will be destroyed...by freeing the soul in these daggers...it will remove allot of data from Orca...it may buy us some time..."
She closed her eyes
"Why did you not tell anyone about this?"
"What would we have done Josiah? Tell people to stop growing? To remain hollow NPCs? to have no children? Not to change is to die..."

*Unsure what to say, Josiah turned back to his food. What Shauni had just revealed was disturbing yet it was nothing he hadn't already suspected. Orca had taken on a life of its own long ago but it had still come from a computer program. In it's current condition, the amounts of storage, badwidth, and processing power necessary to keep it going would be massive. Even if ROM was leeching power from all across the internet, as he believed, maintaining it would be difficult, especially without revealing its existence. Although he spent some time over the past year thinking about it, he had failed to find and concrete solutions, although there were a few vague ideas. Annoyingly enough, there seemed to be little he could do from within the system itself. After a minute he forced those thoughts aside. One problem at a time. This mysterious army and its leaders came first.*

"You asked why I built this place." *He spoke.* "I did it for a lot of reasons. For one thing, as much as I like traveling, it's nice to have a home to return to. Being on the road all the time gets tiring. I remember the first tournament we were in, way back on our first journey. We all had so much fun then, I wanted to give others a chance to experience that. I wanted a place where everyone can have fun, learn about monsters, and test their skills. I also wanted this island to be a place where all of us could gather and feel at home, even if it's just once in a while. Think about it. Sure we all seem to end up together when Orca is in danger but other than that we hardly see eachother. You and the others are my best friends and this is the first time we've seen eachother since Bowen's defeat."

*Shauni smiled.* "I never really thought of it that way before."

"Besides," *Josiah continued,* "this place also make a really convenient home base for a few other projects I have going."

"Other projects?" *She asked curiously. But Josiah refused to say any more on the matter.*

Shauni didn't press the issue.
"Ive finished my Ramen....is there anything else we need to get for our trip? I'll help you with the shopping"
She stood up, that same warm smile on her face
"Come on, we can get it done quicker if we both go"

Meanwhile....

"Is the machine ready?"
"Yes sir. All we need is the energy to power the machine and we can begin to create mass based on the equation you gave us"
"Excellent...."

Neo and Tsuekasa went over to the now empty arena. "This will be a 2 on 2 match. Is that ok with you?"

"Ok with me."

"Ok, I call Hot Wire to the battle." Neo held out his card and soon Hot Wire was out on the field.

"I'll summon Mystical Shining Ball!" A large shining ball of light appeared on the field. It has abit of a sloothing effect.

"Ok Hot Wire, use Zap Cannon!" A ball of charged energy formed at it's horn and shot out at Mystcial Shinning Ball.

"Counter with Light Bomb!" A ball of light energy shot out of MSB and collided with the Zap Cannon. An explosion followed as both attacks cancled the other out.

"I see you've been training Tsuekasa."

"Well, I did plan on beating you some day."

"Ok, lets speed things up abit. Use Power of Thor!" Hot Wire released a stream of lighting bolts that quicky found Mystical Shining Ball and locked on and released the full attack. Afterwords the monsters light was fading abit.

"Ok now you are asking for it. Wrath of God!"

"Oh boy. Try to dodge it!" Mystical Shining Ball released a powerful blast of energy that coverd the field. There was not much chance of escape. Once the attack cleared Hot Wire was still standing but not by much.

"I knew you could survive. Now finish this off using Earth Splitter!" Hot Wire sent a blast of electricty up into the air.

"Try dodging Mystical Shining Ball!" MSB was moving around on the field but soon the blast came right down onto it causing the earth under it to split while it was getting stuck. The light from MSB was almost out. "Lets tie this. Holy!" A powerful blast of energy was released in all directions from MSB. Hot Wire was struck and returned to it's card. Mystical Shining Ball did as well.

"I must comend you. You did well."

"Thanks."

"Since I didn't get to use him in the other fights here I'll use him now. Come out Raquezez!"

"So you are using your code monster. Whatever the code means. I still don't beleave ya. I'll call forth Soul of Purity and Light! Use Oversoul!" Soul of Purity and Light begain to glow as energy seemed to stream in.

"Trying to up your power huh, well Raquezez use Team Attack!" Neo waited to see what came next as Team Attack used one of his own monsters attack. Soon Raquezez was whipping up a wirlwind and sent it twords Soul.

"What the? Try doding it!" The Shreading Twister attack was dodged by Soul but it moved with it and soon Soul was trapped inside taking the damage. Soon the attack was done.

"Ok, use Pillar of Light!" Soul shot an energy blast into the air.

"Use Neo Destortion before the attack hits!" Raquezez sent a ball of energy at Soul. It hit but didn't seem to do much damage. "Darn the randomness of damage for that attack." Soon Pillar of Light was comming down. "Use Worp!" Raquezez formed a hole and quicky slipped through and out of harms way. It then reappeared right behind Soul. "Neo Distortion!" This time the attack struck with more force but still not enough to take it out.

"Ok use Heavenly Spear!" Soul sent an attack similar to Virgo's at Raquezez.

"Use Barrior!" Raquezez formed a barrior around it'self causing the attack to bounce off. But there was too many and soon the Barrior broke and Raquezez took the end of the attack. "You've been practing that move. Last time you used it it didn't last that long."

"Well I try. And oversoul helps too. Now use Light Blast!" Soul formed a circle of energy in it's hands and launched it at Raquezez.

"Worp!" Raquezez formed another escape rought and reappeared behind Soul. "Neo Distortion!" For being a random power attack Neo was sure lucky as the highest power of the attack made connection and Soul was returned to it's card. Though Raquezez didn't look good even being hit by the end of Heavenly Spear. "Darn the weak defence of this monster. Neo Distortion makes up for it's weak overall offence."

"Good work Neo. You are as strong as ever."

"Hey you didn't do half bad yourself. What do you say to some shopping and then head back to the house?"

"Sure."

So Neo and Tsuekasa spent the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon wondering around town and then headed to Josiah's house.

((Time to jump things ahead.))

*By evening, everyone had returned to Josiah's house. Josiah took the first oppertunity to slip away and talk to Virgo.*

"Is everything ready?"

"Yep, it's all set." *She handed him several sheets of paper and two small items, which he quickly pocketed.*

"Thanks. I owe you."

"It's no problem really. You've been working way too hard lately. You needed a change of pace. Besides, you have a better idea of what to bring on the journey than I do."

*They rejoined the others for dinner and everyone drifted off to bed soon after. Josiah woke them up early before the sun had even risen. They boarded one of the island's boats and headed off for Vahallo were the larger craft that Amhal had promised was waiting.*

"Where's Virgo?" *Shauni asked as she watched the island slowly shrink.*

"She had a couple things to take care of." *Josiah replied.* "She'll meet up with us soon." *He tapped his pendant.*

"I've been wanting to ask you," *David was standing nearby,* "what's the range on that teleportation thing anyway?"

"Something around twenty miles. More than enough to get from my island to Vahallo."

*Sure enough, no sooner had they disembarked then Virgo appeared at Josiah's side. Instead of her normal battle outfit, which everyone was used to seeing her in, she wore jeans and a cut off t-shirt. If they didn't know better, everyone would swear that she was just an ordinary girl.*

*Amhal's boat was waiting as promised although the prince himself was nowhere to be seen. Once everyone was aboard, Jeff took control and they set off into the unknown.*

Shauni sat on deck, two of her monsters where free from there cards, Pyrogothica and Omegan sat by her side.
She was watching the sea as the boat swiftly headed towards the direction of Onett. Merry Creek lay beyond a valley with a vase river west of Onett. Yomikko, Elder Codo and Emiel had come along for the ride, but Yomikko would leave the boat with Emiel at Onett. They where starting a family, and need not endanger themselves again.

Elder Codo would direct them threw the barrier at Merry Creek and they would enter the vast ocean that would take them to Cap-Cannon, the land in which the House of Deadly Sin waited...there latest enemy.

Shauni began to muse everything that was going on. Her mood had remained stable for most of the day, and she didn't question why. She mealy thanked karma that she was balanced for a while.

She began to throw a few stones she had picked up before disembarking into the ocean, watching them splash.

She sighed and closed her eyes, deciding to try and have a nap on her lounger on deck in the lull before the storm
