I need to know what the difference between Anime and real Japanese is.

To answer your question, Shans, Anime-Japanese is changed so that it it matches the mouth animations. They use words and phrases that aren't used anywhere in everyday Japanese.

Onanohito: woman, lady
Otokonohito: man

Sumimasen means Sorry/Excuse Me.
Although in "The Last Samurai" they translated it as Forgive me for my weakness. Iie, wrong.

Mini-dictionary (Japanese - English)
If there are any wrong translations please tell me.
- chan
Used as a suffix to a name if you are close to the person or if the person
is a child: Akane-chan, Kasumi-chan, Nabiki-chan, Ranma-chan ...
Also used for pets (and animals, especially if they are small and cute):
p-chan (pig-chan)
dojo
Translates simply as training-hall or training-center.
furo
the bath in a japanese house.
giri
Means duty, you can't dispose of this duty without a great loss of honour.
In other words no chance to get rid of it.
hai
Yes. Accepted. I will do it. Understood.
kami
A kami is a god or goddess. Since kamis are socially extremly high you
mention to them with the suffix -sama. So the wording kami-sama.
kata
This is a trainingform (exercise).
- sama
The suffix sama is used if you talk to a person that is much higher in the
society than youself or someone who holds your highest respect. For example,
god is referred to as kami-sama.
- san
A suffix to a name like -chan, but used for people you aren't close to and
who are of the same social rank or higher. You would normally adress Ranma
or Akane as Ranma-san or Akane-san.
sensai
Normally you adress teachers and other people who are supervising(training,
tutoring) you as sensai.
It's also used as honorific for people with a superior knowledge.
tadaima
Is a greeting, you'll use when returning home.
Yen ( Y )
The Yen is the japanese currency-unit.

sorry everyone I won't be able to help any more I"m not taking japanese 2 especily since I failed both semesters of it :P oh well I'm taking a nice computer class (I'm a comp whiz) so it says advanced studies computers and it's supposed to be an indiviudual study corse but it really is cyber corp in disguise where I go around and fix the computers so it sounds impresive on my transcript but I get the easy class ^_^

Not really. Slang kind of entails people talking like that somewhere.

(And yes, there is some real Japanese spoken in anime, but mostly, it's not what you wanna be learning.)
