The door open and Ziheu steped out "brother your back"

"Who are you" replied Ziheu

"I'm your brother, Spirn remember" said Spirn

"You are not, I'm Ziheu, I work for Master Veral, I have no brother"

"Yes, you are my brother" Spirn started to cry

"Hurry up kid, get in the room, oh! and don't bother trying to escape, we have powerproofed everything stronger" said on of the guards

"but I don't want to lose my memory" said Spirn

"You either do that, or die"

"I'd rather die than let you manipulate me" said Spirn

"Well I choose to manipulate you so get in" said the guard as he unstraped the boy and threw him into the room

"No!" replied Spirn

"That's it!" yelled the guard smashing him against the wall

"Well, he's kinda... sorta... maybe... he has power over electricity and he tries to kill everything that moves."

"...Oh. So... being with him is a bad thing."

"Yep, pretty much. I wonder if the guy's still alive."

"He's still on the map, but he's fading out..."

"Wow, he survived! Let's go see if we can find him..." They hurried off and found Trik and Krei, right where Trik had left them (XD) "Hey dude! Are you dead?"

"Where am I" said Spirn looking at his surroundings "I can't remember, What happened, Am I still alive, who am I, I'm so alone, Is anyone there" these thoughts echoed in his mind, the scientists were succesful in wiping out Spirn's memory's, every last one

"Ah! you are awake" said Master Veral "How do you feel"

"I...I....don't...know" replied Spirn

"*evil laugh* very good" said Master Veral

"Do you know who I am" asked Spirn

"Yes, of course, you are Spirn, brother of Ziheu, you work for me" said Spirn

"That can't be, I don't remember this" said Spirn

"Of course you don't, your memory was erased"

"What am I" asked Spirn

"You are an elemental, just like me and your brother, we were granted with special powers" said Veral "That's why we have to work together"

"OK, I think I understand" said Spirn getting of the bed

"Now you have to go"

"go where" 

"destroy the other elementals"

"Why"

"They could be a threat" and with that Spirn teleported out of there

"Um...Silver, I don't think he's a zombie" said Kay

"Of course I'm not, at least I don't think I am" said Krei trying to stand up "I can't stand"

"He needs medical attention, too bad all the doctors would probebly thy and kill us" said Kay

Spirn appeared behind them "DIE!!!" said Spirn shooting energy bolts at the group

The group dodged the energy "What are you doing, this isn't like you" said Kay

"Yeah, what's wrong with him"

"I'm not the one with a problem, that's YOU!" He shot more energy at the group. Silver pulled Krei out of the way and let him rest behind a building, Kay dodging the energy and Shadow sliding into the shadows.

"This is for your own good!" Shadow shouted, emerging from Spirn's shadow and firing a shadow ball at him. Since it was close ranged he couldn't fully dodge it, but he did manage to get away from most of the damage by turning to the side.

"Who do you think you are, Trik?" Silver asked sarcastically, his fists firing up as he fired a punch at Spirn.

"I don't know any 'Trik'." Spirn teleported behind Silver and fired more energy at him, knocking him to the ground. Before Spirn could get away again, Silver kicked to his rear and caused Spirn to join him on the ground... but somehow, Silver's foot caught on fire as he kicked.

"Woah, I thought only your hands could do that."

"So did I..."

"Who cares if you can burn your feet off" said Spirn sarcasticly

"Hey! Spirn what happened to you" said Kay

"What do you mean" asked Spirn

"I never wanted to do this to family but..." Kay walked up to Spirn and tried to punch him, but Spirn dodged it

"What do you mean by family" said Spirn

"I am your sister"

" I have only a brother, you can't fool me!" Spirn blasted energy at Kay

"Nice try!" said Kay turning the energy into a big rock

"How did you do that?!?!" said Spirn

"I do have other powers" said Kay

"You won't stop this" said Spirn blasting more energy than before

"No! I can't convert that much" said Kay. The blast caused the area to glow

"Ha! I win!" said Spirn

"No you don't" said Kay

"but how" 

"It runs in the family" said Kay "Now Silver!! knock him out!"

"OK" replied Silver lighting up his hands. Silver hit Spirn over the head.

(Ah... Perfect. I can work with this. Really long post time!)

~Chapter 5: Far from Refuge ~

Simeon awoke on the floor of a lab. Titanium bracers were clasped onto his wrists as was a thick high-tech collar around his neck. He sat up, only to notice that his bullet-proof vest was taken from him.

He stood slowly, hearing voices outside of the sealed lab conversing amongst themselves...

"Alpha is active."

"Bringing Omega online. Initializing."

Simeon heard a sickening "slurch" followed by gurgling as the fluid in Omega's stasis tank began to drain away. The glass casing slid away, allowing the the limp form of the boy to fold to the floor. Simeon gathered the immobile boy into his arms. The child moaned and opened his eyes. At first, the boy tensed in shock, seeing that his father was a lion-morph... but he relaxed, sensing Simeon's gentleness.

"A-are you my father?"

"Yes, Joshua... I am..."

Painfully, the boy responded to Simeon's gentleness by feebly attempting to hug the black-furred lion-morph. Simeon just cradled his clone-son closer. Simeon felt like crying. The boy was sincere... none his actions were being controlled...

"How touching..." Feral sneered, entering the lab "Almost like a father and his son."

Simeon was choking down tears of fatherhood and rage, "Joshua IS my son, Feral. What do you know about fatherhood? Do you even know what you've done to your own son!?"

The words seemed to cut Master Feral deeply. It seems that Simeon had struck a nerve. ( it's -Feral-... not -Veral-...><;; )

"You spout too much -wisdom- for your own good, Alpha." Feral growled as he walked for the lab door, "Enjoy your time with your 'son'... This will be the last time you'll see each other as you are now..."

"Father?"

"Yes, Joshua?"

"I'm scared... What will they do to us?"

Simeon just hugged his son tightly. "I don't know... my son... I don't want to know..."

Umbreos Feral paced in his office. Simeon's words had really cut deep... It was almost 25 years ago...

"My, my, father..."

"Megiddu?! How--"

"It's -Ragnarok- now..." The young man snapped, then he sat in Feral's chair, "You can't keep dissapointing me like this, father... I thought you re a bit more... cold-blooded... After that little accident that created us... tainted me and my brother... that slowly killed both mother and my body... Trik could barely handle me when you transplanted my spirit into his body...."

"..."

"That lion-man was right... you're a terrible father."

"How can you say that, Megiddu!?" Umbreos snarled, his body crackling with energy, "I was trying to make this world a Utopia for our kind! I was trying to save you AND your brother! All this suffering must come to make us stronger as a race.. and what have you been doing?! Terrorizing and destroying everything we need to survive?!"

"Feh... I was just following your wishes, father...I am cleansing this world by hunting down the weak and the useless... And ENDING their misery..." Ragnarok clenched his fist and a little electricity crackled, "You and I still need each other for our existances... It's the only thing keeping me from killing you and taking back my birthright. We will see each other again, father." Ragnarork vanished into the wiring of the building, "Be sure of it."

"I'll be ready for you, Ragnarok..."

"Master Feral?" A voice crackled into the office intercom.

"What is it, Dragoon?"

"Alpha and Omega are ready for their Tech upgrades."

"I'm coming... I want to see that lion-man squirm..."

Simeon didn't even bother struggling as the scientists strapped him down to a lab table. He knew his time as Simeon was coming to a close, and all his pain would end. At the least he got to spend his last moments with his clone son, Joshua... who happened to be 30-feet away, stuggling against his restraints.

Umbreos Feral appeared in a second level viewing window, shaken but sneering. Simeon looked away.

<Father... I'm scared...>

<Don't be, Joshua... It'll be over soon.>

"Make this quick... I don't want the boy to suffer anymore than I have to..."

Lance Dragoon was overseeing this. Under the shadow of his helmet, Lance's eyes shifted. He then leaned over and whispered into Simeons ear, "Be patient. All will go smoothly..."

Smeon sensed assureance in Lance's voice... What was Dragoon up to?

"Boss?"

"Yes?"

"Shall we proceed with erasing their memories?"

"No. These two need their minds intact. I'm sure the new restraining collars and bracers will be enough to keep them in check. Proceed with the armor installation."

"Yes, sir."

Simeon closed his eyes as the new armor sealed itself onto his body. A "robocop" like visor was placed on his face, to give his head some protection.

"Alpha has been fitted."

"Omega has been fitted."

"Activating armors..."

"What the--"

<Father?! What's happening?>

<I...I don't know.>

The armors sparked in key places. Suddenly, a power surge blew out all the equipment... including all the security cameras and restainging devices... allowing Simeon to break loose.

Then, the lights went out. There was screaming, shouting, and roaring.

"Dragoon!" Feral shouted, "Dragoon, can you copy?"

While the lights were out, Lance handed Simeon a holodisk and told him not to view it until both Simeon and Joshua were safe. Knowing what he had to do last time, Simeon gave his friend a good-bye and a blessing of saftey... then conked him in the head hard. It was the only way to keep the alibi... They needed Lance... and he was best in his position. Simeon grabbed Joshua and used the powers he has copied from Spirn and teleported away.

"Spirn?"

"Oww... I... I'm sorry...."

"Seems to be snapping out of it..."

Kayla looked at her map and her eues widened, "Guys... It looks like they sent out the big guns..."

"Big guns?" Silver asked, looking confused.

"There are two Tech Elementals coming our way... and they're... teleporting?"

Simeon and Omega appeared as Trik, Spirn, and Krei were starting to wake up...

The two new Tech Elementals stood there, imposing in their new armor: Simeon in a steel blue and Joshua in a deep, muted red. The Lion-morph removed his visor and smiled all friendly like. Same old Simeon.

"Lady Kayla? Master Spirn?" he asked.

"Hello."

"Master Spirn?"

"Pardon him," Shadow bowed, "We just learned Spirn's memory was wiped..."

"Oh..." Simeon's ears folded down.

"What happened to you?" Silver asked, eyeing the slightly scroched armor, "And who's the kid?"

"Long story..." Simeon answered, "Right now... we need to get back to the forest while there is still turmoil back the FHSS Labs..."

The lights turned back on, as Lance sat up and collected his dented helmet.

"What happened?"

"Ask the scientists, sir. I was just doing what I was assigned to do: making sure these simpletons did their job."

"I'll do just that. Now, get that bump looked at, Dragoon. That's the second time you've been struck down in two days..." And Feral walked away.

<It's done, Simeon, old friend. I'll be joining you and Joshua soon.> And Dragoon walked down the hall to the infirmary.

-The lakeside, deep inside Haven Forest-

After the gorup had reintroduced themselves, and Simeon had forgiven Trik of his actions under the influence of the dark spirit, Simeon showed Kayal the holodisk and asked if she could activate it. She nodded.

Kayla's hands glowed as she took the disk from Simeon. The image of a high-tech dragoon appeared.

"Simeon. This disk has some answers I have not been able to tell you when I helped you escape... After I had learned of Projects Alpha and Omega Leo, I took it upon myself to sabotage the projects in the most indirect way possible. If you are seeing this disk, it means I have succeeded in the sabotage and you and Omega have escaped to safety."

Silver and Shadow stepped back... the boy that was with Simeon was Omega...

"... Your armors will augment your powers... not restrain them... plus, all tracking, monitoring, and restraining devices have been destroyed, so you may use these armors without fear.... Simeon as you are watching this, I am preparing to join you and Omega in Haven Forest. I am adding a hidden tap into all of the FHSS lab computers so we may still obtain information on the activites of our ememies...

"...Gather up any Elementals you can trust, old friend. We must start a small group of freedom fighters. Feral claims that he is trying to strengthen us through suffering... He has this insane notion that he can make this world a utopia for Elementals... I doubt it's the kind of utopia we want... This last bit of info has helped me decide that I don't want to serve under Feral anymore.

"... I'll see you soon, Simeon. Lance, out."

Kayla handed the disk back to Simeon.

"Be safe, old friend..."

Lance smiled as the guards looked over the "dead" body in streets. They only shook their heads and dragged it to the incinerator, not checking to see if the body or the armor was real.

It worked. The whole suicide act worked. Feral fell for it, hook, line, and sinker.

Now... Lance was in the woods. He hoped he could find Simeon... and soon.

"What, huh, what just happened" said Spirn "OK! now I'm more confused than ever"

"Spirn, cut back on the thinking for awhile, OK?" said Kay

"So..Where is Haven Forest" asked Silver

"That's what I'm here for" said Kay, her hand lit up and showed a map. "OK let's go"

"What happened" said Trik getting up of the floor

"Ahh! Trik's alive"

"Stay calm, he's the Trik you once knew"

"Uh... wasn't Trik always evil and 'trigger happy', I guess you could say?"

"No, I think that was just because of that evil element spirit or something..."

"Oh, ok. You're not gonna try to kill us, right?"

"N-no..."

"Ok! And now, you." he turned to Omega, "Weren't you the kid that was like... floating in that... uh... thing?"

"...what thing...?" he asked, as if he was deathly afraid of Silver

"You know... the thingy thing."

"Father... he's scaring me..." Omega hid behind Simeon

"Aw... a little bit of stupidity never hurt anyone..." Shadow said comfortingly, totally dissing Silver there.

"Wait... did you just say father?" he asked, then realizing what Shadow said. "Hey!"

"Yes, this is my son, Joshua... or 'Prjoect Omega'."

"Can I just call 'im Josh?" Silver interupted

"And I'm sure Master Silver's completely harmless... in a sense..."

"Uh... did I miss something?"

"What's to miss? This is Josh, and that's his Daddy, Simeon."

"Well then who's Omega?"

"Him!" Silver pointed at 'Josh'

"But you just said he's Joshua!"

"Yeah!"

"So... he's Joshua and Omega?"

"Yes."

"Then why didn't you just say so?!"

"I thought I was making it pretty obvious." As Silver continued to try to explain the situation to Trik, Kay and Spirn with very little success, Shadow went over to talk to Joshua and Simeon.

"So... Feral said you can copy abilities by seeing them once..."

"Y-yes..."

"Then I'll have to show you my powers... they might help you later."

"In the forest. We can't wait around here any longer..."

"Right. Let's go. You guys coming?"

"Joshua... and Omega?"

"Yes!"

"Then who's Simeon?"

"I think they'll ctach up later..."

*Ragnarok sat in a tree. He chuckled softly at all the bickering going on. He then noticed something...

Simeon showed Kayal the holodisk and asked if she could activate it. She nodded.

*Ragnarok waved his hand as a Dome of lightning surrounded The 2.*

Simeon looked around at the mouth of their new cavern hideout. "I would have sensed him by now, Master Trik... In fact... the link he and I share as Tech Elementals has been severed... Something terrible has happened to him."

The lion-morph spread his semi-cybernetic wings and summoned a spear of pure energy. Placing his protective visor on his face, Simeon turned to his new team, "Watch Joshua for me, friends. I'm looking for Lance."

"Betray us, eh? Wait until father hears the truth about you, Dragoon..."

Lance was laying, twitching in the corner of another cavern. He had been shocked so hard, he was barely clingling to life.

"That Lion-man will be coming for you, no doubt, traitor." Ragnarok sneered placing shadow -harges in key places in the cave, "And when he arrives, he'll be in for quite a surprise..."

Lance felt compelled to obey Ragnarok. He was so weakened, he no longer had the mental discipline to fight of the miond control.

"When Alpha arrives, you will fight him. I've rigged this cavern to collapse as soon as one shadow-charge is exploded. This will be your final act in serving the Feral clan, Dragoon. Die with honor."

"LANCE?!"

"He's here, Dragoon. To your duty."

"Yes... Master Ragnarok...."

When Ragnarok vanished, Simeon flew into the cavern. "Lance! Are you okay.... no..."

"I will die with honor, Alpha... And you will come with me!!"

"Ok, so Joshua and Omega are the same person, and Simeon's his dad... so how does Jimmy tie into that?"

"'Jimmy' was simply a metaphorical character used to further my point."

"Well he just made it a heckuva lot more confusing."

"You've REALLY got to stop trying to explain things..."

"So, while we wait... what kind of abilities do you have so far?"

"...Not many... I just got out. But I saw you go into a shadow, so I think I can do that..."

"Uh-huh... Let me see what I can do about that. If what that Lance guy said is true, we all need to toughen up... and that'll be easiest for you. So long as you're on our side..." Shadow floated into the air and fired a shadow ball at Silver, who instinctively fired up his hands at the thought of being under attack.

"Hey! What was that for?!"

"For our little friend over here... There's three powers at once. Just think about it! He can use all of our powers! And there's no limit to how many he can get!"

"Yeah, but that's gotta be tough on the lil' guy... I mean-"

"I-I can take it... I was created to be Mister Feral's ultimate weapon..." Joshua interupted sadly.

"Great. Now the poor kid's gonna grow up with a major complex. Just great."

"Well it woulda been worse if he was still with Feral."

"Yes, Now go get them"

Just after this Ziheu appeared infront of all of them "Hello, Brother, Sister help me capture Omega"

"Why should we" said Kay

"because some people might get....hurt!" said Ziheu feindishly

Just then, Ziheu let out a ray of red light that hit everyone

"Ha! that didn't hurt" said Silver trying to light up his hands

"Looks like I get the last laugh, Feral has given me the power to disable your" said Ziheu

"Now brother sister, you will come with me" said Ziheu using his mind controling ability

"Yes brother" said Kay and Spirn in unison

"And you too will come, Omega"

"I don't think so" said Shadow "It looks like you missed me" . Shadow hit Ziheu down

"You win this time, but I have the family back together" said Ziheu as him, Spirn and Kay teleported out of there

Ah yes... Project Omega... while i was Busy messing with Feral, i decided to spy on his projects... The young boy with the power to use the powers of other Elementals... The "Thief"... Hmm hmm hmm... You know, that's probably why I'm here, and not using any of my powers... 

That doesn't stop us from using our powers...

Yes... you see, that was Ziheu's job...

Oh yeah...

I just came to tell you that Simeon won't be returning...

*Ragnarok starts acting all mournful... even though it is just an act...*

Done in by his own friend... Dragoon... Lance... It's all quite sad really...

*Ragnarok starts walking around them. *

Yes little boy... that's right... Daddy won't be coming home... It's all sad... Boo hoo...

*Ragnarok laughed and started walking away...*

*Trik is instantly silenced as a spear goes flying through his shoulder. Ragnarok walks up and grabs Trik by the throat*

You know... if your going to tell a villain's weakness... do it when he's not around...

"...Father won't be back...?" Joshua asked, tears forming in his eyes.

"I-I'm sure it's not true... he's a liar, it's not smart to believe anything he says." Silver said comfortingly. Josh tried to shrug off the thought, but...

"Just like the part about him being able to beat us." Shadow added in a cocky way. She was hoping he'd come back and use his powers so Omega could copy them and send his attacks right back at him.

"What kind of fool do you take me for? I don't have time for your little games anyway... but I WILL be back, count on it." And with that, he disappeared out of sight.

"I hate those show-offy types... C'mon Josh, I'll show you how to run. Well, as soon as my powers come back..." He tried to flare up his fists... and after several unsuccesful attempts, he managed to shrug off the power-blocking effects of Ziheu's attack. "Got it! Now watch..." He ran in a circle with incredible speed... until he crashed into a tree, at least. "Darn it! Why do I ALWAYS do that?!"

(I've decided to type up a new synopsis for this RP, plus updated bios and locations... if that's okay with you guys... ^^ Shans might need to stick them into his first postie though, ROM-style...)

(I'm also imposing an "All-Heroes-MUST-Survive" rule. None of the heroes die unless everyone agrees on it. It's better handling all the deus ex machina than setting up people to die left and right... XD)

The battle was intense. Clanging spears, straining metal, falling rocks, shouted obcenities, and the echoes of the cavern amplified the sounds and the screaming wind.

Both opponents were sporting deep gashes in their Tech armors, with wounds showing through the gaps.

"Lance! Snap put of it!"

"That won't work this time, Alpha." Dragoon hissed, backing up to a wall, "Now... we die!" And he jammed his spear into a hidden shadow-charge.

"NO!" Simeon screamed as he tackled Lance. In a heartbeat, the cavern exploded and collapsed around them...

"FATHER!" Joshua shouted suddenly. He dashed for the cavern hideout entrance and looked around as the rumbling echo of a loud explosion accompanied the high plume of dust over the forest.

Then, Simeon's face mask fell from the sky, landing scorhed and dented at Joshua's feet. Joshus kneeled to pick it up, then leaned on the cavern threshold to hide his tears. "He can't be dead..." he sobbed quietly, "Not so soon..."

Shadow and Silver had followed Joshua and stood nearby. They decided not to get too close because of how potentially powerful Joshua was getting. The last thing they wanted was Joshua getting anymore upset than he was now.

Suddenly, Simeon teleported at the cave entrance, barely carrying a limp, armored body under one arm. Both were scorched, burned, and beat up, rocks wedged into the gashes in the armor and both were coated in a layer of soot and dust.

Simeon looked weary and close to fainting as he lay the silver-armored Tech Elemental down next to him and placed a glowing paw on the Elementals head. "Spirit Purify... Healing..."

A few tense moments passed as the wounds on the silver-armored Elemental healed... Then Simeon collapsed.

"Father! Father?" Joshua kneeled next to the wounded and unconscious lion-morph, "Father... Wake up...."

"Ungh..." Dragoon was coming to. Shadow and Silver braced themselves in case Dragoon went bersek, too. "Simeon," he whispered in delirium, "Why didn't you just let me die? After what I did? They might do that to me again..."

"Lance... You are my friend... I forgive you..."

"Father?"

Simeon slipped back into silence.

"Father?"

Lance sat up, removed his helmet, and threw it at the wall. "But I can't forgive myself, old friend... I can't forgive myself..." 

Shadow walked up to Lance, "You will be able to in time... but we need your help to tend to Simeon and Trik. Tell us what we need to know while we try to settle down..."

( 30 minutes later... )

"So let me get this straight, you were trying to set up a way for us to keep tabs on Feral's operation..." Krei summarized, "But since Ragnarok caught you, your efforts were wasted?"

"Yes..." Lance said, looking at Joshua as the boy tended to Trik's throat and spear wound, "I learned how to build computers and how to hack at a very early age before I was captured by Feral's organization. I was hoping to put my skills to use for our cause as freedom fighters. Now, Feral will be expecting us to use his systems against him, therefore, we are left in the dark with our own devices..."

Simeon was sleeping soundly nearby. It was very energy draining to use Spirit Purify... Lance pulled out a small Spirit Orb from his self-repairing armor.

(FYI: Tech armors reapir themselves over time. Fortunately, the tracking devices, restraining devices, and all that nasty stuff cannot be reapaired.)

"What are you doing?" Trik croaked as he watched Lance walk up to Simeon.

"Thanking him for saving my life. He'll need this." And Lance placed the orb in Simeon's paw watching the glow of the orb fade away slowly.

"What did you give Father, Master Lance?"

"Your power, Joshua. Spirit Scan. You and your Father were meant to work together as a team and that means you can share powers both of you have collected."

"That explains how Josh was able to use Healing... Simeon got that from... Spirn..."

There was silence in the cavern.

"There were others here?"

The rest of the group nodded.

"A boy named Spirn and his sister Kayla... their brother Ziheu kidnapped them..."

"... used an ability that jammed our powers."

"... It looked like this..." Joshua spoke, zapping Silver with the red flash.

"Spirit Block. So... It's been put into play... This could be a good and a bad thing..."

"You seem to know alot about these powers, Lance..."

"My armor collects them, and I did a great deal of reasearch on Element Spirits... So, yes, I can identify them."

"Then teach us about the Element Spirits, Lance."

"Be glad to."

The night was spent learning about the Element Spirits, and the following morning was spent searching the woods and junkyards for computer parts... and a new hideout.

A new freedom-fighter base was set up in a hidden cave. It was much more comfortable in comparison to how they had lived during the past few years...

Krei helped Lance calibrate a jamming signal and cloaking device for their new cavern base...

While Trik, Shadow, and Silver went out to find Spirn and Kayla... Hopefully... it wasn't too late...
