ROM 3: Shadows of Souls

Shaunisa felt a weird sensation up her arm, like cold wind biting at her skin
"Aww..." she whispered
"Whats wrong?" asked Yomikko, it seemed no one esle had hured her
Shaunisa closed her eyes, and lended into Yomikko
"I dont think this body is stable enought Yomikko...I think...I think I might..."
"What??" she asked in concern, very loudly, making the others turn around
Shaunisa's face tured bright red
"Um...I just need to lie down..."
She walked away from the others, as she faced a different direction her face changed from embraced...to concern

*I think theres something wrong with me...* she thought, the sensation now down her whole left side....

MUSTIADO, WHAT WERE YOU DOING INSIDE DAKU?

"..." He was silent. He only knew of one way out of this. "RUSTIE, EMBROID YOUR ENERGY TO ME!" He took his double-ended spear out, and drew a circle in the ground with it, along with an aincent symbol. The ROM card glowed, and sprung from Mustiado's back were Rustie's wings "These will do..." And he flew away.

"Holy Fudge Crackers! I thought only J could do that! Maybe when he's good, he can fuse souls, but when he's evil, he can only pull them apart."

"There's so little we know about him..."

"What's he up to..."

"We got to figure out what he was doing inside Daku, what Mustiado is up to, and where Hellion went."

"It must be that spear..."

"What's that Josiah?"

"Nothing..." He then drifted off into his memory.

Shaunisa had not been looking at Daku or the others, she was to busy looking at her arm the whole time...as she inspected it she noted her skin was harding..

"so...its already begining..."
A shy, timid tremble consumed her body
"I'm already petrifying...."

She looke dover at the others as the sound of daku taking of into the air distracted her
"Daku...hes getting away"

She ran over, but he had already gone when she got there

...I think flying away counts as running away... and seriusly! I'm starting to think you keep having him run away because you don't have a logical reason for Daku to be Mustadio!))

"Wait... we're inside, right?"

"Then how far could he possibly have gotten? And besides, Rustie wasn't even that fast. I would know. I think..."

"Then what are we waiting for?"

"I think we're waiting for Shauni..."

((So basically going to Hellion's fortress was mostly a waste of time since Hellion ran away and now you had Daku run away too? You know pokchu, at some point you've gonna have to explain the connection between Daku and Mustadio and at some point you're going to have to let us actually beat your characters for good. If not we'll just do it ourselves. All this last minute escaping is getting on my nerves. And what's with me talking about a spear? Why would my character know anything about a spear? Course, I could make something up... Anyway, I'll be doing a full ROM post in the morning that should help get things back on track, at least a little.))

"Damn it! I'm not letting him get away!" *Josiah ran off without waiting for the others. His speed had been enhanced since he'd taken Hi-a-osie's powers and flying really didn't give much of an advantage indoor. He caught up with Mustadio/Daku at the entrance.* "Zodiac Sky!" *The attack smashed Mustadio against the wall, shredding his wings and knocking the spear from his hand.* "Bull Blaster!" *The next attack destroyed the spear, leaving Mutadio weaponless.* "Ok, I'm out of patience! You may look like our friend but you're going to talk and you're going to do it now!"

"Yeah, you got him!" *Silver and the others finally caught up with Josiah.*

"Quick, surround him so he doesn't escape again." *The group formed a circle around Mustadio as Jeff took the Shadow of Souls' cards away.*

"Now," *Josiah's eyes narrowed,* "it's time for some answers."

((Ok pokchu, I've had enough. You get one more chance to explain things. If you take too long to get it done or have Daku escape again I'm doing my own explantion.))

Shaunisa was uneasy about the way Josiah was standing over Daku, she remebered how kind Mustadio had been to her

She walked past the others who had formed a circle around to two figures, Daku was no pushed to the floor, and Josiah held the zodiac sword to his neck

"Josiah..." she spoke placing her hand on his arm, his glare still fixed on Mustadio
"Shauni...ive had enough of all this...I just want answers...dont try and talk me out of this"

She closed her eyes and sighed a little
"I was going to try and talk you out of this...I was just going to tell you something"

he still didnt remove his glare from Mustadio
"Tell me what?"
"We are not safe here...there is a place in this palace where we can bind him, and get answers"
"Of course! the dungion! If we lock him up, we can get answers from him without the risk of him pulling anything!"
Josiah still held the blade to him neck
"Please Josiah...the one that shows the compasionat hand is the one that gets its rewoard"

Opal awoked from her nap.
"Wha...what happened? Where's the group...where's my card? Where am I?" Opal jumped up, not knowing what was going on or where she was.

"Hmm....it seems that my uninvited guest awakened. Maybe I should meet up with her..." Bowen thought

"He would be safer in the prison cells." *Josiah motioned for Mustadio to get up. The group led him down stairs and locked him in the cell Silver had been in.*

"Good. There's no way he can escape from that."

"Now," *Jeff faced Mustadio,* "how about telling us what's going on?"

((:o Gah. He needs to get away from you guys. The problem is, if he tells you, Hellion will know, and the whole operation is down the drain. -_-; If it really comes to it, I'll just post an explantaion tonight. Now that Opal is out in the open, I need Mustiado to meet her. --'))

((...I do have an explanation, but if he tells them, Hellion will sense it, and try to kill Mustiado. And Mustiado must meet Opal because he wants to run away with her, as she's the only one who doesn't know who he 'really is'. He wants to run off with her and work beside her as two bounty hunters. It's because he realizes the group has become too hostile towards him to try to understand. :o))

((Bounty hunters? What the !@#$%??? Pokchu, have you ever considered that Opal might not want to go along with your plan? Besides, this is getting ridiculous. 1: Hellion would have no way of knowing what Mustadio tells us. 2: We're not hostile towards Mustadio. He fought with us not too long ago against Moen's army. We've had to deal with friends being possessed by evil before. We're just trying to figure out what's going on so we can help him. 3: You're just assuming Opal will go along with this which I doubt she will. You're getting dangerously close to god-modding again. I'm doing my own thing for Mustadio. Sorry pokchu but I think everyone else will back me up on this. Although, to be fair, if everyone else thinks your idea is better I'll change my post.))

"Argh!!!" *Mustadio clutched his head and crumpled to the floor, writhing in pain.*

"Mustadio! What's wrong with him?"

"I know this feeling..." *Virgo stepped forward cautiously.* "It's just like when Hellion tried to take control of Josiah with dark energy. But by now the energy is firmly rooted inside Mustadio. When we defeated Daku and destroyed his spear the energy lost its focus and Mustadio is trying to break free but I don't know if he can make it."

"You can help him, right?" *Even Josiah was looking worried.* "You helped me."

"But it was different. You had yet to be infected, he's already far gone. I can try but I don't know if I can make a difference."

"Maybe we can together." *For a moment the group wasn't sure who had spoken. Varna was so silent that they had all but forgotten about him.* "I'm a healer and I can see what's wrong. If we combine our powers there may be a chance." *He held out his hand to Virgo.*

"Ok. Let's do it." *They both stepped into the cell and laid their hands on Mustadio.*

*The young man screamed at their touch and tried frantically to break free but they held him firmly. After what seemed like an enternity, Mustadio shuddered and fell still as a dark shadow floated out of his body and vanished. At the same moment, Virgo and Varna collapsed.*

"Fudge crackers! Are they ok?"

"Yeah." *Josiah was already at Virgo's side.* "Looks like they're just exhaused. Maybe this will help." *He drew the zodiac sword.* "Twin Healing!"

*When the light faded all three began to stir. Josiah, Jeff, and David quickly helped Virgo and Varna out of the cell then turned thier attention to Mustadio as his eyes flickered open.* "You, you saved me... Thank you..."

"Hey, don't think you're off the hook that easily! I want and explantion!"

"David, don't,"

"No, he's right. I couldn't control the things I did as Daku but I caused you all a lot of trouble and I'm sorry. My mind is a bit of a blur right now but I'll tell you what I can remember. After I left you guys I went home and defended my village from Moen's army. During that time I met a boy, a human like you named Benjeman. But something was wrong, an evil force was trying to control him. I helped him, trying to keep the evil at bay but then the collapse came. I suppose you know more about that than me. He and I were seperated during the collapse and when I found him again it was too late, the boy I knew had been completely taken over by Hellion. But I couldn't just give up, I had to try to save him but, in the process, I was swallowed by the darkness as well. When he gave me that spear you destroyed I didn't think anything of it. But it was a trick, using it opened me to the darkness and I became Daku, losing myself, losing the light. But, thanks to you, I have another chance. If it's ok, I'd like to travel with you again. I still think Benjeman can be saved. I have to try one more time."

"And if you fail?"

"Then I'll help you fight. One way or another, Hellion must be stopped."

"I believe you." *Josiah smilled and held out his hand, which Mustadio shook.* "Is everyone else with me?" *The others nodded.* "Good, then let's go defeat Hellion together."

"Um, excuse me. Can we eat and sleep first? Please?" *The others laughed but Silver was right, it had been a long time since they'd taken any time to rest.*

"Ok. But let's get out of this place first."
