Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
OMG 8 hours of how too videos on Moodle...boring!
Now they want me to do a training course for legal legislation for exporting electrical goods overseas.
I get all the good training *sigh*
I've finally got to play Season 2 of the Walking Dead on my kindle. Episode 3 is behind everyone else but what I've seen so far I've liked.
Made me cringe when Clem was...fixing her arm though, bla.

Hullo again!
So I've decided to finally cave in and start watching Doctor Who. And I will admit it took me until halfway through the second season before I actually started to get into it. And I'm still only at a point where I like the show and am not completely enraptured with it or anything, but I do like it well enough.
Also I'm real-personing! Well, kind of not really. I went grocery shopping, mailed a package, gardened and made a meal that was more than just heating up things in the microwave. Totally real-personing. Yeah.
Real-personing aside, yesterday I was practicing mace moves with my drum major mace. I managed to not impale myself when practicing high throws, so everything seems to be going pretty well.
Also, I should really get to reading those research papers.. yeeeeahhhhh....

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey,
Well...I just had the most intense rush of adrenaline I've gotten in probably a year or so. I found one of the biggest Yellow Jackets I've ever seen buzzing around my front door. Let it be known that I have a horrible fear of bees and bee-like creatures. Luckily, I was about to pull myself together enough to grab the Raid and drown the little punk in it.
After I courageously vanquished the ne'er-do-well, I then got the wonderful idea to go outside and spray down the door frame so no other bugs would get in for a while (we do occasionally get ants this time of year). I got out there, started spraying...and then heard a loud buzzing from behind my head.
I shrieked like a little girl and got back inside real quick.
Well, bees and other buzzy flying insects...all I can say is that this means war.

Hi! About to start my last day or touring in the Shanghai area (though not in the city itself). Then tomorrow, it's off to Nanjing! Gotta say, the time consuming visa process and a few train ticket annoyances aside, traveling in china has been a whole lot simpler than I expected. Expect a big travelogue update on PV tomorrow.
On Doctor Who, I though it was decent a few episodes in but yeah, didn't get especially into it until season 2. I'm not a super fan or anything, but it's fun and I wish they'd hurry up and put season 7 on Netflix.

Yeah, Doctor Who doesn't get especially good until Season 2, and I think the highlight of the whole thing is Season 4 (after which it's ok, but definitely goes downhill). But like... if you try to skip Season 1 figuring you'll watch it later, you just... can't. Ninth Doctor barely gets any love as it is! Also I haven't watched any of Torchwood yet, most people say it's got its moments but it's not that great overall... but at this point I just miss Davies so much that I might do it anyway. I'm not even looking forward to the next season, Moffat seriously needs to retire.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Doctor Who is not just about the Doctor. The companions can make or brake the show. I found the best combination was the 10th Doctor and Donna Noble. No mussy romantic stuff, they were extremely funny together,
I'm looking forward to seeing a bit more of Clara now the whole "impossible girl" thing is gone. I don't like it when they do things like that.

Hi! I really liked, what's her name, the black girl. I wish she had stayed on longer. Haven't seen Season 7 yet, so no comment on the newest companion. On Torchwood...I want to say just skip it. I watched the whole thing. Seasons 1 and 2 are ok but not especially good. Season 3 is the "let's forget about all the unresolved plot threads and just kill everyone off" season. Season 4...actually that one's not bad and, since nearly everyone died off in Season 3, you could probably just jump in at Season 4 with minimal confusion. Even then though, there are plenty of better things to watch.

It's actually pretty good up until Children of Earth. After that you just wanna punch RTD for taking his ball and moving to America. I hear very bad things about Miracle Day.Silver wrote:I haven't watched any of Torchwood yet, most people say it's got its moments but it's not that great overall....
Martha. Her name is Martha Jones. And yes, her and Mickey should have joined Torchwood. Which was GOING to be the plan for Season 3, buuuuut then stuff happened and Children of Earth came about.Josiah wrote:Hi! I really liked, what's her name, the black girl.
Also anybody who enjoys Doctor Who and Radio dramas will love these guys.

Hey,
Well, if we're talking about shows we've been watching, I've been watching a few episodes of Star Trek DS9. Well...I'm not actively watching it. My mom has been on a DS9 kick and I semi-watch it from the other room (where my computer is).
At first, I didn't think I'd like it since I'm pretty attached to the original series and TNG, but it's kind of grown on me. Especially Quark and Odo. Any episode involving them and some crazy shenanigans is all well and good with me.
Other than that, I'm just sitting inside watching the maple seed pod-things come twirling down. Our backyard is coated in them. My dad is trying to dry some clothes outside on the line and I'm sure those'll get coated in them as well.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
There are so many shows on my back log, I'd really like to watch through some Star Treks sometime but it just doesn't seem to happen.
Right now there are five weeks old kittens on the porch again and like... what am I supposed to do? NOT play with them all the time? Once they're 8 weeks old we've got to get them in homes and ~hopefully~ get those nice feral cat fixer people to catch their mothers (did I mention there were two litters? Yeah there were two litters we've got a buttload of kittens send help) and then ALL the cats will be fixed and there won't be any more babies so I've got to enjoy it while it lasts!

Hi! Yeah, I've got the Star Treks on my backlog as well, though they're not especially high up so who knows when I'll get to them.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey,
Oh, the humidity! I get that it's summer and it's going to be a little warmer around here than normal, but why, oh, why does it have to be humid as well? Everything feels sticky and my hair is doing stupid things like sticking up where it shouldn't.
Hey, winter? I'm sorry about all of those mean things I said. I didn't mean it when I said I was tired of the snow and cold winds. Please forgive me. Come back. I love you, December and January, and I really do miss the snow and ice.
Anyway, I only have two more weeks of high school left and I'm going to miss all of it. The teachers, the art rooms...Even the smell of the hallways outside the locker rooms after Gym class and the science hallways during dissection week.
I'm always up for watching some Star Trek. Any series, any show, any movie (well, maybe not any series/show/movie, but at least most). I have them on my backlog too, but a bit further up than most other shows. Star Trek has this certain charm about it that makes me happy and hopeful for the future when I watch it. Even the original series with it's relatively low-budget scenes and props can at least make me laugh.

I thought I would miss all those high schooly things. I didn't. College is nice.
I do however miss winter. This winter was very long and kind of mean, but I really do hate all this hot... it's not even that hot and I'm sick of it, when we reach August I'm going to die.

Hi! You guys should move out west. Dry heat is a million times better than high humidity heat.
So, the travelogues are a bit behind but today is my last day in Nanjing. Tomorrow it's off to Beijing for the last part of my China trip.

I've seen the whole of Miracle Day and I enjoyed it. The premise of the series keeps you coming back for answers.
"What would happen if no one ever died, but still aged and got hurt?"
it was really interesting.
I'm currently watching Season 2 of "Hannibal", and Season two of "In the Flesh"
Both so far have been REALLY good, enjoying them so much.
You can probs watch Hannibal as it is a US drama, but "in The Flesh" is "home grown" BBC, and really good about zombies, but after a cure is found.
