Hi! No real progress on my stone collection. At this point, what I really should be doing is a bunch of breeding to get 5 or 6 IV versions of the pokemon I want on my team (well, some anyway, some I can't until Bank is released). But I'm having trouble finding the time and motivation to do so. Maybe I'll make some progress over the weekend.

Yeah finding the time is a pain. I didn't have a car except for work and back so I had LOTS of free time after work. I finally got my new car on Tuesday, but lucky I'm done getting I|Vs and EVs don't take as long.

Hey,

Just posting this quickly. It's mid-terms week, so I'm a bit busy with studying n' stuff. Though doesn't seem to matter much seeing as how this place is kind of dead. (Wow, "kind of dead". Almost as good as "sort of unique" or "a bit infinite")

Today was my Myth and Modern World (aka Myth) final. It was a fun class, and I'm slightly disappointed that it's only for one semester. Oh well, at least some fun times were had. I had a bit of a...quirky class. Even before our final started, we were all joking and laughing about some of the various topics we had learned as a bit of a quick, last-minute review.

Also, doesn't "Jason and the Argonauts" sound like the name of a band? I would not be surprised if it already was.

So, back to studying...And not going insane over these tests.

Stay radical, people!

Hi! Hopefully things will pick up again once King of the Forums starts (mid February, though I haven't decided on the exact dates yet).

Nothing especially exciting on my end since Friday (when I met up with Silver and Colly down in Orlando). Work is being especially annoying today (not the classes, but extra duties, paperwork, and the like), but that's about it.

Sorry, guys. I haven't been posting because I was in Disney World!

And y'know, no offense guys, but I'm not about hanging out on a laptop when I could be in Disney World.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

I'm with you. I would NOT be on the interwebs if I was at Disney land. I would be in a screaming, giggling, sugar like induced fit like blur of excitement.

You might be able to tell I REALLY want to go to Disney land

GOT MY NEW CAR AND IT IS PINKKKKK!

I love it love it love it!

Hi! Yeah, no reason to post much/at all when you're off having fun somewhere. I finally started on Pokémon breeding. So far, I'm got a couple of 5 IV Froakies. They have the wrong 5 IVs, and I still haven't gotten one with the right nature, but I'm getting there. Of course, I have like 7 more Pokémon to do after that...

Also, yesterday was rather awesome. Work went well and then, that evening, I got a call saying the college was closing down tomorrow due to the weather. Big surprise, since they hate to close and the weather didn't seem all that bad, but the school district was closing all the regular schools and maybe they got a lot of flack for staying open the last time that happened. Or maybe the weather is a lot worse up there than where I am. Then, to make things even better, I got a free pizza along with my normal order for some reason (guess there was a special or something). So yeah, an extra day off and free pizza, doesn't get much better than that.

And Shauni, congrats on the car. You really don't see many pink ones in the US.

Moi,

Am I the only person who doesn't exactly like amusement parks all that much? Sure, it's fun for the kids, but I don't really see the thrill of them anymore...am I...getting old? My gosh...

Nice car, Shauni!...I think. I'm no expert on cars, so I'm not really sure. (Pink is an...interesting color, to say the least.)
Heck, I haven't even gotten my driver's license or permit yet...Hmm, seeing as how I'm almost out of high school, I should probably get that soon. Not that I'm in a hurry or anything. To be honest, piloting one of those big blocks of metal filled with inflammable and toxic liquids doesn't exactly sound like the kind of thing I would want to be doing on a daily basis...or by myself.
Then again, I also would rather not be totally dependent on other people to drive me around all of the time.
On the other hand, my great-grandmother is in her 100's now and she never learned how to drive.
But still, if I'm able to drive myself around, I'll be able to get myself to the store more easily and buy as much food as I want with my own money, and that sounds pretty dang nifty!

Anyway, Mid-terms are now over. They ran from Monday to today. And guess what? There's school tomorrow. Yay. Woo-hoo.
...Yeah, I'm a bit annoyed, but at least we (hopefully) won't be doing much tomorrow. Nice, slow day I expect.

Well, that's all I got for now. I think I'm going to go and play some nice, relaxing, mind-numbing video games now.

Stay radical people!

Aloha! Nice car, Shauni!

I do wish I were more active on the forums, but I just don't feel I can add anything to the discussion.

Learning to drive was the best thing I ever did. While I was learning and before I thought I wasn't bothered. I got a free bus pass because my Dad is a bus driver, but not having to stand in the rain for half an hour waiting for a bus is awesome.

Unless I'm waiting for a cat bus

As a driver, there is nothing worse than people expecting you to ferry them around all the time and assuming you are okay with it as it is "not putting you out". I never get offered any petrol money either. Its a dear do running a car so if you can learn to drive you should, even if its so the people that are driving you around all the time don't begin to feel you are a burden if there doesn't seem to be anything holding you back from learning.

It will also be excellent for your job prospects are you can get jobs further way, and some companys won't take you on if you can't drive.

I didn't have a car for two weeks while I was waiting for a new one, I felt like I had lost a limb. They are so important these days for your lifestyle it is really worth getting done. I wouldn't know what to do without one now.

Oh man Shauni, I'm the taxi for a lot of people in my life as well, and you really hit the nail on the head talking about it. It really does grind my gears after a while, but it's not really something you can say without being rude.

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I am currently recovering from having my wisdom teeth out.

Hi! Two Pokémon down, six to go...

Honestly Poison, driving is a whole lot safer than a lot of things we do (look at the statistics) and, like Shauni said, it's extremely convenient. The only time I didn't especially mind not having a car was when I was living in Japan with its awesome public transit, but even then there were times when a car would have been really nice. Now, if the price of gas would just go down to what it was several years ago...

As for amusement parks, it totally depends on the park. When it comes to the major theme parks like Disney, between the rides, shows, displays, food, and general atmosphere, there's pretty much something for everyone to enjoy.

Yeah, I went to Disney with two people who aren't rides people and they still had a good time. Epcot especially - it's hard to even call it a theme park when it has like, what, three rides? That being Fast Track, Mission Space, and the Norway thing. Stuff like Space Ship Earth and Soarin don't even count. It's simulations and shows and stuff more than anything else. I guess the same could be said of Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, too... the Magic Kingdom is the only theme parky one, honestly.

And even so, it's a completely different beast. Stuff like Six Flags doesn't compare - I wouldn't even put them in the same paragraph. I know what you mean about those though, I'm not generally one for theme parks either.

As for driving? Driving is nice. Learn how to do it. Even if you don't get a car, learn how to drive, get yourself a license. Mostly because that's the most universally recognized form of ID... but it's also just a really useful skill to have. Getting a car is what flags you as a taxi; if you don't have your own, the worst you'll have to deal with is your parents sending you out to the convenience store.

Hi! I think the main thing is that you need to differentiate between amusement parks like Six Flags, which are all about the rides, and theme parks, which may or may not have rides, but are all about a given theme and tend to have a wide variety of attractions.

Oh! Before it's too late, all you 3DS owners need to go onto the e-shop and download Four Swords! It's FREE! But only until tomorrow, then it's gone. So get on it!
