Hi! Rosh Hashanah starts tonight. It's not really one of my favorite Jewish holidays (it's a moderately somber one), but it's important.

In other news, the Japanese club at UF is finally officially starting up Japanese language tables for the semester, which I tend to hang out at. Unfortunately, the new person in charge of them decided to change the time from Mondays at 4:30 to Wednesdays at 3. I don't really mind the switch to Wednesday but I work until three and, with traffic, it'll probably take me an hour to there from work. -.- I guess the new time works better with the head person's schedule, but I may have to stop attending. Honestly, I don't even see why language tables needs a leader (or supervisor, or chaperone, or whatever) anyway. It didn't have one when I first started going and really, people just sit around a table and chat about whatever, there's no benefit to having a "leader". It also annoys me that the new leader is someone who I never remember having attended language tables in the past.

Hey.

So one of my lecture halls had mold. Good news: They noticed after two lectures and moved us to a new lecture hall promptly. Bad news: Too late. I'm already sick. Yay being sick within one week of classes.

Also, the band has this informal thing called the "Web of Sketch." It's this imaginary thing that (supposedly) connects every band member together through makeouts/hookups/relationships/things of that nature. By dating the drum major, I got myself on the Web of Sketch last year. Now people are actually trying to create an actual Web of Sketch using some sort of online tool and it's just an absurdly complicated web but now I want to try my hand at it, too. It'd be such a convenient way to record any makeouts/hookups I hear about! Also, seeing how many people it takes to get from me to some of my other friends is amusing. Oh goodness Web of Sketch. So far, it's quite tangled and I know I'm missing impossibly many details, but it's a fun way to procrastinate. Whoo.

ALRIGHT FINE BACK TO WORK

Loved the Pokemon direct yesterday. I'm conflicted though. I really want Fennekin, but you can get Torchic as a download and pick Charmander early on...also like Litleo and Talonflame...guess I'm having a fire themed group!

Hey.

SO classes have been going on for like a week and a half now and I'm already swamped with problem sets! YAY ENGINEERING LYFE

I've been listening to Avenue Q a lot recently. Because I'm silly, I think of that show when I'm thinking hard about the realities of life instead of thinking of it as a ridiculous insane thingamawhatsit. I Wish I Could Go Back To College ALREADY has me nostalgic for college AND I'M ONLY A SOPHOMORE wut.

Also my friend started eating my purple frosting yesterday and then she left the can open so now I feel like I should eat it or it's going to be a waste halp I can't stop eating the frosting I have the self control of a 5 year old.

I've been on Slimfast little over a week and lost 2 and a 1/2 pounds. I'm very proud of that as it is REALLY hard to stick to. As a reward I ate loads of currents last night, and now I have a belly ache...hurray T_T

Not much going on worth mentioning, still going along with regular life. Most of the cool stuff I have planned is going on in October...so yeah just waiting LOL. I'm thinking of going to Southport on Saturday and watching the air show, If I can get parking LOL

Last few weeks I've had to work late or on my day off so i'm a little fired, been busy at work to due to staff sicknesses, hope everything calms down soon, I could do with a peaceful, if not easy, few days X-(

Hi! I've decided to give online dating a try. The fact that half of my recommended matches so far are from China or the Philippines strikes me as rather odd. It's not like I put in any racial or location based preferences. Are all those people legit, or are some fishing for a green card? '_-

Moi,

So, today was my third day of school and...I actually haven't been weighed down with tons of homework...so far. I've been doing some things to improve my life lately, and getting my homework done right when I get home is part of it! I never realized how rewarding it feels when you finish up all of your homework within an hour or so and get the rest of the night to relax...it feels awesome! Hopefully I'll be able to keep on track with this.

Speaking of keeping on track, I'm still doing that daily exercise I posted about a while back, and now that I'm back in school I'll be getting my daily cardio going up n' down all of those stairs. Fun.
Also, I'm pretty sure I didn't post about this, so I will now: Pretty much the day I told my dad that I was going to be doing daily exercise and said how it would be much easier with some actual weights, he brought me out that night to buy a curling bar for me. Strange how he doesn't do that when I ask for other things...video games for example.
In any case, I now have a curling bar and it's made my routine much easier. Those textbooks were a bit awkward to use anyway...
And, as an ending note to this, if you're thinking about working out daily (if you're not used to working out prior to starting) and you're going to be doing stuff with abs, sit-ups for example, in the beginning it will hurt the next morning. The day after I started really working out, I had trouble just bending over or turning. And, yeah I know, "no pain, no gain" and all. That doesn't mean I can't whine about my pain!

Anyway, time to kill my arms- I mean work out...yeah.

Stay radical people! Peace off!

Actually, Poison... if it hurts in the morning, you shouldn't be doing it daily. Muscles need time to heal; that's how you actually go about gaining them. It's recommended to alternate, either between cardio and muscle training, or between upper body and lower body workouts. That way you avoid excessively straining the same muscle two days in a row but don't just slack off every other day, either.

In other news, Silver's class schedule is pretty terrible this semester. Well, in terms of gas usage, anyway. He's got a class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10 am... and on Fridays, nothing else. So that's a half hour drive for an hour long class, then a half hour drive back. Then on Mondays and Wednesdays there's a class from 1 to 3... at a branch location 25 minutes away from the main campus! That they didn't announce to be at that location until after the registration period was over! Hooray! And finally, on Wednesday nights from 4 to 8, another class... back at the main campus. So on Wednesdays, it's a half hour drive for an hour long class, then a half hour drive for a two hour long class, then a half hour drive back for the four hour class, and then another half hour drive home. My Carlton's always hungry these days...
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

My friend has some sort of app on her iPhone that measures distance walked as well as elevation change. Apparently, me walking to campus from my house is the equivalent of going up 45 flights of stairs (and that's not even as far uphill as I have to go during the day). I don't doubt that for an instant. Ithaca is HILLS ON HILLS and I live on a hill so steep some cars can't make it up. But yay because I've eaten a ton of ice cream so far this school year and I'm still fairly certain I've lost weight because hill. If nothing else, I'm in better shape, because the slope certainly doesn't tire me out as much as it used to. And my calves are now epic. ADONIS CALVES HERE I COME

Actually, homework here I come. WHOO

Moi,

You are true Silver, quite true. I am happy to tell you that I do alternate between upper body and lower body training. It's just that, when I was starting out at least, I was...lets say not in top physical form so in the beginning weight training did normally leave me sore the next day. Luckily, since I was switching up every other day, when my shoulder or arms were aching one day, I could rest them and work on my legs that day. I do try to work on abs and back a bit every day though and now, especially since I've gotten on a daily exercise schedule, I am usually not sore, or at least not as sore as I was when I was starting out, the next day.

And, Saber, last year my schedule was absurd when it came to on which floors my classes were on. I believe on most days I had to go from the bottom floor, up to the third floor, back down to the bottom floor, then up to the fourth floor, and then back down to the bottom floor. I'll tell you, by the end of the year I had calves of steel. Maybe, since I have a good amount of free periods this year, I'll just spend them walking up and down the stairs...or maybe I'll just sit on my butt drawing or playing on my DS...either of these are viable options.

So...yep. Stay radical people! Peace off!

Hi! I actually just started adding some weights to my normal exercise routine as well. Specifically upper body stuff, since I don't really get as much of that as I should the ways I normally exercise. Walking a lot is great though, I always lose weight when I'm in Japan and I think all the walking I do there is a big part of it. Though the drastic change in diet probably contributes as well...

man, i really need to exercise more, I used to go for an hour long walk every day, but now my walking buddies work at a different site and I've become lazy LOL.

You know, if you drink some chocolate milk after working out it is supposed to reduce muscle ache the next day. it doesn't even need to be the full fat stuff, skimmed work well to. Why not give it a try and see how you feel the day after?

Diet can help, check out this link

Hey.

CHOCOLATE MILK IS MY FAVOURITE I JUST HAD SOME RIGHT NOW I REALLY DID and I was just playing football SO THAT'S COOL

And, I used some sort of bizarre iPhone app to measure my walk today. Apparently, over the course of 1.16 miles, I go up half a mile of elevation. So that's pretty fun.

Also one of my profs is psychotic and has this absurd formatting for problem sets where I'm only allowed to use like half of a piece of paper as well as only one side of the paper WHY PROF WHY what did nature ever do to you?!

Hi! Yeah, some professors can get hung up on ridiculous things. There was this math class I had years back where the guy took points off my math assignments because I did my work vertically instead of horizontally. Then there were the points off because he didn't like my hand writing (never mind that it was perfectly readable, and this was a MATH class), and the ones when I didn't solve a problem in the exact same way he would... I ended up dropping that class (the one class I've ever dropped) because, the way things were going, I would have failed despite getting most of the math problems correct. O.o

Moi,

So, today was the first Anime club meeting of my senior year! At the end of last year, we were a bit worried about the club since more then half of the club members were graduating that year, leaving us with one soon-to-be junior and four soon-to-be seniors for the next year. Not exactly large enough for a substantial, let alone lasting, club.
But! We are now back from the brink! Somehow, we acquired ten new members, most of them freshmen or sophomores. I have no idea whether they'll all stay or not, but it's great news for the club! If we can get some of them to learn about how the club basically works and find a few that are good enough leaders that we can trust them to carry on the Anime club torch, we may have a club that lasts well after us seniors are gone.
Still, it doesn't feel quite the same without all of the people I grew to become awesome friends with through Anime club there with us, but, who knows? Maybe they'll visit during their summer break right before school ends and see how well we've carried on the club.

So not much else to report here. I might be doing a bit of painting this week or the next since I have quite a few free periods during the day and some of the art rooms happen to be open to students. Also, I've been getting a yearning to paint after watching a bunch of Bob Ross's Joy of Painting clips and learning a bit more about some various techniques. Should be fun.

Stay radical people! Peace off!
