Thing about Animal Crossing is, you need to have a really good connection at first (you're basically downloading the entire town) but after that it'll run fine even on a weak connection. I pretty much have to stand next to my router to get the train to show up, but once that's done, it doesn't matter.

To Best Friend someone, when you're in the same town at the same time, tap the heart icon on the bottom screen. The names of all the people active in you town at the time will appear with a little icon to their left. Tap that and you can add them. This needs to be done by both people, and then you can chat even when not in the same town.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Hi! It's great having a good internet connection again. Now I can finally download files, stream video, use Netflix, and the like. Another week or so, and I should be totally caught up with my post-summer vacation to-do list.

Connection errors... I'm guessing that would be your internet being lame then. If standing next to the router for better connections is an option, we could try that... or maybe it would be better to visit my town, I don't really know.

Sad fact is I was standing right next to my router. Turns out my Dad's laptop got disconnected when I tried to have you visit too. It does work as I've had a friend over on the wifi before, but since then she can't connect to me either. I think next time I will try and visit you, but I don't know when I'll be playing next as it is a bank holiday weekend and I'm going away for a few days. Maybe we can try again next week on Thursday again, at the same time.

Moi,

So, why am I up before noon today? My parents and I were visiting the place I had my senior pictures taken and looking at the various pictures. Amazingly, I don't hate all of them! I even like a few of them! Of course, my parents and I had some differing views on which pictures we were going to keep or not, but in the end, the pictures we kept I can tolerate. Once we get some of the pictures, I may even show one or two off (a truly amazing thing, seeing as how I normally do not show pictures of myself even to close friends). So, good times all around.

I'm also starting to do a bit of daily exercise. Not to make myself look better or anything. Just to get a bit healthier. I currently have no dumbbells or weights on hand, so instead I'm using the next best thing: Old textbooks and encyclopedias. They may not be as ergonomic as normal weights, but they work.

So, not much else to report. Just lounging around most of the time. Staying chill and such.

Well, stay radical people. Peace off!

Hi! I've got a four day weekend coming up! One of several in September actually, though all except this one are due to various Jewish holidays I had to take off work for. I plan to spend one day going somewhere fun (details to be determined). Other than that though, my weekend will be taken up with less exciting tasks such as running errands, baking, and cleaning my apartment. I have more time for playing games and working on Aurora's Nightmare too though, now that I've gotten most of my other to-do list stuff taken care of. So that's nice.

Other than that, not much going on right now. Though I did hear about a local Pokémon league (for the games, not the TCG), so I may check that out sometime soon.

Moi,

So, I'll be going back to school on Sept. 3rd. Yay...Okay, to be honest, I am rather glad to be going back. Heck, this is my last year of high school! I might as well make it enjoyable on some level. And, from looking at my fall schedule, it doesn't look too bad.

-Computer programming (in Java)
-Law and Gov.
-Pre-calculus
-Myth and the modern world (an English course)
-Video gaming (which covers a wide range of video game related things including business related)
-Physics

The only one that doesn't sound all that great is Pre-calculus. I'm sure once I start it, I'll get used to it and understand it, but...ugh. For now, I'll just hope it isn't as bad as people say it is.

Also, I'll only be in school for two days next week, and then have a four day weekend (due to Rosh Hashanah). Great planning, school. Amazing. Though, I guess it does give some of the students time to pick up any supplies they may need. I know that's what I'll be doing...and, of course, sleeping.

So, yeah. Unlike other years, I'm not really at all that nervous about going back. It just feels like I'm getting back into the swing of things. I...suppose that's good.

Stay radical, people! Peace off!

Hi! Those high school video game classes bug me a bit. Not the fact that high schools are starting to add game classes (that's kind of cool), but the content. While I'm sure yours is a bit different, I've looked over the curriculum for the high school video game courses they have here in Florida, and they're a mess. They try to cram in every single related subject in a single course. Having gotten an entire degree in video games, I can say that most of those things take, at minimum, an entire semester long course of their own to adequately cover. Often, you really need several courses, or even an entire degree in some cases. If they just want to give an overview, that's ok...but they should still limit it to two or three of the more important aspects so students can at least spend a couple of weeks on each one, rather than a fraction of a single class. Also, at least here in Florida, it was rather clear that the basic curriculum and guidelines teachers had to follow was created by people who really don't know much of anything about the game industry. Some of the subjects and terminology they included were way off base. Finally, from what I've heard from my students here who have taken those courses, they're often taught by teachers who really don't know much of anything about video games or game design.

But anyway, I'll end my mini-rant there. I do hope you enjoy your game class Poison, just don't expect things to be anywhere near as short and simply as it will probably make them out to be.

Moi,

I understand your concern Josiah, and, luckily, most of what I've heard about this course from close friends is that it is pretty good. They don't try to stuff too much into the curriculum (which is a semester long) and go over what they do in good detail. I've also heard that the teacher knows quite a bit on video games and the industry, so that's good.

Also, Josiah, you have a degree in video games? That's pretty awesome. Sounds like what one of my friends aims to achieve someday. He said he wants to someday design his own video games, or at least take part in designing or making other people's games. We actually used to joke around that if he ever needed help making his games, he could hire me to do art or graphics and my other friend (who know a good deal about programming and web design) to code and market it. Ahh...good times.

Stay radical...again. Peace off!

Hi! Yeah, I have a BA in Game Design and MS in Game Production. One of the first things I tend to tell my own students is that making games can be fun, but it's also a whole lot of work. There have been times when I've been way too busy working on a game to actually play games. When you're starting out, it's also extremely easy to overestimate what you can do with a small group. Sure there are small indie teams, but most of the games you see in Gamestop or the like had anywhere between 30 and several hundred people working on them. It's not the easiest industry to break into either. I am glad I studied it though, for the most part (even if I haven't managed to get the job I want yet). If you ever have any questions, want to fact check your teacher, or the like, feel free to let me know.

Hey.

I wish we had a video game class in high school. That'd be so cool! As it is, there's some sort of Comp Sci class here that has something to do with game design and I don't really remember what it's actually called, just that it's pretty much impossible to get into as a sophomore (and also difficult as a junior and maybe even as a senior) because the class fills up in like 3 seconds. One of the most popular classes at Cornell.

ANYWHO my classes for the semester are:
-Physics III: Waves and Optics
-Linear Algebra (which I have in about 15 minutes and probably should start walking to soon because OH THE HILLY CAMPUS THAT IS CORNELL)
-Mechanical Properties of Materials: From Nanodevices to Superstructures (aka the intro to Materials Science course aka the weed out course for that major aka WHYY GOD WHYY)
-Statics and Mechanics of Solids (Or, as we like to call it, S&M)
-Into to Personality (not the psych class I wanted, but I wanna take an upper level psych class next semester and I need to take an intro course first SO IT'LL DO)

And my final and prelim (we call our midterms prelims) schedule is looking to be hell because ALL OF THE PRELIMS OVERLAP so that should be fun to work out with the people.

Sadly, I have no CS course this semester as it overlaps with my MatSci course ( :-( ). But I shall hopefully be taking Java next semester!

OH and I guess I never really gave you guys an update on my summer? Most of it was working and playing League of Legends. The working part involved a lot of programming, which was fun up until the part where I wanted to throw things at the wall whenever I got a seg fault. But I actually learned several languages (tcl, 4DGL, C, and the whole html, css, javascript and php thing), so that was pretty good. Also good work experience in general, what with working at an engineering firm. And I got paid above minimum wage, so that was pretty cool. Yay real people money!

Also, the sum of my past few days: BAND BAND BAND BAND aww new band freshmen are adorable! BAND BAND BAND BAND ow I have blisters on my feet BAND BAND BAND wait there's a homeless man sleeping on our porch? That's weird BAND BAND BAND

And I have a lot more band this weekend YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
May the Triforce be with you.

Moi,

So, I just got back from the New York State Fair with my dad. I had quite a bit of fun there. I might as well, too, considering that this time next year, I'll probably be in college. So, this was my last chance to go for a while. It was rather pleasant there, even though it stayed around 80 - 85 F and was quite humid. While I was there I bought a lovely smelling candle and another dream catcher for my little collection. Also, I came home with a bit of a sunburn on my face...Yeah, my dad and I kind of forgot to bring sunscreen...and after walking around for five hours, somebody with pale skin like me is almost certain to get a sunburn.

So, not much else to report. Going back to school Tuesday. Woo...
