Konbanwa!

Sooo I disappeared again. Gomen. I've been really busy over the past 5-6 weekish with my field experience and uni work. I have two exams tomorrow and then its all over for the semester. I'll have about 4 weeks holidays in which I hope to be around alot more. ^_^

My field experience went pretty well though, and I had a really good time. There we're laughs and some times when I had to restrain myself from hurting the students. . . Or being sarcastic. . . yeah can't be sarcastic. . .

My parents are made up for me when I get pay increases. How old are you anyway now? they shouldn't even really be asking you about how much you earn unless you live with them and it is to go towards household expenses.
I mean, I am living with my folks right now, but that's because I'm nineteen and haven't finished college (er, university) yet :P Though next summer I am planning on staying the summer at my place at Cornell. My parents haven't said anything about helping me pay for rent there, and so far, I've been the one who's put down the deposit and paid for the first month of rent (my lease started in the beginning of June, even though I'm not currently there. Good thing I'm living in a freaking cheap place).

YUP working and playing League of Legends... yeah, there's not too much going on in my life.

Moi,

Hey, looks like I'll be working this summer (on Saturdays) at a bike shop! Not for pay or anything though, it's for community service for school...well, at least I'll learn a little more about fixing bikes. I happen to know my knowledge on bikes is very little. I mean...I can pump up a tire and replace a tube...and that's about it.

So, only two more finals until I'm done! They're both on Tuesday, so I get to be extra tired once I get home for them! To be honest, I got out better then my friend did. She has three tests that day, Chemistry, German, and Chinese, while I only have Chemistry and German. I don't think I'll have a very tough time with them though, I'm pretty confident with Chem and I've always done well in German...not to say that I'll be any less mentally exhausted afterwards. No sir-ee.

Anyway, stay radical, people! Peace off!

Hi! I'm having fun here in Tokyo. Just about to leave, actually. I'm going to that big flea market I've talked about in my travelogues then meeting some friends in Harajuku.

The only market we got to was that massive fish market *shudder* it was like Fish hell.

I'd have liked to have gone to a big market like that, but it hadn't occurred to me while I was there LOL

Hey.

If any of you guys are interested in games like Risk, here's a blurb for ya. Those of you who are friends with me on the facebooks, sorry if you're reading this twice.

Okay so there's this online browser game I've recently heard of called Neptune's Pride II. It's like Risk, but with planets, and you make all of your moves in real-time. For example, sending one of your ships to capture a new system might take 4 hours of travel. As well as just moving units around to explore and fight, you have to balance spending money for military, research, and the economy. Each day, you get some money from your investments into the economy, which you can turn around and spend as you please. And then you can message people and share resources and research (at a cost!) and collaborate and (inevitably) backstab. Currently, I'm in a game mostly filled with a bunch of randos, but I think it'd be really fun to be in a game completely filled with people I know from real life (or even friends of friends). There's a tutorial vid, and the game is pretty easy to pick up (again, I've been playing for just a few days). One game would last... I dunno how long, really. Weeks? A month? Let me know if you're interested!

tl;dr: Fun browser Risk-like strategy game that would last several weeks. Play with me.

Hi! Is this something you have to be on for a while at a time or do you just make a move then check back as other people make theirs?

Check back as other people make theirs. It's the type of thing you can go on once in the morning for anywhere between 1-10 minutes (depending on how long you wanna think about strategy), send out some ships, and then like 6-8-whenever hours later, check and see if your ships have gotten anywhere (4 hours of travel would be a really close star), again going on the game for just a few minutes. Advancing in research takes days. It's all very slow moving, so you don't really need to check it that often... I'm just addicted so I pop the page open all the time, despite the fact that all that's changed is my ships are a few pixels closer to their destinations, or maybe I've gotten a new message from another player about an alliance or something.

Wooooooot! Finals are done and overwith! Now I can complain about my extreme boredom over the entire summer, probably not this year though. Long time no post eh? Apologies guys, stuff has just been really busy and overwhelming this year.

Moi,

Ditto, Marluxia. I finished my last two finals yesterday. I was so exhausted and drained after those.

I find it a bit strange how much in the way of spriting and art related stuff I got done during finals. I guess I naturally get more stuff done under a bit of pressure...or it could be because I was just procrastinating, though I like the sound of the former better.

So, I'll finally be going to see Star Trek into Darkness tonight. This was probably the only movie I was looking forward to seeing this summer, so I'm quite happy. Plus, since I'm seeing it a while after it came out, the theater won't be as packed, so that will be nice.

Also, as a bit of news, I've been playing The Kingdom of Loathing a whole lot since the start of my finals as well. It's a comical RPG type game where you can choose between 6 classes, go on hundreds of various adventures, and just have a good time in general. I'm currently a lv. 10 Disco Bandit, a type of class that uses their moxie to get ahead in the world. So, yeah. It's been keeping me occupied as of late. It's pretty fun, too!

Anyway, stay radical, people! Peace off!

Well, Saber, I've never played Risk and I'm horrible at Chess, but I'd be up to join in if you need more people. I'm sure I can manage fifteen minutes or so a day for something like this.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

I do believe it was this time last year that I obsessed over KoL (maybe two years ago)! I've beaten the game twice (when you beat the game, you come back as a lvl 1 whatever-class-you-want, and you get to keep one of the skills you had with your previous class). Not sure I even remember my username now, however. Shame.

Silver, I'll pencil you in as a maybe? I doubt I'll get enough people that are super dying interested, but if that somehow happens, it seems like they might be more interested than you.

There's also a rp-ing part of the game, as it's boring to message other people and just be like "hey wanna alliance"? I enjoy being really diplomatic and stuff. Like, the first in-game message I got from someone was "I humbly propose that we institute a non-aggression pact. My forces are in route to Mintaka. And I suggest that be the border between us. Do you accept? Perhaps we could trade technology as well. I am researching Weapons, but if you research a different technology, let me know.

Imperial Regards,
Comrade-Emperor Junn Hadek"

Makes the game significantly more fun.

Yeah, that's fine. Count me as a back-up... um... empire. In case you... need more empires.

I'd be willing to participate as well, being somebody that enjoys these sorts of things.
