ROM 3: Shadows of Souls

((No offense, but that sounds kinda... what's the word I'm looking for... stupid? I dunno... it just doesn't really fit in with 'ROM.' And what would happen to the monsters? This IS technically a monster battling game, and monsters in the real world can NOT be good. Sorry, that's just me...))

((...Oh yes, the monsters would still exsist, since they were in their cards when going through the portal. >_>; Orrr...Maybe their powers could be inside you, and when you summoned a monster, you'd take on that monster's look and traits! Eh? D:))

(Well, we don't really plan things, like so many times they said. Plus, this is a game, so how can virtual things exsit in the REAL WORLD? Doesn't make sense to me :x)

Jeff: Okay...now then, we can't be seen. We don't have much choice but to lay low and have the trip take longer. If we get caught here, it's pretty much all over, right? So... hmm...yeah, that should work. See here there's an out of the way path. I doubt many know about it, so it should be safe. It should take us...at most two days; but we'll most likely not be seen. It's our best bet. What do you guys think?

((Welcome back Jeff! ^_^ Also, everyone please take a look at my post in the Ideas for ROM 4 thread. But Pokchu, it doesn't look like your plan is going to happen. Also, monster merging is my special power, I don't want everyone being able to do it.))

"Hmm..." *Josiah trudged through the rapidly deepening snow.* "I bet we could travel faster if this path was clear." *He grinned and pushed past Jeff and Shauni.* "Go Hell Fire!" *Now in it's Nova form, Hell Fire hadn't actually grown any larger but strange patterns of firy red now twisted their way across its body.* "Use High Temp and walk ahead of us to melt the snow, ok?" *The monster growled in response and began walking.*

"Clever." *Jeff commented.*

"Heh, you should have seen some of the stuff I did when I was traveling on my own. I really learned to improvise a lot back then."

"Don't let your guard down too much." *Shauni cautioned.* "NeoZanther is still somewhere nearby."

*Shauni, Jeff, and Josiah continued to chat as they walked on down the path. Virgo remained quiet and simply watched the white flakes fall from the sky. Afterall, this was the first time she'd seen a snow storm. Come night fall, they found a small cave and took shelter inside.*

Shauni, who only wore a thin jacket, was feeling the cold badly within the cave

".....ehhh...w-we n-need to s-start a fire...s-soon"
Jeff walked voer to her and held her to keep her warm

"We have the m-means for a f-fire...b-but we need f-fire wood..." 

"I'll go look for fired wood" spoke Jeff, who wore the most layers
Shauni held out her arm
"B-be careful"
He smiled, noded and kissed her softly on the head before leaving out
Shauni left out Pyrococo and snuggled into his furre
"Please...b-be ok"

"God...damn...cold.." Lopa found herself a hollow tree trunk to take shelter in "Damnit! Why didn't Bowen send some...guys of fire to keep me warm?" She asked aloud, knowing nothing would answer her. She sighed, still close to Shauni and Co.

((Guys, look at my post in the ROM 4 suggestion thread. Also, I still need to go to the real world, and I need Mustiado and Opal to temporarily be there as a side story. Also, you still need the 4 god cars and the presence of evil to get in the entrance of the palace. Without them, the castle is inpenetrable. Also, no trying to find a secret entrance. Okay, my post turn. :D))

"Alright...I can't go after Lopa next, since she's never met 'me' before, and she seems trustful. I guess I'll have to go after Zanther." He then approached Hellion's throne room. "Sir, it's Zanther. We must go after him next, and I'm not nearly...well...powerful enough.

"So you need some of my power?"

"Well...yeah."

"Here, take the already captured Shadows of souls." So he presented the four cards to Daku, and he took them, and stuffed them in his pocket.

"Thank you."

"Now go and fight."

"Yes sir." And he flew off.

Josiah and Virgo had fallen asleep, Jeff had retured with wood and now they hand a nice fire burning. Jeff lay next to shauni, resting on Pyrococo's furr. Shauni was the only one awake, she watched Jeff sleeping...

After a while she snuggled into him to also fall asleep, but a strange tapping sound could be hured from the back of the cave

Shauni stood up and looked over Pyrococo towards the noise.

She decided to investigate the noise, figureing it might have just been dripping water

She quietly moved herself from the group, not waking them up, and walked towards the sound, indeed it was just water dripping, but at the far end of the cave shauni noticed some strange carvings on the wall, she was unable to clearly see what it was, so she retured to the group and , again without waking them retrieved a log with a burning end and walked back over to the carvings.

Lifting up her arm with the log, she luminated the carvings, relveling they where actualy words, she read them out loud

"When the doors of perception are cleansed, all truths will be realised"

She looked down further, but there was nothing else, the writing looked extremely old, but its also looked like it had been carved crudly, maybe even without tools

"What could this mean?" She asked herself
She closed her eyes for a moment and began to ponder its meaning, when an idea struck her

"When the doors of perception are cleansed...that, that could mean Bowens..."
Here thought trail was cut short by a horrible sherking sound, it came from her friends

She ran desportaly towards them, when she arrived there a huge spider like creature with a goats head was attacking Josiah and the group

Shauni rushed in head first...the group had not known it but they had rested in the cave of a dark shrine...

((Pokchu, you might just want to give up on the whole real world thing. Besides, you're a bad guy and we're all coming to get you. Good luck surviving that.))

"Ok, I'm seem some weird looking monsters but this is ridiculous." *Josiah jumped to the side and grabbed his cards.* "Go Electriblast and Ice Celestial! Let's destroy this freak! Hit it with Electricuter and Freezedown!"

*Jeff dove out of the way as the two attacks slammed the spider monster into the cavern wall. It struggled to recover but Jeff attacked first.* "Shauni's Savior!"

"It's over already?" *Virgo watched as the monster disintigrated.*

"Hellion must be running out of strong shrine guardians."

"Wait, we're in a shrine?"

"That thing looked like a guardian to me. We should check the rest of the cave."

*It didn't take the group long to find and destroy the dark shrine. With the area purified, they went back to sleep. They woke early the next morning, ready to continue their journey.*

"I think its relivent"
"Might be, sounds like something not to over look"
"I think it refers to Bowen, he has an orb called The orb of truth, he uses it to watch events going on in the outside world, its like the queens mirror in snow white really, its neither good or evil on its own, but Bowen has currupted it...I think if Virgo and I purify it, we can ask it stuff, like how to beat bowen, how to restore orca and such"
"Sounds promising"
"But we cant get in to Bowens relam without Emiel, now I'm not unicoco i dont have the strength to enter the gate at the lake, we need an gaunlete of power, which emiel has"
"You say a gauntlete of power, is there more than one?"
Shauni noded "Bowen ha sthe other, th one emiel has allows the user to steal magical power and use it, the other purifies dark magic..."
"Wait...what if both are used together?""I guess you could steal an enemys dark power and purify it, firing it back on them...."
"Thats sounds perfect for defecting our enemys!"
Shauni sighed "But if you use them both....it kills the user, I dont know why, this is all Sutra's coding for her game before she removed it...and now we cant even ask her..."
"Well, I guess we need to go to Hellions palace either way, to get Emiel back, so I guess we contuie as planed, but we gotta remeber all this, I might be last chance if we fail...I dont want to think what would happen to Orca if it was destryed fully...."

"No..." *Josiah shook his head.* "Forget it. I'm not letting any of my friends die, not again. We're all getting through this together."

"Me neither." *Jeff slapped him on the back.* "Besides, I've already died enough for all of us. Come on, let's find Hellion and rescue the others."

"They sound so confident." *Shauni dropped back next to Virgo as they left the cave behind.* "This is serious. We're not playing the game correctly anymore. It's dangerous... Someone could die, we could all die..."

"They know that." *Virgo replied.* "We all do. But talking about how dangerous things are won't help. You fight much better confident than scared. Don't dwell on what could happen. Instead, focus on the best possible outcome and work to make it happen. Besides, with Josiah around, I know everything will be ok."
