Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Metal Gear Solid 4 was the game I got with it. I'd played it before on an ex's console but I've played through it again since I got the PS3.
I've played flower and liked it, and found out a compilation disk with that and Journey is only 314. I don't really want to be downloading games for it at the moment so I plan to by that.
I have Shadow of the Colossus on PS2 but I plan to buy the HD game cos the game play is just THAT BOSS.
I've been looking at Tales of Graces, whats the basic story line?
Also, has anyone played a Persona game on the PS3? Are they worth buying?

Hi! Silver and/or Colly can give you a lot more info on Tales of Graces than I can (haven't had time to play it yet), but the Tales of series is pretty great overall.
As for Persona, there aren't any PS3 Persona games, or Shin Megami Tensei games (the mains series that Persona is a spin off of) either. Persona 1 and 2 are on the PS1 and PSP, Persona 3 is on PS2 and PSP (though you can also download the PS2 version off the Playstation Network), and Person 4 is PS2 and Vita. That aside, it's an excellent series. The games are darker than your average JRPG, set in modern day Japan, and have a heavy monster training element mixed in. Plus, the story and characters are excellent. I'd definately recommend them, though Persona 3 is the only one you can get on the PS3 itself.
Oh, and then there's Ni No Kuni, the new RPG by Level 5 (Dark Cloud, Professor Layton, etc.) and Studio Ghibli (Hayao Miyazaki's studio), which is getting great reviews and is probably the next thing I'm going to play.

Now now, don't forget about Persona 4 Arena. It's not quite like the other Persona games, though... it's a fighting game. But it IS a Persona game on the PS3.
As for Tales of Graces... well, if the only thing you're looking for is a great storyline, you may want to look elsewhere. The overall story is ok, but fairly generic. Boy meets girl. Girl has amnesia. Boy promises to take care of girl. Girl is attacked by monster and explodes. Girl appears seven years later and you find out she's some kind of alien robot. You know, the same thing you see in every J-RPG ever. But the characters are loveable and the gameplay is fantastic, and it's not like the story is so terrible that it'll put you off the game. Plus it was impressive visually, like playing an anime. I'd recommend it highly overall. But, like I said, if you're only interested in the story, there are definitely games with better stories.

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Moi,
Midterms are finally over! Woo! Sunshine and happiness!
...Well, not so much sunshine. For the past week or so, It's been absolutely frigid. Sub-zero wind chills, blizzard-y conditions, and the rest...and yet I kind of expected it to be cold this week. On midterm week, it's almost always freezing, and during finals week, it's either insanely hot or raining. It's like the weather dislikes those times of year just as much as the students do.
Speaking of midterms, I only had three this year. Chemistry, Algebra II and Trig, and US History. US was fine, Algebra II and Trig. was okay, and Chemistry was quite easy.
Well...except for one question that my brain really just failed on. I almost gave up on a question because I couldn't remember how to get the average of two numbers...This is your brain on midterms, folks.
So, other then that, not all that bad. Intermediate German doesn't have a midterm, much like English, so that was nice...
And, this is very old news for me, but I got back my PSAT scores. I'm going to say I did well, not because I understand the grading system all that well, but because my inbox is flooded with e-mails from various collages that are "interested in me". I don't know whether to be happy that there are so many collages that think I'm good enough for them, or to be annoyed about all of the gosh-dang spam!
I also got a few letters from collages as well, seeing if I'll look into them or something.
And out of all of the collages that contacted me, I only know about two or three of them, tops.
So...time to filter out my e-mail, I guess.
Stay radical, people! Peace off!

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Ah yes, P4 Arena. I need to play that soon too, seeing as I'm just about done with my first play through of P4 Golden. On a related note, Chie has become one of my favorite female game characters ever.
Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to take a break from gaming for the net few days or maybe even week so I can get some other things done. At present, my schedule most days is essentially teach, work on that story, play games for a bit, work on PV, sleep. Not bad, but I really need to do some cleaning, book a flight and hotel and all for the Game Developers' Conference, and a few other things that have been on my to-do list for the last couple of weeks. Freeing up a couple hours a day should help me get through all that fairly quickly.
Congrats Poison! A college/university is easier to pick if you know what you want to study. If not, just do some research, tour the more interesting ones, think about the location, costs, etc.

this my friend is why I bought my PS3, it was due out today but it has been pushed back to the 1st of February. GuttedOh, and then there's Ni No Kuni, the new RPG by Level 5 (Dark Cloud, Professor Layton, etc.) and Studio Ghibli (Hayao Miyazaki's studio), which is getting great reviews and is probably the next thing I'm going to play.
This must have been last minute as the adverts for the game in all the games magazines now have the wrong date.
It's something to do with the DLc, and I only found out that Amazon had an offer for pre-order to get some cool monsters. I missed the deadline by a day.

And just as Poison gets a break, I get buried! Did I ever mention my schedule this semester? I'm taking a class on Milton, a class on Twain, and a class on Shakespeare... oh, and my Senior Seminar. You know, the big one. Thesis writing and all that. So yeah... I'll see you guys in May. If I survive.
But in the mean time, I've been doing a lot of drawing. Mostly because it helps me focus in class. I'm a terrible note taker and I can't just sit and listen for two hours, but if I'm doing something with my hands I don't have any problems... I've been a straight A student since kindergarten, so I'm not going to mess with the formula now. With that said:
Tada! I made one of these. I've never been a fan of the DA, but if I'm gonna be drawing for sixteen hours a week I ought to do something with it.

Hi! You've got some cute sketches there, Silver. I can be the same way at times. It depends on the subject, but I can often focus better if I have something to do with my hands. I don't suppose you have a laptop, do you? One you could bring in during class and use for the Aurora's Nightmare shading. Because that would be awesome... Or, if you want to try sketching AN characters sometime, I could totally create a fan-art page... That aside, good luck with all those classes and the thesis!

I do have a laptop... which I am not allowed to use in class. Which is completely lame, but people seem to assume that if you're on a laptop in class you're on facebook automatically, no exceptions.
But I mean, even if that was an option, it would probably be revoked quickly in my case... as I'd be using the mouse the whole time and never typing anything. So pretty clearly not taking notes.

'Lo, peeps. I obviously haven't posted in a while because free time is getting ever more scarce now that I'm in my second term. So don't be surprised if I spend my off hours playing computer games instead of lurking as per usual.
Also, it's cold outside because it's January in Eastern Ontario.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey.
So my ex kissed me last night and I kissed her back. Oops. She then told me she was in love with and wants to marry her ex. Then we kissed again.
Oh alcohol, you so cray.
In other news, I feel like I should be using my spare time to get ahead in classes before I start getting totally swamped, but I can't seem to find the energy to do so. In two weeks, I'll start having Mondays that have me busy (with two small breaks) from 8:30 AM to midnight, as well as Wednesdays with two two-hour labs in one day, along with a 9:30-11:30 PM rehearsal.
WHEEEEEE I'll definitely regret the not-getting-ahead thing then! But for now, there's hockey to pep band at tonight!
(Speaking of hockey, last night's game was televized. Little late, but it was. I was on TV playing my twumpet. I'M A STAR.)
Also, my wall is officially filled with a thousand-too-many quotes. Props to anyone who recognizes any without looking them up. Or, y'know, props to anyone who can successfully read them at this resolution.

Hi! Hey, Doodle. Nice to see you!
Saber, yeah alcohol + relationship stuff = trouble. Nice board though. As for getting ahead on work, motivation is overrated. Sometimes you really just have to force yourself to get things done.

Hi.
I really should post more often.
Anyway, been keeping myself mostly busy and this current spring semester will be keeping me very busy as I get to start writing my first 15 to 20 page paper! And I have a math class...I hate math...and my German class that I somehow got a C in last semester but worried on how well I'll do in it this semester.
That and my Aikido practices will be keeping me busy as well.
Simi glad I don't have any women problems (but that in itself is a problem)

Hi.
Ya, been thinking of starting to look again. Did some back in fall of 2011 but it only lasted a few months with one possiblity that decided to get out of the dating scene (personal reasons) and sort of lost the drive after that (my personality seems to be like that) but willing to give it another shot here.
