I've only been there in Creative. I'll try to post a picture of some of my redstone creations. I'm kind of an engineer.

I've actually cleared the end in survival. took months of preparation but i finally slaughtered the enderdragon.
here is a list of supplies i used:
4 sets of enchanted diamond armor
7 golden apples
4 enchanted bows
10 stacks of arrows
3 enchanted diamond swords
5 enchanted dimond pickaxes
A fishing pole (used after i beat the enderdragon to antagonize endermen)
3 stacks of tnt
2 enchantment tables (this is NOT advised, when placed enderdragon will teleport behind you and destroy the table along with some of your HP)
and 5 stacks of ladders
total fight time for enderdragon: 1.5 hours
and afterwords i was very angry. when you leave the end all your expierence dissapears and you start back at level 0, so bring enchantment tables (ONLY to be used after defeating the enderdragon) to enchant anything you may have left that can be enchanted.
hope this helps

Can Ender Dragons still not damage you if you're wearing armor? Because the first time I beat The End, I was only wearing a pumpkin, which counted as a helmet. I think it can't damage diamond now. With the pumpkin, the Ender Men didn't bother me at all. In fact, I started shooting them with arrows and they'd just sit, stupidly, because they can't recognize you with a pumpkin on your head. It was rather silly, actually.

Granted, my friend, who entered first, did most of the work. I just messed around for a bit.
Hmm... This signature just got really short...

the reason you werent attacked WAS because you were wearing the pumpkin BUT, endermen dont attack unless you look into their eyes. seriously, you could just walk up to an enderman, stare at his feet, hit 'em with anything, and he wont retaliate until you look into his face.

sa for the enderdragon, it can hurt you no matter what you are wearing. ever heard of falling damage? the enderdragons attack does not usually deal damage directly to the player, instead it throws you up and lets gravity do the rest. the reason you took no damage was because you werent high enough for the impact to go through your diamond boots (i am assuming you were wearing diamond boots because you said you had diamond armor).

on another end relayed topic, I TOOK OVER TH END!!!!

seriously, it was easy (Took a long time to prepare (3 weeks) but putting the plan into action was easy) i had a LOT of steel blocks (Total of 640 or 10 stacks) and 2 stacks of pumpkins. i made steel block towers in the form of iron golems and placed a pumpkin on the top of each one and pushed it off the tower (Iron golems do not take falling damage) when i was done i had a total of about 150 iron golems that went at the endermen like crazed attack dogs!!! litterally 2 minutes later the only safe spots for the endermen were on top of the towers that held the ender crystals. placing torches on those took care of that problem (mobs dont spawn near ANY source of light (except in the nether where it is impossible to escape the magmas glow)) then i went for the enderdragon who, strangely enough, hadnt attacked once during this process, and when it did it went for the iron golems instead of me. i found out from this that iron golems also dont take damage from the ENDERDRAGON!! which is rediculous because it is the frickin final boss!! anyway, a few minutes later it was bye-bye endy and i ruled the end!!!

Cool. About iron golems, did you know you can make a building that spawns iron golems, then drowns them, giving you unlimited iron ingots and roses? It spawns because there are 15 villagers in a house, so a golem spawns outside. It activates pistons via pressure plates and pushes them into water (Golems don't spawn in peaceful!).

P.S. - I am working a an awesome redstone project. Will post photos/video on completion.

i created i sefense system of golems. sure it is in creative so i have unlimited iron but it is still cool.

what i dis wasset up lines of iron blocks in the T form for golems then i made a row above all but the first in line and made 2 rows of pumpkins for heads. i had 4 pistons one to push the pumpkins forward one to push them down. i attatched 4 pistons ot the backs of my golems with a really high sand pile in back for reloading. i connected the first 4 pistons to pressure plates in front of my house (not at my door. that would spawn 2 golems every time i left or came home quite annoying.) so that when mobs step on them they get at least 2 iron golems to deal with. i then connected the other 8 pistons to pressure plates in front of the golems so that when they spawned they'd step forward onto the pressure plates reloading the iron. i currently have 3 of these in place one for each side of my house (the front is protected by lava that mobs CANNOT jump over (takes a sprint to do it and u need to start the sprint AT the edge of the lava.) my security system works really well except on creepers.
