I recently (as in within the last month or so...) entered another Sonic the Hedgehog phase. I also sat down one night and read a bunch of pages on his Wiki site. I found this and decided it was too epic and beautifully rendered not to use as a background. I'm pretty sure it's a screenshot from the opening cinema of Sonic Unleashed and not a digital painting, but I haven't yet found a video that's as high-quality as this is, so I can't check. Of the videos I HAVE seen, though, the lighting is correct in all the right places, so the chances are pretty high this actually is a screenshot.
I apologize in advance for stretching the page like mad; I lost the link to the smaller version of it and don't know where I found it to begin with.
