Liz nodded and smiled at Kai and Suicune. "I'm pretty sure you are one lucky gal! I would've been so scar-." Liz was interrupted when she heard the sound of the chime. "Kai, I think the meeting is about to start. You and Suicune should probably find your place, now. Take care!" Liz pulled out her Pokeball and returned Enchantress to it. "Come on, Latias." She said as Latias flew by her. Latias led her to where all the other trainers and their Legends were gathering.

Latios, meanwhile, hovered up to Heero, currently leaning against another column, upon hearing the sound of the chime. It's time now, Heero. The meeting is about to begin. He told his partner. "Really? Was that sound of the chimes really it?" Heero murmured as he opened his eyes slowly, realizing Ho-Oh had initiated the meeting. "Very well, then. This better be worth my time." He then stood up all the way and followed Latios over to their spot on the Spear Pillar. He turned his attention towards the other trainers, particularly Lydia and Ho-Oh whom he assumed was the leader of this meeting. Their spot was right next to Liz and Latias, which wasn't very hard to guess they'd be next to each other. However, to Heero's left was standing the tall Xavier and his Groudon. Latios floated a little over away from Groudon.

"What's the matter, Latios?" Heero asked via telepathy. I see something else within that boy standing next to you, Heero. It seems as though he has the same ambitions as you do, my friend. Latios replied. Heero glanced over to Xavier, who didn't seem to be very friendly by the way Groudon and Ho-Oh were glaring at each other. Most of the personalities of the Pokemon here will tend to match their partners. I believe Groudon and I share the most similarities like so. Latios looked over to Ho-Oh, then back at Groudon.

Heero and Liz overheard the conversation between Xavier and Raine, then Heero finally turned to him in slight anger but said calmly yet serious. "Why would you accuse somebody of being apart of the mediocre Team Rocket? Would you even consider those amateurs to be sinister, then you are foolish. I've met trainers before with true wicked desires, and they put teams Rocket, and the ever-annoying Magma and Aqua to disgrace." He thought about his past when Naxt ambushed a Pokemon center and killed his original Pokemon. Heero turned to Thalia, "You might as well take his accusation as a compliment."

Xavier seemed to watch the scene play out with indifference. "Whether or not you believe me is up to you," he said calmly, with a slightly glance at Raine. "But you all know the rules."

Nearby, Ho-oh sighed. It was just like Xavier to not elaborate. Ho-oh realized that many of the Legendaries had just obtained new partners (he was no exception), and also that many of the Legendaries tended to ignore meeting proceedure, generally relying on their human counterpart to pay attention (instinctively, his eyes flicked over to Rayquaza and his partner). Knowning that he was one of the more resposnible Legendaries, Ho-oh took up where Xavier left off.

Legendaries are far too powerful to get tied up in mundane affairs. Being a part of a criminal organization such as Team Rocket threatens the natural balance. Such a conflict could lead to Legendaries taking sides against one another. A war between Legends and Legendaries must be avoided at all costs for the sake of the Pokemon world. We are keepers of the peace, not bringers of chaos. Here, Ho-oh paused to take a look around. We know what can happen when we fight. For our silly conflicts, the rest of the world suffers greatly. It is far too dangerous to get involved with the criminal teams.

Lydia listened intently, taking mental notes. She gave herself a mental reminder to ask Ho-oh about previous conflict between Legendaries--it seemed to be something rather important. And interesting. The more knowledge, the better!

"If you think the teams are incompotent, then you are the fool." Again, Xavier dropped the slightest of glances toward Heero. "Sure, they keep up with petty crimes, but the real danger is deeper underground. Their technology. With a Legendary on their side..." Here, he trailed off, leaving the statement open to interpretation.

"Then they could potentially harness a Legendary's power." The words tumbled out of her mouth without her even realizing it. "And by that I mean mimic a Legendary's power. Or just capture them. Or maybe create clones, or something--really, I have no idea what kind of tech we're talking about here. But with the power of a Legendary fully at their disposal--like, unconditionally so--then they'd really be a force to be reckoned with. And just plain old dangerous to everyone around." Lydia's voice dropped to muttering under her breat as she frowned quizzically.

Ho-oh decided to finish up for her. Regardless of the facts, joining a Team is simply too dangerous. It threatens the unity among Legendaries we worked so hard for...

Across the circle, Thalia had calmed down considerably. While she still looked cross (as did her still-staticy partner), she was no longer shouting angrily, which was an improvement. "If we're ratting people out," she said rather calmly, though her voice was leaden with acidity, "I do believe I could prattle on for quite some time of the activities some Legends have gotten themselves involved in since we last met. Let's just say not everyone is as honorable as you, Ho-oh."

(I know, lol. Love that Thanksgiving effect. :-P)

"A legendary on their side? What are you talking about?" Heero asked in a bit of confusion. "With all of us here, it seems virtually impossible for the teams, still. They might have the technology and a legendary or two, but their amateur technique and poor strategies are vastly inferior to even one of us." Heero shook his head in disgust and turned towards the circle. This seemed to be a meeting of rather confused people, he thought. The possibility of one trainer here being apart of Team Rocket? This was insane. He heard Lydia's comment, and said, "Regardless, there's no way I'm letting any filthy Team lay their hands on Latios. I don't fear them one bit." Heero said in a stern manner.

Liz watched as Raine, Heero, and Xavier discussed. She didn't like the sight of the little quarrel, but Latias seemed a bit worried, too. There could be that possibility of a Team member to be amongst the trainers or their legends. Like Thalia said, Liz hoped every trainer gathered here was honorable enough. Above all, she wished Heero could be a little friendlier to everybody.

Is something wrong, Liz? Latias asked her through telepathy. "I don't know, Latias. You just can't completely ignore the possibility Team Rocket my be amongst us. Misty told me all these stories about her travels that they were a burden to her and her gang. I've never faced them before, and I never knew somebody can be so cruel towards Pokemon like the tall guy and the brunette said." She turned her head facing Xavier, thinking about how much he might know about the teams.

I would have to agree with Ho-Oh on this. Latios said via telepathy, interrupting its conversation with Groudon. Because we are legendaries doesn't make us invincible. I must warn you all now, we musn't underestimate a team's power so much. The Latios before me fell due to the foolish actions by Team Rocket. Therefore, I am the possible third incarnation. Latios turned to Heero. Do not take Team Rocket lightly, now. What I tell you is true. He then turned back to the other Legends in the circle, speaking without knowledge of their partners. I hope you each know your partner very well. If he or she has any affiliation with the teams or any bit of wicked passion in them, say so now. We cannot afford to have one distrustful pair among us.

(This meeting seems to be getting quite deep. I tried to interpret your post the best I could, Saber.)

“Ugh.” Raine slapped one hand to her face, shaking her head in exasperation. Did everyone just seriously turn this into a debate session? Regardless, the Trainer couldn’t help jumping in again as well.

“Yes, it would be problematic if one of the villains managed to capture a Legendary, but if you think about it, not everyone with…questionable morals is a part of a Team, as Thalia had stated. If you want to be so wary, then you might as well start suspecting everyone.” A sarcastic smirk crossed her face. “But how many of you are willing to go that far? Only a handful, I’ll bet. Possibly not even.”

With that said, she turned her attention to Xavier. “For the record, I never said that I didn’t believe you. I simply asked for proof. After all, just throwing random accusations around is foolish.” The brunette casually gestured toward Heero as she added, “Just as much as being arrogant enough to underestimate even the slightest threat, I dare say.” Hearing Raine target yet another person, the hapless Celebi moaned loudly, burying her face in both hands. Unfortunately, the human of the duo took no notice.

“Oh, and…Heero, was it?” The brunette glanced over at Latios’ human, giving him a small, curt nod. “I may not know what your story is, but I would have to agree with what’s-his-name over there.” As if for emphasis, she jerked her thumb in Xavier’s direction. “Don’t think the teams are incompetent. Let your guard down too much, and it’ll bite you in the- well, it’ll bite you.”

At Latios’ telepathic message, Celebi raised her head, glancing at the dragon with a small, weary smile. Her response, like his, was directed only toward the other Legendaries in the area. I can say with confidence that Raine here, though rather…argumentative, is quite honest. But Latios, would a Legendary really step forward and give up his or her partner so readily? Her wings fluttered anxiously once more. Yes, as Ho-oh has called us, we are the keepers of peace, but not all of us hold that role in top priority. I am sure that there are some among us who would protect our partners from each other, if needed to.

The time-traveler hesitated, as if uncertain about what she was to say next. When she finally spoke again, her words came out slowly. Even I, who loathe fighting, would rather charge straight into a battle before letting any of you harm my partner.

Arian tried not to wince as Maia became even more excited, if that were even possible. "Er, right, he managed to get out. "Crazy hero stuff, sure..." He was then conveniently distracted by Groudon's appearance with his partner. He frowned at Xavier's sole comment. You're large and you can fly, he thought at Lugia, but we had to travel for a week and still got here on time.
I have actually been on the move for a month and a week, but I understand. Lugia appeared similarly irritated with the newest arrival, but offered no further comment on the matter. Come now, the meeting is starting, she added as the bell chime sounded. Arian completely forgot about her and all the other legendaries for a while, staring at the pool of light and the myriad patches around its edges. ...Arian.
"Coming!" The boy nearly bit his tongue as he answered verbally out of habit. He turned to give Lydia a farewell wave as the two teenagers headed toward their respective legendaries, but quickly realized he needn't have bothered; Lugia was waiting on the patch right next to Ho-oh's. He shuffled over sheepishly, peering at the patch as he stepped over its boundaries. It appeared to be a pale shade of blue-tinged silver.
Not two minutes into the actual meeting, Arian already had a headache. Clutching his ears, as though that could somehow block the angry telepathic arguing in his mind, he leaned against Lugia involuntarily. She carefully slid a wing off her back and settled it around him. At the same time, he felt something blunt the mental shouting so that it wasn't as loud. Cautiously, he removed his hands from his ears. Thanks.
Least I could do. Arian noticed a slight tension in her 'voice.' The massive Flying/Psychic was looking between Groudon and Zapdos' partners with a shade of disapproval in her expression, though Arian had to be almost literally underneath her to realize just what it looked like. He tried actually listening to the argument and found that he could follow it now. If you so wish, you may speak your thoughts, she told him. Just... Arian received flashes of images from her, showing Xavier, Raine, and Heero. Try not to phrase things the way they do.
I won't. The dark-haired teen looked around the circle at the other legendaries and their partners, listening to what they said. I don't know if I should, though. I didn't hear of Team Plasma doing anything in Unova, and I know nothing of the other Teams...
That is fine. Lugia refolded her wing and straightened up. I agree with both Celebi and Ho-oh, she said in a louder 'voice' than usual. Arian could tell she was now communicating outside of their personal bond. It is important to maintain the balance we have finally achieved and to avoid any situation that could set us at odds with one another once more. However, if a conflict were to arise, I will take whichever side my Legend chooses.
"But I would never choose a side without asking you first," Arian protested, too startled to utilize his newfound telepathic link. "I mean, you know so much more about the world than I do!"
Nevertheless, my statement stands, she responded quietly.

(Given Metal's last post, I feel it'd be prudent for this.)

Unknown to all those gathered, a single figure dressed in white and gray was lying on her front on a slab of rock, a fourth of a mile from the legendary meeting. She lay perfectly still, all her attention focused through a pair of binoculars she was holding up to her eyes. A tiny earpiece buzzed in her ear, making her smirk. Not a fan of the Teams, I see, Louanne thought. She propped herself up on her elbows and reached for a pen, then jotted down a few notes in the notebook spread open beside her. Groudon's Legend. Antagonistic. Zapdos' Legend, Thalia. Possibly a member of Team Rocket. Celebi's Legend. Cynical yet cautious. Mewtwo's Legend. Appears to be somewhat of a peacemaker. Keldeo's Legend. Young and over excited. Latios' legend, Heero. Dismissive of the Teams. Ho-oh's Legend. Analytical and quick to consider the consequences. Latias' Legend. Apparent connection with gym leader- She stopped in her note taking suddenly, frowning. What was that sound?
Setting down the pen, the girl removed the earpiece. Upon confirming the whining sound was not coming from it, she replaced it, then looked around. The whine actually seemed to be coming from somewhere below her. She glanced through the binoculars at the legendary meeting, then decided she would learn of anything of interest through her earpiece. Carefully, she descended from her stony perch, tracking the source of the sound. It led her to a relatively open area with nothing but a tumble of fallen pillars and several shallow pools of water. Must have rained recently. She nearly passed the area by before realizing the whine was emanating from one of the largest pools.
She approached it cautiously, one of her hands reaching into her hip bag. The surface of the pool was moving, despite the utter lack of wind at the Spear Pillar. Frowning in perplexity, Louanne watched the ripples dart across the surface. It almost appeared to be moving in a spiral... The instant she reached this conclusion, something happened to the water. It seemed to shatter, and suddenly it was no longer reflecting the sky. Instead, she was looking into a deep abyss, black with dark swirls of bizarre colors.
Terror froze her into place, unable to tear her gaze away. It's that place again, she thought frantically. The one I always see, and it'll vanish now, and I'll never know if I really saw it or not, and I must be losing my mind- But no, the mirage was growing clearer, stronger, and she couldn't see the ripples of the swirling water anymore; the pool simply appeared to be a hole in the ground leading to that strange, frightful place. And for the first time, she saw eyes. Intelligent, watchful eyes, glowing dimly red, and looking right back at her.
She pulled a Pokeball from her bag and opened her mouth. Before she could toss the ball or give an order, the water exploded out toward her, condensing into thick tendrils that spun around her like a cocoon. She had time for one short scream before they collapsed back into the pool, cutting off her voice and leaving nothing behind. The pool cleared and returned to reflecting the blue expanse above it, the ripples growing smaller and smaller, then vanishing completely.

(Her earpiece only allowed her to hear the Legends, since her microphone bug could only detect verbal dialogue. She is also still on Spear Pillar despite being rather far away; I assume it's a pretty huge place, since it's pretty much the only thing on top of a mountain range. Lots of space up there. We probably just didn't get to see much of it in the games. Who explores culturally significant ruins anyway when there's a criminal Team to be stopped and a legendary to capture?)

A bell chimed as the platue lit up with coloured lights. Rosanna looked at Victini whom flew off in front of her towards his place. She followed him closely as everyone moved to their places, stepping through into the lights as she looked around, it was both amazing and beautiful and reminded her of the Aurora Borealis.
Ho-oh initiated the meeting once everyone was in place and already it had turned into a heated discussion about the teams. She looked at Victini, It seems this meeting is off to a bad start and seems to be going off topic, should I say something? She asked himPossibly, just be careful on how you phrase it, you don't want to be the next one accused of being part of a team.. Victini said to her causeing her to giggle at the thought, a reaction that he didn't quite understand.
I too agree with Celebi and Ho-Oh, Teams with morality issues cause enough trouble for both pokemon and humans alike, without the assistance of legendary's, its best for us to stay out of their affairs as much as possible. Victini said adding his bit to the discussion, Although sometimes it is unavoidable for us to keep out of events.
“I can't say much about the other teams but where Team Rocket is concerned as far as I'm aware they have nothing, at this present point in time, to do with any lengendary's. Yes they are always trying to capture them and in the past have created their own, in retrospect it would be unwise to underestimate them.” She said jumping into the debate. “If they do have anything to do with lengendary's its highly secret and only known to a select few people. That being said the chances are unlikely and if Thalia is a member, Zapdos has nothing to do with them at the moment.” She continued.
“Not only that but one may have other motives for being a member, sometimes its easier to work from the inside of an organization.” In this part she spoke from experience, having dealt with Team Rocket on a few occasions.

(( Figured I should weigh in. And it actually helps Crimson's backstory a bit!))

Suddenly, Crimson became aware of quite the argument brewing. Listening in, he understood that among them was a Trainer though to be from Team Rocket. Crimson laid back among the flowers and sighed. Team Rocket had never shown their faces in Hoenn or Sinnoh, but both regions had seen their own problems... Looking over at Shaymin, he could tell she was aware of his thought process.

"Don't worry. If we see Team Magma or Team Aqua... "

A few of the Poké Balls at Crimson's waist shuddered, and Crimson was well aware of why.

As per the norm, Lydia's mind was racing through all of this. However, there was one important theme she noted: A Legendary's tie to their Legend seemed to be more important to them than anything, even their own personal sense of morality.

Reading her thoughts (she would really never get used to this), Ho-oh turned his head to look down at Lydia. You recall how your studies showed that there was a bond between pokemon and humans--a bond of trust, friendship and loyalty? And you also recall how the bonds that Legendaries create are far stronger than any normal bond? questioned Ho-oh, the message directed soley for Lydia to hear, That is why. It is instinctive, it is natural, moreso than our on preconceived ideas of morality. When it comes down to it, I know I would fight all of them to protect you.

The next question that surfaced in Lydia's mind was why, if it posed so much a threat, did the Legendaries choose to bring the Legends into their lives? Ho-oh perceived this and responded, Oh, don't think you Legends are simply tools of destruction. Long ago, we didn't have organized meetings such as this, and everyone simply did whatever they wanted. Those times were fare more chaotic. Humans, for the most part, are far more rational than Pokemon. When it coems down to it, most of us revert to our instinct to fight, which solves nothing. It was our human partners that proposed we try and talk with the other Legendaries of the land. For a long time, the meetings were run by Legends alone... there are still several Legendaries with destructive impulses that are only barely kept in check by their human counterparts. Again, his eyes flicked over to Rayquaza and his partner for a fraction of a second. While, at times, it would be easier if we ignored the exsistence of our Legend (which, mind you, wouldn't be as easy as it sounds--there is a bond between us, after all), it is certainly more prudent to have you around.

"Oh." Lydia voiced this comment out loud. Before she could open her mouth again, Ho-oh sent yet another telepathic message to her,

Fear not. I don't simply have you around beacause I believe it to be advantageous to myself. You are a remarkable young girl, and I am happy to have you as my partner.

A stupid grin crossed Lydia's features, and she dashed over to hug the large bird. Now, turning her attention back to the metting (It had still gone on while Ho-oh was explaining stuff to her? How rude!), Lydia again began to puzzle over the whole criminal Teams thing.

"No one is simply going to admit everything they've been up to," Xavier was saying, "We've all got our secrets. Everyone here."
((If you're wondering, the occassional reference to Rayquaza and his partner is a reference to my old Pokemon Legends fic that I never finished... I haven't decided if I kind of want Emmy (Rayquaza's partner) in as a little side character yet, so I've just kinda decided to vaugely acknowledge her exsistance for now :P

Also note: I haven't played Gen 5 games, so I'm totally lost on the whole Team Plasma thing, just as an FYI :P ))

(Got ninja'd... Gonna edit my post again.)

I shall take my stand with Lugia on this subject.[/color] Latias said loudly in the mingle of conversations between the Legendaries. I do, too, believe in maintaining this balance. I will not abandon Liz, myself, and I will be the one following her until the very end. Liz, upon hearing Latias' statement, gasped and looked towards her Legendary.

"Latias, what are you saying?" Liz asked her. The Legends are apparently in disagreement with Latios on how we handle our partners who could possibly be on teams. Even we have our share of arguments between the Legends. You need to know one important factor, Liz. We musn't take any risk in destroying the bonds we have, regardless of what affiliation our partner chooses. Chaos will be born if ever a Legend's bond is weak with their human. The consequences, I will not name what exactly, but it's very important to maintain a strong relationship in this fight for peace. Are you understanding all of this? Liz nodded and turned towards the other Legends, particularly Thalia. "I just don't think that girl over there has anything to do with Team Rocket. It's just wrong to accuse anybody here of that. I promise you, Latias, I'll be by your side no matter what. I have one question, though... Don't all Legendaries choose to bond with somebody on the good side?" Latias looked down at Liz and sadly shook her head. Not necessarily, unfortunately... And you have my word, Liz. Latias winked at her partner.

Liz didn't want to take on a team she's never faced before, and kept telling herself she didn't believe Thalia was with Team Rocket. In response, she stepped forward, "I agree with Rosanna on this. Because Thalia could be a member doesn't make Zapdos a member of Team Rocket. It's up to the Legendary what it wants to do in response to its' partner's actions. Myself, having no experience with Team Rocket, I can only go with the flow of everybody else here. In fact, I'd like to work with somebody among the humans who already has fair knowledge of the teams. If they really will be an issue, that is. That is all, thank you." Liz concluded her words politely.

Latios turned to the other Legendaries who disagreed with him. In sheer dissapointment, he hovered back towards Heero, maintaining his proper and calm position. Very well, then. I respect everyone's decision. However, if a conflict were ever to arise between Legends and the Legendaries, I will not hold back so easily. I have to point that out, also, for those few who don't share as strong a bond with their partner. We can all agree that loyalty to our human partner is our number one priority. Nevertheless, I apologize for my bluntness. I will speak no more on the issue. Carry on. Latios finished his statement and resumed listening to the meeting's conversation.

Heero moved his eyes to his left a little, noticing Latios in deep thought. "What's the matter, now?" He asked his partner telepathy. It's nothing. Us Legendaries tend to communicate amongst ourselves from time to time. Even we get into disagreements. Latios replied with his eyes looking straight towards the pairs of the other legendaries. Heero, have you noticed any poor relationship between the Legends and their partners? Latios asked and slanted his eyes towards his partner. "Not exactly. Though it does appear like Yuki and Mewtwo could blend together a bit more." Heero replied. Good. We were just discussing the issue of our bonds with our partners regardless of the path our Legend chooses to take. If one side of the bond is weak, the partnership, over time, will gradually fail. It's important we all know our partner very well. You and I must promise to one-another to stay partners no matter the circumstance. Understood, Heero? Latios said to him in an obligatory tone.

"Alright. Will do, Latios." Heero stated and looked back at the others. He didn't really seem to care right now, since team affiliations didn't seem like a big deal. He took his advice into consideration, then resumed his participation in the meeting.

Kai located her place in the circle, it glowed a serene purple and blue and white, all in all, very calming. She stood quietly by Suicune, listening to the arguing trainers go back and forth. She gave a sigh. Kai had been lucky, never having been exposed to any of the crime syndicates that littered the regions, but she knew of the havoc they wreaked on other trainers. At this point the argument was starting to get repetitive.

After listening to the arguments, she took a dive and chimed in.

"Does it really matter whether or not everyone here is trustworthy? Even if Thalia is a member of Team Rocket, she might not necessarily want Zapdos involved. For all we know, she's been keeping it a secret to keep them from abusing Zapdos' power. Now, I suggest that we get on with whatever it is we're supposed to be talking about, rather than arguing."

All eyes were suddenly on her and she blushed at the attention. Suicune stepped between her and the others.

"Kai is correct, we'd best being discussing the whole purpose of this meeting. At your leave, Ho-oh," Suicune said, inclining it's head to the large bird.

As the meeting went on, both Yuki and Mewtwo couldn't help but smiling like guilty giddy children. To mask this, the pair moved in sync to hold a hand to their faces as if deeply engrossed in what was the current discussion; none would notice either's smile. After all the past meetings, it's decided now that there be a discussion of Legends potentially holding loyalties with a Team? The boy inquired telepathically to Mewtwo, having lost interest in the argument, though keeping track of everyone's opinion on the possibility of a Rocket being among them. How entertaining would it be if the others knew what we did?

Mewtwo closed his eyes, pushing the annoying burst of voices further back into his mind so that it wasn't quite as deafening as earlier, and felt his lips twitch further upward in hopes to forming a grin. Astronomically amusing, but let's not bother. It'll only give us more potent migraines the moment the knowledge is brought forth. Even as he said it, the Legendary knew that Yuki had heard the reluctance ringing in his tone. Both wanted some fun out of this, and pointing out a Rocket or a Magma would be just what they were looking for. Meetings were always such a bore otherwise.

The pair took on a moment of silence, willing themselves to concentrate on the matters at hand, when it brought to their attention their answer had been answered. So sides would be taken if the arguments ever escalated to skirmishes. It would be us against the world. Mewtwo and Yuki shared a glance, all their thoughts revealed to the other through their eyes - though no one else would see anything amiss for both Pokemon and trainer had the same unreadable look. To have spoken the same line at the same time was proof to the pair that they were loyal to one another; this knowledge wiped the childish smiles off their faces and replaced them with more solemn, knowing frowns.

The irony that you would be paired with someone who has ties with Team Rocket.

At that, Mewtwo shrugged; his focus appearing to return to the conversation in time to hear Suicune's comment about moving on. Ironic indeed, but only to an extent. Your tie isn't to the Team, but to the leader- just like mine, and there is a reason for that. In the corner of his eye, he was sure Yuki had nodded in agreement to his words. Throughout the entire conversation, neither had so much looked at another member of the meeting besides on another. Even now, they were more focused on either the ground or the sky. If we do move on to the "point" of this meeting, then that will be the shortest argument they have had in a while. For whatever reason, both felt the disappoint in his words and expressed it in subtle motions; Mewtwo flicking his tail as if in impatience and Yuki running a hand through his hair.

Well, the teen attempted a more enthused tone, though failing quite miserably as it sounded incredibly dull of life, the sooner this is over, the sooner we're out of here and breaking things back home. Although it didn't sound excited, the thought itself was at least exciting to the pair. Their excitement was cut short however, when both felt the buzzing in Yuki's mind being prompted by the technology in the boy's gloves. Apparently someone was trying to get a hold of the teenager at this wondrous time. When Yuki lifted a hand slightly, palm facing himself, the boy frowned thoughtfully just as Mewtwo let out a huff of displeasure. The circle they stood in fluctuated slightly as Legend and Legendary felt disapproval at the name written in pulsing letters on the palm of that glove.

In unison, the two turned their attention back to either the ground or the sky and waited for the others to continue on with the bothersome meeting. Yuki, deciding this wasn't a time to be answering calls, clenched his hand and the buzzing at the edge of his mind abruptly ended. The boss would have to wait to be penciled into Yuki's schedule whether the business was critically important or not. Let's hope it's just to do with my Thursday night meeting now that I'm supposed to be home. As response, Mewtwo crossed his arms as Yuki did; neither believed it was the Thursday night that was going to be discussed.

"If a Legend was among one of the Teams and wanted to cause problems using that status, then problems would have been caused and it would not be a secret of who had affiliations with what Teams. But because none are aware of such allegiances, then that is not the problem with which we face. The problem, then, must not lie with the renown criminal organizations but elsewhere. Has any other Legendaries attempted to detect anything amiss?"

"Look, what's the big deal about all this anyway?" Jessia broke in. She was beginning to feel as bored with the proceedings as mew looked. "Evil teams have used legendaries in the past and they've always been defeated before they can do too much damage. What are you worried about anyway? Even if one or two of us do join up with one team or another, all we'd need to do is combine our strength to stop them and they wouldn't have a chance."

She took another look around. "Besides, you go to all this trouble to find partners and bring us all the way up here for a meeting. You've got to have something more important to discuss than what might happen if someone ends up joining one of several teams with a history of losing to single trainers. So let's get on with it."

Mew still didn't speak, but the little pink pokémon was nodding in agreement.

Upon hearing the comments about moving on with the meeting, Ho-oh turned his head toward Xavier. Xavier, he said, You and I both know that there was more to you bringing up the teams that simply to accuse someone and to bring chaos. It's not your style. Now, if you'd please continue. It took all of his self control not to let sarcasm drip into his message, though Lydia was certainly able to catch a general vibe of annoyance.

By Xavier's expression, he seemed to ignore Ho-oh's remark. However, he once again spoke. "Very perceptive, old bird. I do have more information." He paused for a bit, once again examining the back of his hand with detatched interest.

"I've done investigating into their technology. It's not just them harnessing Legendaries power we have to worry about. They know about Legends. They know we're just human. We're not as powerful (well, perhaps the majority of us aren't), and we're disposable. We're a way to get to the Legendaries."

"Get to the point!" Lydia muttered under her breath, yet she swore she saw Xavier's eyes flash angrily in her direction for a fraction of a second.

"They're working on a device that can tell us apart from regular humans. A device that reveals we're Legends. And I'm sure we don't want to figure out what they'd do after." Here, he paused for a moment. "It's not all fun and games. An Aqua grunt tried to shoot me after I defeated him in a battle. They could do the same to any of us if they figured out who we were."

Instead of being frightened by this news, Lydia merely looked thoughtful. "If I were them," she stated, "I figure it'd be more prudent to capture us. They know our Legendaries will come chasing after us. However, some of us here are plenty good trainers, and would be pretty hard to catch, so those guys might be just easier to shoot and be done with it. Others, though... well, we've still got the chance to catch them off guard by using some of the powers that come with our bond (though I still have yet to master lighting a twig on fire--hmph!). Then again, if we use those powers, they don't even need some sort of fancy machine to know what we are. I mean, you really don't see ordinary humans with the power to levitate or shoot fire from their fingertips, or whatever--kind of a dead giveaway. But, then again, there's the chance that they'll never figure this technology out and we don't have to worry--that's certainly always an option!" she added, attempting to end on an optimistic note.

If what you say is true, Xavier, Ho-oh added, far more darkly than his counterpart, Then all of the Legends are in serious danger.
May the Triforce be with you.

Heero overheard Xavier's and Lydia's discussion. The words "an Aqua grunt tried to shoot me" caught his attention, and his sudden views of the Teams began to change. A device that could harness the power of Legends? He's heard of several attempts by the team before, most notably the Blue Orb and the Red Orb, but something that can also distinguish regular humans and Legend-bonded humans?

"A Team Aqua grunt actually tried to shoot you, hm? Well then, I guess I can agree with the punk on that. You hear me, everybody?" Heero announced to everyone in response to Xavier's information. "I happen to be an expert when it comes to concealment. In order to stay out of sight of those Team punks, first thing you should remember is not to show your Legend out. If possible, we must consider keeping them in our Pokeballs if we need to. Keep your face as hidden as possible if you must, too." Heero declared while cracking his knuckles. "If, in any situation, they engage you, battle with your regular Pokemon. I don't know how this device functions, but we should guard our Legends with our life. If anybody has something to add to help out this problem, please say so now." Heero studied the other trainers to see if they had any ideas.

Heero noticed a somewhat frightened expression on Ho-Oh. He then glimpsed at Latios, who was silent. Through the bond between Heero and his Legend, he too, could feel fear running through Latios. He knew the Legends were afraid they were in danger, too.

Liz stepped forward once again. Unlike Lydia, she appeared to be nervous towards the situation, and chills ran down her backbone. Don't be afraid to say something, Liz. That's why we're all here, to discuss the plan of defense. Latios said softly via telepathy.

"Heero, you need to keep in mind not all of us are as cunning as you are. Look around you for a moment, please. Some of the trainers here aren't trained in much outside Pokemon. While your idea does work, I suggest we all just always stay in groups. There should be always two pairs of Legends together, so one could rescue the other when that machine-thingy operates." Liz looked at everyone in the circle, then back at Heero. "And what if we can't keep our Legend in our Pokeballs? Some of them are so big to be concealed. We have to have a plan B." Liz stepped backwards as she gradually began to relax.

Heero scratched his chin and went into deep thought for a moment. He then observed the other trainers, keeping mental notes of them in his mind. Arian and Lugia, I'm not sure how they can easily hide from them. Same with Lydia and Ho-Oh. Yuki and Mewtwo can possibly defend themselves. Hmm... "Concealment may be out of the question, then. If anybody has another plan to keep away from the Teams, I'm open for ideas." Heero turned to Ho-Oh. "Is it possible to keep our partners in the Pokeball? Not saying it's a solution to the Team problem, but it will help conceal all of you Legends better."

((I think “Legend” refers the human partners, actually. And if I had offended anyone with this post, my apologies. That’s my trouble with using a rather opinionated character.))

As the meeting moved onto the next topic, Raine crossed her arms, looking rather skeptical about what news this Xavier character could bring. Little by little, however, she began to seem vaguely impressed.

“Well, looks like you actually do know your stuff.” A genuine smile appeared, even at the grim news the male had brought. “While I, like Lydia, hope that they won’t be able to perfect such a tool, I suppose we’ll have to find a way to counter such a problem, won’t we?”

She paused for a moment as Heero interjected with his own suggestion. All at once, she went rigid, her jaws clenching tightly. A slight tremble suddenly ran through her body. Startled, Celebi snapped her head upward to peer anxiously into the face of her human.

Raine? The time-traveler could clearly sense an aura was rage that was emitting from the young woman. Despite the obvious anger the Trainer displayed through body language, when she spoke, her words were carefully controlled.

“Yes, you’re right, Heero, in that we should use our own Pokemon in battles and keep the Legendaries safe at all cost. But-” At this moment, she lost a bit of control, evident from the sudden raise in pitch, “-to keep our partners in Pokeballs?”

Raine!
Celebi scolded harshly, swiping her hand across the brunette’s face. Calm yourself! He’s only trying to help. In response, Raine let out a shuddery sigh. As she took a few deep breaths to ease the rage within her, she covered her face wearily with one hand.

“I apologize,” she muttered, not looking up. “But I personally believe that keeping our partners in Pokeballs defeats the meaning of the partnership. Yes, I’ll admit, it would be easier to hide the Legendaries in Pokeballs.” She raised her head from her hand, revealing a determined expression. “But it’s a method that I will not use if I can help it.”

Brushing the few stray strands that had fallen in her face during her outburst, Raine continued, “We needn’t always keep our partners beside us, do we? Before any of us came along, they’ve done well hiding themselves from humans- without the help of the Legends- and the teams would be targeting primarily the Legends anyway, if Xavier's information is correct.” Crossing her arms once more, she resumed, “Right now, the machine hasn’t been fully developed. We’ll need to keep track of the progress of the project and figure out exactly it’s supposed to work, such as how it can differentiate us from regular humans.

“Secondly, in the meantime, we’ll need to toughen up so that we can defend ourselves and the Legendaries if we need to.”
She paused at this moment, surveying the other Legends. A certain young girl in particular caught her eye. “Some of you may be experienced, but I’m sure there are others who aren’t. I believe, if we are to minimize the chances of any of us or our partners getting caught, we should help the inexperienced Legends find ways to protect themselves.

“And thirdly…”
Raine paused in the middle of her speech, frowning thoughtfully as she recalled Liz’s suggestion. “While the idea of pairing up seems reasonable, we’ll have to be careful about how we pair up. Two people who can’t work well together will be problematic, of course, and there’s always the risk that any of the teams could ended up capturing two Legends, rather than one.”

Finding herself running out of words, the brunette simple left it at that, clasping her hands behind her back as if to signify the end of her speech. Beside her, Celebi chuckled lowly.
Never thought you would be so passionate about this.
