Hey.

Nothing much going on right now. Just some reading for AP US history then will probably relax before school tomorrow.

Peace out!

Hi.

Well sort of a busy week for me, Biology Test today, American Colonial History test tomorrow and probably tomorrow get started in a somewhat big Government project that I'm dreading to do (involved picking out a republican canidate and predict how he'd fair if he was nominated, and I don't care much for polytics or the Republican party atm) and then this weekend going to (as my dad put it) get slaushed with my brother this weekend at the college he goes to. And possibly Sunday get the nerve up to ask someone on a small date.

Yep, busy me :)

Konnichiwa.

Dude, SK, I loved that story! It was really good. I didn't bother participating in the ARG that it developed into, though; don't feel like freaking myself out.

In other news, I think it's high time for me to learn to use Adobe Illustrator. 95% of my design class is using it, and I get the feeling I'd save a lot of time if I'm not trying to mix paint to match some certain shade of blue-gray... Not to mention I keep getting frustrated with how un-clean my brush strokes are. Feh.

Hi! I prefer Photoshop to Illustrator, though it really does depend on what type of image you're making and what you plan to use it for. If you're talking about paints though, Corel Painter is probably the best when it comes to simulating actual painting.

In other news, despite my best efforts, my left ear is still bothering me thanks to that water from the beach. I think the water iis gone, but my ear still feels plugged up and my hearing in that ear is around half of what it should be. It's better than it was...but still really annoying.

Ohayou.

I've tried using Photoshop to do my homework for that class and it...didn't turn out very well. I'm no good at freehand-drawing straight lines or regular polygons, and I'm not familiar enough with the tools in Photoshop to use those instead. Additionally, since our assignment is to use only dots and lines to express a certain design concept (ie emphasis via anomaly, symmetry, absolute balance, gestalt, etc.), I'm not looking for a digital replacement for painting, since we're not doing anything with pictorial subjects. I just need a method that is less frustrating than physical paint mixing and with a wider color possibility range than colored pencil (trying to imitate opacity with colored pencil is a nightmare). My teacher himself has said that using Photoshop for this kind of assignment isn't the best idea, and it probably is a good idea for me to know how to use Illustrator in any case, so it's a good time to start.

Bonjour!

French quiz and AP test tomorrow. But before that, church youth band practice tonight and studying for the load of poop I'm gonna take tomorrow. I'm awaiting my visit to Best Buy to pick up my copy of Pokemon White, too.

I've used Photoshop before, and I found it rather difficult to use. It was mainly because it was just my first time and I had no idea what I was doing. That's all I can advice since I've never used Illustrator.

Peace out!

Hi! Photoshop and Illustrator are pro-level tools, so they do have a rather steep learning curve. But once you learn them you can do some pretty amazing stuff.

If any of you own an iPod or Mac computer... R.I.P. Steve Jobs. You'll be remembered.

I don't think of him as the one linked to Macs or iPods, since I'm not a huge fan of them.

I do, however, think of him as the one who gave us the mouse. Think of how behind we'd be on everything if we didn't have one.

RIP Steve Jobs, such a great thinker. Always did something different.

Hey.

RIP, man. In BC calc, every day I write a math joke on the board. Today's had to do with iPods (where the i is the square root of -1), in rememberance of Steve. Then we all talked about how awesome he was for a bit.

Soooo because of the Jewish holiday, football game was tonight instead of tomorrow. It was fun! Except it means I don't get to start homework until 11! Yay!

Hi! I don't really like Apple much. They make good stuff but it's overpriced, they're too elitist, and they lock down their hardware and software way too much. But I won't deny that Apple and Jobs did make some important innovations over the years.

Anyway, before of that Jewish holiday Saber mentioned (Yom Kippur), I'm off to Jacksonville. Services begin tonight and run through most of tomorrow and since the congregation I'm going to is 90 minutes away from my apartment, I figured it'd be a whole lot easier to just get a cheap hotel room and spend the night. I'm not bringing my computer since I'll be out doing stuff today and, with Yom Kippur being the holiest day of the year, I try to keep away from my e-mail, web sites, etc. I should be back sometime Saturday night.

Hey.

Soooo.... school.... uhm... yeah. My life is just kind of a mess right now, and I kind of broke today when my teacher handed back the essay I worked wicked hard on and it was a C-. I'm so frusturated, because he even wrote that my essay was gramatically awesome, it's just that he doesn't agree with my interpretation. Ever. EVER. APPPARENTLY he doesn't agree with it so much that he feels it'd be fun to take off 28 points. Same thing on my previous essay, except he only took off 20 points that time. YAY I HAVE A C IN A CLASS AND IT'S COLLEGE APPLICATION TIME THAT'S SO COOL WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

End result was me not speaking for the rest of class, then quickly booking it out of the class so I could find my friend for a hug. I didn't mean to, but I just kind of lost it and started crying, which I normally try to avoid doing at school at all costs and then like four other people I know thought it'd be cool to walk by right then and ugh I HATE letting people see me cry.

I'm just so frusturated because I don't know how to fix it. For a test, I can stay up for hours studying, but I worked extra long and extra hard on this essay and it still didn't help because apparently I can't interpret anything properly. Not to mention this KILLS any hope I might have had of getting into MIT. Awesome.

Hey.

...wow. In my experience, a teacher should never take off points because they don't agree with you. That's like saying "F, because I'm an atheist and you compared this book to a Biblical excerpt". A class based off of essays on text should always grade based on grammar, style, and interpretation, and should never grade based on the teacher's personal opinions. I really think that a teacher should get a reprimand for that.

Aww... D: *gives SK a virtual hug*

I haven't had the misfortune of having a teacher like that, but I know of many people who did. All I can say is, I'm sorry you had to put up with that treatment, and I hope things improve for you soon. :<

Hi!

*hugs Saber tightly* That really sucks, buddy. D:

I had a teacher so horrible like that back in 8th grade, too. She always put me down despite having an A in her class, and often praised only the students she thought were "cool." She was full of herself and gave me harsh criticisms all the time, even on tests I did fairly good on. What's worst of all, she states how unsuccessful her students will be from time to time. No wonder she ended up being a boring history teacher. Such hypocrites... But don't let one teacher get to you like that. I've been through the same treatment by a teacher, before. We all think you're much better at what you do than he does.

Keep in mind, though, college professors literally won't care at all. I haven't been to college yet, but many professors there won't care about their students one bit. Their main purpose there is to make the university better, not to teach.

In other news, this week was rather stressful once again. I have some work to make up from yesterday for taking a test. Tonight's gonna be a busy Friday, ugh...

Peace out.
