I wish I could believe that things would get better. At this point I really have only one reason to live. If that reason were to disappear I wouldn't have any reason to continue living. I still just wanna sit in a far off corner and die. Nothing is enjoyable or fun anymore. Just about everything in my life makes me miserable.

Hi! While the right mental state is certainly important, as is a healthy lifestyle, there are times when depression can only be treated with drugs. If you haven't already, you should probably check with a doctor and see if they recommend anything.

I agree with Josiah; antidepressants are currently the only reason I am able to be a normally functioning member of society. Taking drugs may not sound like an answer, but it's better than being miserable all the time.

Ello! I can only agree with the two posters above me... While I don't highly recommend it, they're both right.

Boy it's been a long week. An old friend of mine got me back into playing Runescape, so that's what I'm doing right now to entertain myself a bit. So far, school's going alright and I'm meeting up with all my friends. Life's good!

Peace out!

From what I've seen, medication should be sort of a last resort thing, though. Like if you go see a doctor and they just say "Take these pills lol" that's no good. It really depends on what the cause is. Some depressions are legitimately caused by hormone imbalances which can really only be overcome by taking medication to correct that. But if it's caused by something else, like excessive stress or bullying, medicine might not work for you. A vacation or some counseling works better in those sort of situations.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Heso!

Kaida be rewatching the Skypia ark! Yay for One Piece. ^_^

As for depression, the medication is supposed to be a short term fix in regards to situations where the depression is caused by stress/not having a job/work etc. In such situations where ones been out of work for awhile, they can begin to get depressed (not bringing in money, not helping support the family, dont have anything to do at home, no self esteem, confidence and generally think their worthless). Having depression can make it difficult to find a job, in which case the medication helps to bring them out of that mindset. They start believing in themselves find a go and one work picks up the condition rightens itself out and they have decressed amounts of the medication untill their off it completely. Of course thats just one of the situations. Many others out there.

Also Sorbey (baby budgie) may be sick :-( have to make sure she gets better.

Hey.

I may be inccorect about this, but I was led to believe that you only should resort to medication if you actually have a chemical imbalance in your brain. My friend does have clinical depression, so there's really not much he can do but take antidepressants. Same with three of my cousins (runs in the family... I'm actually surprised I haven't got it. I'm fairly certain my depression isn't severe enough to actually be a chemical imbalance). So, if you haven't already seen a docotor... do so.

SO band camp has been so busy that I wasn't even able to get online yesterday! And today at camp was totally "chew out Saber for the stupidest reasons" day because I was yelled at by the staff four times today for the most absurd things. From playing the Tetris theme on piano (Like, seriously? I wasn't aware the Tetris theme was a federal offense....) to trying to add some humor to my senior bio, everyone seemed to have an issue with what I did. Band camp this year hasn't been as fun... we didn't have our overnight, and all our breaks are cut ridiculously short (some kids have to practically run as they eat their meals so they can get back to the field on time), so we've had no bonding time, which is normally a huge part of band camp. I don't think there was a single moment today where I got to sit down with my friends and chill. Bah.

Moi,

Well, I'm not much of an expert on depression, but, well, what Saber said is pretty much what I know. I haven't told many people about this, but I'm actually going to a therapist to see if I possibly have depression. I think it's probably just natural for people of my age to get a bit overwhelmed and moody at times, but, well...my mom is a nurse, so she might know a bit more then I do on this matter.

So, I've been listening to a bunch of songs from 1776. Right now, I'm listening to "The Egg". I think 1776 is a great musical. It not only is funny and quite interesting, but it teaches people a bit about what was going on in that time period. (And, goodness, that's just more of a reason for my school to use it as one of their productions this/some year. I don't normally go to them, but if they did 1776, I'd definitally go.)

I still don't know if I should try and get medication...........I'd have to tell my family.............something I really don't wanna do. Not very fond of them at all. They would probably tell me to quit lying, you just want attention or something. I am kinda lying to them though, I'm not myself around them, not my real personality.

Hi! Silver is right. There's different possible causes of depression, many of which can be dealt with without drugs. To briefly summarize them...

1. Life Situation (school, work, family, etc)
Usually this is combined with one of the other causes. But if it's the only one, it's just a matter of staying positive and trying to improve things as much as you can.

2. Health Reasons
Being exposed to a lot of mold or chemicals, or even eating a lot of the wrong foods can cause depression in some people. In thoses cases, you need to determine the cause, take the appropriate supplements to treat it for a little while, and do you best to avoid that trigger in the future.

3. Chemical Imbalances
Sometimes improving you overall health can fix this. But for some people anti-depressents are the only way to go.

And Marluxia, if you've seriously considered suicide you really should talk to your parents. It's almost also better to be open and honest with your family, no matter what the situation.

'Lo, peeps. One of the requirements of the medication I'm currently on is to get a blood sample taken once a year. I had to do that this morning, and suffice to say the experience blew chunks for multiple reasons:

- I had to fast for 12 hours before they took my blood.
- I only slept for 4 hours the night before, so I was hungry and exhausted.
- The amount of blood actually taken was relatively small; despite this, afterwards I felt nauseous, lightheaded, had no strength in my fingertips, and apparently looked so pale that the clinic refused to let me leave for several minutes.

So, yeah. Considering the way my body reacted to losing few millilitres of hemoglobin, I seriously doubt I'll ever be able to give the 8-10% of my total blood volume required for donations without going into shock and/or passing out in a room full of doctors.

GAH I TOTALLY DID A PROJECT ON THAT SHOW I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! We're waiting for the chirp, chirp, chirp of an incubating egg... Favourite song would have to be But, Mr. Adams or Molasses to Rum (songs on total opposite ends of the spectrum...). Oh, and He Plays the Violin. SUCH A GOOD SHOW. I could probably tell you all of the historical accuracies/inaccuracies in the entire show :P

SO band camp is over! Today was fun, we went to the beach, and that was a blast! Waves weren't as exciting as last year, but they were still fairly large, which is good. After that, I had a pre-school-year ice cream party with the girls in my troop... I was always pretty different from most of them, but our differences seem to have gotten even bigger over the summer. Half of them turned into total party girls, and they kept talking about how drunk they got this summer and all the guys they hooked up with. I've had about five sips of alcohol in my life and I've hated it every time (coincidentally, I tried beer for the first time today after my father insisted that it was "really good", oddly enough). Hm.

Moi,

Yay! Not many of my friends like musicals, so I don't really get to break into song as much as I want to. God knows the temperature's hot enough to hatch a stone, let alone an egg. My favorite songs would probably be But, Mr. Adams, The Egg, The Lees of Old Virginia, He Plays The Violin, and Sit Down, John. Someone oughta open up a window! / No, no, no! Too many flies! Too many flies! (It's really hard for me to just pick one I like best.)

Ugh. I've tried many alcoholic beverages, but I've never found one that I haven't seriously disliked.

Hi!

I'm currently on my mini family vacation as of now, and I'm accessing PVF through the hotel's computer. This week has been strange, but okay. I just wish I didn't have so much AP homework over Labor Day weekend. *sigh*

Peace out!

Hi! I also don't really like the taste of alcohol of any kind. The best I've ever had is umeshu (Japanese plum wine) and even then it's not something I'd drink if anything non-alcoholic was available. Supposedly alcohol is an acquired taste and I can kind of see of that (from the little bits I've had here and there over the years I've moved from "can't stand it" to "don't really like it"). But why would I want to drink enough to get to the point where I like it? Especially considering how much it costs?

Anyway, I went to Typhoon Lagoon today. It was pretty cool. Write-up and photos coming in Monday's PV news post.
