It's not unusual for you to find it difficult to talk to her Cheeze, It's the same with most people, the average person generally don't to someone they've gone out with or been turned down by, or even someone who they've turned down. It's quite natural to feel awkward around someone you've had a relationship that hasn't turned out the 'right way' whichever that way is.
It also depends on the people involved. Sometimes you can stay friends with a crush or ex, or sometimes you never really talk again. And sometimes it just takes a little while before you can go back to being friends, if you want to that is.

I do have to agree with Kaida on this. One thing I have to say, Cheez, rejection is normal. Like Kaida said, you can always remain friends even after you try asking.
