My thoughts on DRRR exactly... I can't really follow it at all. So many characters thrown at you all at once, a bunch of weird stuff going on that they don't explain at all... I'm sure it'll come together eventually but... eh. For right now, I'm just watching for Celty.

And yet I think Baccano (which was written by the same author, directed by the same director, animated by the same studio, and is essentially the same series but in a different setting) is fantastic. What? Maybe it's the pacing. Baccano is 16 episodes and moves pretty fast. DRRR is almost twice as long and they're kinda taking their time. Anyways, Colly and I have been watching Baccano and loving it. The whole thing's up on Hulu if anyone's interested, you even have your choice of dub or sub.

I might give Hulu and/or Netflicks a go at some point. Or maybe Cruncy Roll... Though, at the moment, I'm not really hurting for stuff to watch. Aside from three more Sailor Moon series, I've got Rune Soldier, Gokudo, Raxephon, Milky Holmes, and Asura Cryin'. Gokudo I saw once a long time ago but it's cool and now I've got my own copy of the DVDs so I'm gonna rewatch it. Milky Holmes and Raxephon just sound cool. And Asura Cryin'... I actually know absolutely nothing about it other than that it's unliscensed (so I torrented the fansub) the second season's theme song is done by one of my favorite J-Pop singers.

Ugh, Crunchy Roll. No, no don't do that. Especially not a paid account, that's pure stupidity since they give everything out for free after a while anyway. Personally I hate even giving them add money, so I download any anime they license from one of the various Crunchysub Rip groups... Anyways. Main reasons why I hate them. First, they're jerks about licenses. They grab up like twelve anime, first thing, every season, before any other group has a chance to get them. They don't dub, they don't release DVDs, just stupid streams. AND they don't ever try to partner up with anyone that DOES dub and release DVDS. Point in case, PSG. They snatched it, Adult Swim wanted it (because it was directly inspired by and probably made for Adult Swim) but Crunchy wouldn't let them have it. Mojojojo's voice actor even said he wanted to be in it... but that seems unlikely because Crunchy won't share. Second... they don't even edit well! Point in case is Nichijou. For a certain line, granted an oddly worded pun, they had no idea how to translate it. So what did they put in the subtitles? A question mark. Nothing else. Just this: "?" ...And they charged money for that subtitling work. What? No. That isn't ok. And yet fansub groups could translate it easily. Yeah...

I'd rather have Horrible Subs than watch anything by Crunchy Roll. No, really. They're really Horrible.

Hulu's wonderful and I love it, Netflix is cool but they barely offer anything good streamed. It's all about the DVD business there, which is kind of inconvenient.

That sucks about Crunchy Roll. I was thinking about going with them because they have the licenses for a bunch of shows I want to see (like PSG) but now I might just go your route, much as I don't like torrenting licensed shows.

Does Hulu have a lot of anime? I thought it was mostly network shows... Anyway, I'll probably try Netflix before too long (free 30 day trial and all) and maybe Hulu too. And now I need to stop since my plane is leaving soon and my phone's auto correct is getting annoying.

Hahahaha, when was the last time you went to Hulu? Back in the day they had a tiny library of stuff that FUNi put up there out of generosity, I'm sure... But well... Now I can't think of much they don't have.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but it is a pretty impressive selection. And they have PS3 integration too... Do they just have dubbed versions or do they have the subs too?

Depends on the title. Most are sub only, but there are a few that are both, and some that are dub only.

For example, Yu-Gi-Oh and Rurouni Kenshin they only have dubbed. Naruto and Hetalia they only have subbed. Soul Eater, FMA, School Rumble, and Trigun they have both.

But looking through, it isn't so much that most series are sub only. It actually seems to depend on the studio... FUNi series, for the most part, are available either way. Viz mostly puts them up sub only. For anyone else, it's pretty random, but Bandai's Gurren Lagann and Geneon's Moribito are both dub only.

Please pay attention to the rest of the conversation. I never said it wasn't dubbed. I said that, if you want to watch it on Hulu, they only have the subtitled version. Did you notice that the other example I mentioned there was Naruto, which, as everyone knows, has been dubbed for ages? I mentioned Hetlia as an example specifically because the dub is available streamed legally right here. Which, by the way, renders any youtube channel that isn't FUNimation's official channel to be useless and illegal.

Did a bit more research on Hulu. Annoyingly, it doesn't have a lot of the American shows I'd like to watch, which Netflix does (either streaming or on DVD). Makes it a bit tougher of a choice...

Hulu's free. Well... most of it is, anyway. There's Hulu Plus, which has some cool stuff, but a good majority of Hulu's content can be accessed for free. You may need to create an account to verify that you're 18 or older, that's all. You can use the free parts of Hulu and still have a Netflix account without running your wallet down.

And by the way... Netflix accounts can be shared. That is, you can sync one account with multiple game consoles and watch off of more than one device at the same time. I think they'll even ship DVDs to more than one address, but I'm not sure. Really, the best way to use Netflix is to share it with a few friends or your whole family and have everyone put a bit of money into it. Just don't use the same password as you use for your e-mail address, yeah? And also don't watch anything that you don't want them to know you've watched. They'll see it in the history and all.

I don't need Hulu Plus to watch old seasons of anime? That'd be a huge plus...

My brother has a Netflix account and offered to let me give it a try. I just wasn't sure if that'd work since he's in Texas and I'm in Arizona (and soon to be moving to Florida).
