Up and Comming
Re: Up and Comming
My current must buy list (some of these have been out for a month or two but I haven't gotten them yet because I'm in Japan):
Pokémon B/W (have a copy waiting in the US)
Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded (ditto)
Final Fantasy Dissidia Duo Decim
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
Ghost Trick
Radiant Historia
Miles Edgeworth 2 (needs a US release date)
Professor Layton 4 (ditto)
Then there's the 3DS... Nothing in the launch line-up has me too excited though so I'm not in a huge rush, but I'll certainly get it sometime this spring.

Those new OoT pics look awesome, Cheez!
I need to get Batman: Arkham City... It's coming out 2011, and after the awesome Arkham Asylum, this next game should be even more epic.

Re: Up and Comming
Placed my pre-order for Portal 2 Last week; I may get Crysis 2 as well if I have enough money left over.

Re: Up and Comming
I wasn't going to pre-order Portal 2 (though I did plan on getting it eventually), but Best Buy had it for $5 off plus you got 500 Reward Points for pre-ordering (which can be redeemed for a $10 gift card) so I ended up pre-ordering it. Then Best Buy added another bonus, an actual $10 gift card to everyone who pre-ordered it. Plus the purchase price will get me enough Reward Zone points to boost my total to the point where I'll have enough for another $15 of gift certificates. So basically, I'm getting a $60 game for $55 plus $35 worth of gift certificates for a future purchase. Total cost of Portal 2: $20. Might be a couple weeks before I have time to play it though.
Re: Up and Comming
Probably not quite the right thread for this, but I thought I'd let everyone know that Telltale Games is currently running a big sale. Nearly everything is 75% off.

E3 discussion? E3 discussion!
So what is everyone thinking so far? Nintendo impressed me a bit more than I expected, but I still don't care that much for the Wii U at the moment.

Re: Up and Comming
I'm actually holding off on going through all the game previews until the end, since they just keep getting updated throughout the week so its easier to look when I know they're all completely up to date. That said, the list of upcoming 3DS is looking pretty nice (Mario, Smash, Mario Kart, etc). The Wii U... I don't know. It's an interesting idea and hey, it'll certainly have some good games. But I'll really need to see one myself before I can make a call on the hardware. At the moment, the controller looks rather bulky and, for most games, that screen probably won't be needed.
Then there's the Vita. Which, as far as I'm concerned, is basically a more powerful PSP. That's nice, and I'll get it as long as there are some games I want (which it's looking like their will be). The dual touch controls don't interest me much right now though, once again, I'll reserve judgement until I get the chance to play it myself. All the connectivity and internet features...really don't interest me much.

Re: Up and Comming
Okay, E3...
- Far Cry 3 definitely caught my attention. It also reminded me that I still need to play the first game.
- Bioshock: Infinite and Uncharted 3 still look cool.
- The Wii U currently has my undivided indifference.
- Figures, more Halo. I would have been more impressed with if they'd announced a Windows port of Halo 2 that didn't suck.
- Speaking of Windows, I'm getting irritated with Microsoft's continued apathy towards PC gaming.
- Why can't I get a copy of Ocarina of Time for the regular DS?
- I hope the developers of Modern Warfare 3 realize that the campaign for Black Ops was as shallow and unrewarding as a Micheal Bay movie. And that the bloody Viet Cong didn't have bloody SPAS-12's in bloody 1968.
- If Fallout 3 was Oblivion with guns, then I hope Skyrim is New Vegas with swords and magic.
- Mass Effect 3 has a female Krogan. Finally!
...aaand that's what I thought.

Re: Up and Comming
Ooh, Donkey Kong for Gameboy Color is on the 3DS virtual console! I still have my old cartridge, so I suppose I don't need another copy, but it's an awesome game.
Re: Up and Comming
Double post but anyway...
JList has started selling physical copies of some Manga Gamer games (they currently have Higurashi, Higurashi Kai, Kira Kira All Ages, Da Capo, and Da Capo 2). On the bright side, they're physical copies instead of download only and JList is selling them for a decent bit cheaper than Manga Gamer. Too bad I already own all of them (except Da Capo 2)... But if you don't, this is a good time to pick them up. Plus it should get Manga Gamer some much needed publicity (they don't really advertise for some reason).

Re: Up and Comming
If I don't run into MangaGamer at Otakon, I'll definitely be purchasing HiguKai from them on JList.
Honestly, this surprises me. Will JAST and MangaGamer soon merge?

Re: Up and Comming
I have my doubts, since they're based in two completely different locations, though it might be nice if they did. Seems more likely that they'll just partnet together for disc based releases though. I've been wondering more whether or not JList will eventually offer the entire Manga Gamer catalogue or if they're sticking with the "greatest hits" type line up.

Re: Up and Comming
FUNimation and Viz have teamed up in the past, namely in that Viz has added their library to the FUNimation channel. Why? Because it's a struggling business and they don't want to go under. If they don't work together, they'll end up killing each other and neither group wants that. That doesn't mean they're going to merge... in this case, because the fusion of the two would more or less become a monopoly on this market. But it makes sense for them to work together... Manga Gamer's based in Europe, so it's inconvenient for them to ship out to the US I would assume. Jast's entire business is based shipping thing around the US, so this is no big deal for them and they both make money off of it.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.
