((Okay, I could give you a long laundry list of reasons why I wasn't able to even work on this post until Friday, but that wouldn't change anything :P. Well, here goes.))

You decide that you're through with running.

It's time...to have a Pokemon battle!



Go! (Fake) Golden Magikarp!





Uh...it doesn't seem to be doing much. It's kind of just flailing on the ground.

You realize you were probably right the first time and continue running away.

Because your dad works on the S.S. Anne, you've become privy to some of the areas usually off-limits to normal passengers. You easily find your way to the engine room, losing the (Fake) Golden Magikarp Salesman along the way. With the dim lighting and all the engine stuff, he'll never find you in here!



Speaking of fake golden magikarps, you realize that in all the commotion after "obtaining" it you didn't get the chance to give it a name. Give a nickname to Magikarp?

That Pokeball throw animation is fantastic. Just so you know.

Oh, but don't call the Magikarp all that, it wouldn't fit in the name space.

The Magikarp's name should be Mewtwo.

Hmm... I kind of like the name Ditto. Or Zorua... Or would that be too misleading?

Actually, call it Kitty. As long as we're being species confused.

(And those animations are full of love and win, just so you know.)

A number of great names come to your mind: Mewtwo, Kitty, Goldilocks, Pokéball. But you just don't know which to choose.

You seek out the help of the Magikarp's Pokémon Info.



Hm. Well it's a male, and it's got the quirkiness to match each of your names. Basic Magikarp stuff otherwise. Swift Swim ability, Tackle and Splash attacks, the whole nine yards...You don't know if you should even consider such a distance as nine yards to describe it's fairly limited qualities. Maybe three feet...or two inches.

Anyway, which name should it be?

(TRAINER TIPS: In order to get across the name you want, you can simply vote for it or produce an argument for it. Anything goes. You can also side with other people's names. I didn't want to make the decision entirely up to me, so I thought this way you guys would get more input than just a suggestion.)

Pokéball is a great name because you can just shout "Pokéball go!" to keep everyone off guard.

I'll name it Pikachu, and will most likely vote this name for all Pokemon captured in the future.

I actually like the name Kitty quite a lot, assuming that someday this thing will evolve. Then it'll be Kitty the Gyarados!

Yeah, I can imagine the scoffs from other trainers turning into horrified looks when Kitty is a twenty one foot, over five hundred pound dragon with what appears to be the opposite of lockjaw. It'd be better yet if we can get a bucket of that gold paint.

Sorry, but my vote is still Kitty.

Looks like it's not just any caterpie, it's that bug catcher kid's. Well, you may have gotten away from the (Fake) Golden Magikarp Salesman, but now this kid's caught up to you. You just can't catch a break today.

Apparently he's still mad about you stealing his hat. Kid sure can hold a grudge. That was like, what, two whole hours ago?

Anyway, looks he wants it back. But he's not just going to take it from you. He wants to settle this the right way: with a pokemon battle.
