Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey.
Back from the undergrad awards! New personal record in the amount of awards I snagged this year!
-Excellence in Band (total joke, like half the class got it)
-Excellence in Drama (again, total joke, same reason)
-Excellence in AP Statistics (Now THAT was an achievement. I was the only one my teach gave the award out of her two classes. My friend who has the other teacher got one, too, and we were excited by the fact that we were both white kids up for an excellence in math award... so, when we got on stage, we high fived. Apparently, people laughed, but we didn't notice :P )
And then, they have these special things called "book awards" which are books given to students from certain colleges (Yale and Harvard being two prominant ones). These ones are more dramatic, as they read stuff about the person (which we have NO IDEA how they learned) before announcing the name... well, when the pronoun "she" was used, and then the guy mentioned Destination Imagination, pretty much everyone looked over to me. Got the St. Michael's book award! Never heard of the place, but it was still awesome, because not too many kids got those... maybe 10-15, ish, or so. My award also came with a folder that offered anywhere between $5000-full ride scolarship if I go there... too bad it's A. Liberal arts and B. Religiously affiliated. However.... the book WAS wrapped in shiny purple paper.... hmmmmmm...

I don't really know how this Pony hype spread like this, but, well, you just can't resist it. I'd like to say it's something different... but it isn't. It's actually something exactly the same. Exactly the same, as, say, classic Looney Tunes. Created by someone who worked on the Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. The characters just happen to be ponies - but no matter what you do, you just can't bring yourself to hate them. I... actually would advise checking it out. Skip the pilot, start on episode 3 (pilot being two parts), Menlo has the whole series up on Youtube.
And that's that.
And that's that.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Hey, none of those are inherently a bad thing. I go to Rhodes College, a presbyterian liberal arts school, and it is one of the best places I have ever been. With that award you got, money won't be an issue when considering that college.Saber Knight wrote:Got the St. Michael's book award! Anyway, Silver, I must confess that I am a fellow Brony. And I have nothing to be ashamed about.

Hey
However, I'm neither Roman Catholic, nor interested in liberal arts :P By no means have I settled down on a major, but the fields I'm interested in are engineering, comp sci and chemistry... though that could change at any moment :PGiga-Gar wrote:Hey, none of those are inherently a bad thing. Hi! My Little Pony? I don't know... Besides, I've got a lot of stuff to watch right now, such as the rest of Sailor Moon. Which, admittedly, isn't all that much lower on the list of embarressing things for a guy my age to watch...

Here's the thing. Most of the MLP fanbase... is adult men. It airs on the hub, which is a new and pretty obscure channel as far as most little girls are concerned. The internet (read: 4chan) is where it spread, and well, that's mostly adult men. That's why we've got the term "bronies" floating around.

Hi! I am part of the minority of the fanbase. Little Girls barely watch it at all. I know one other girl in my school who isn't a family member and watches it, but that's only because I told her to. When I was talking to little kids about it one time they pushed it aside and said that it sounded stupid only they didn't say stupid. But it is rather amusing how the creator of My Little Pony is on deviantart and I've read through some of the comments and checked the accounts, and none of them are children, not that they are allowed on deviantart anyways but still; my point is is that MLP: Friendship is MAgic is the Manliest show ever. It's Manly Fancy-- *bricked*
Which is to say: Hey! I'm alive! School's over in a week and-- it's boring. *sigh* It's not as exciting as it was when I was a second-grader.

Due to a certain Neopets filter for Twilight a while back, I can never see My Little Pony and not start laughing. >_> No offense to the actual series. It was just a hilarious filter. "WILL YOU ALL STOP TALKING ABOUT MY LITTLE PONY THIS IS A My Little Pony ROLEPLAY!!"
Ahem.
Konbanwa. Been in a drawing mood lately, but at the same time I'm feeling rather uninspired. Kind of frustrating...

Oi. Admittedly, I watched Friendship is Magic too. I started when there were 16 episodes still. One of our groups back at campus is split between the people who love it, and the people who hate it because there's been such an obsession over it. I really don't know how it got such a ridiculous following, but it is good. And the pilot does kind of stink.
Hmm... This signature just got really short...

I know where you guys are coming from; my best friend is a brony. From what I've seen it actually looks pretty good for a kids show. Like Adventure Time. Or Johnny Bravo. Or Avatar: The Last Airbender (although obviously with less genocide).
Anyways, my computerbox is no longer a zombie (Yaaaay)! Turns out all it needed was a new CPU. Still set me back $70, but that's way less than I originally expected to pay. The point is that I once again have a functioning PC.

Moi!
Blah, I've been away quite a bit. I've been studying for finals/regents. The entire week, 13th-17th will be final after regents after final. After that, It'll be summer vacation! (and my birthday on the 24th, so I'm also happy about that!)
Anyway, just relaxing now, and maybe I'll be studying a bit for my Social studies and English finals later.

Hi! I'm back from the Weird Al concert in Tucson! It pretty close to the concert of his I went to last year, but fun.
Did I mention that I'm going to Alabama later this week? Flying in Wednesday for a job interview on Thursday and then flying back Thursday night. Gonna be a busy week...

Ah, Alabama. Did you know that their state bird is the NASCAR? Anyway, have fun down south!
