That's a possibility, but what would that make him? How did he get here?

Sira continued to watch the shark as it swam about. While she was watching, something in the distance caught her eye. She couldn't make out what it was, but it was moving.
Another shark, maybe? She thought.
As she continued to look at it, she realized whatever it was, it was coming in her direction, and fast. A little too fast for her liking. Maybe an animal in distress? She kept her distance, the shape growing as it neared her.
And suddenly, Sira saw what it was. It was a shark, much larger than the one she'd been following. And what's worse, there was more. There were two others of equally intimidating size, one on either side of it. They followed slightly behind the middle one, forming a sort of arrow. These sharks weren't just swimming, their path was diliberate. They were heading for her.
The realization hit her abruptly, and a wave of terror shot through her body. She couldn't take on all three at the same time, not sharks of that size. She didn't want the sharks themselves to get hurt, either.
Sira shot back up to the surface, still taking care to avoid too much movement, so as to not provoke the idle shark. She yelled hurriedly at the Saber Knights above her.
Pull me up pull me up!

Here! Haddix shot his web at Sira, pulling her up and swinging her onto the beach. He then pulled himself to the beach and prepared to pull out his saber. (I have a design for my sword.Image There it is. The sprite is fairly basic, but still. First custom made sprite (I don't count splices), WOO! The handles can interlock, and the blade connects at the top left. Is that Saber ok? I would have put it in the OOC, but that would constitute a double post.)

A little annoyed at how quickly the mission was aborted, and not totally sure why, Nyandimar hovered back to shore.

(I think double posts in OOC threads are okay? I seem to recall a few double posts in various OOC threads...)

Azriel raised an eyebrow at the returning Saber Knights. "Uh, welcome back?" he asked uncertainly. "Did something happen?" After a moment, he added, "Actually, that was a stupid question. Let me rephrase. What happened?" He reached for the hilt of his own Saber, wondering what he would do if they ended up in another fight. Stay out of the water and hope everyone else does too? he thought sarcastically.

(Dunno if you can think sarcastically, but he did it. D< )

(How far can you shoot a web, BFC?)

Sira let a sigh of relief as she landed on the beach. She had to admit though, she was a little bit startled by how she had got there. Um, thank you, Haddix. She said. Then she turned to face the others.
The sharks...There were more of them. And these ones weren't as friendly. I think...they were deliberately coming after me. They were huge, too. I didn't want to get them hurt, but I wasn't going to let myself get hurt either. I don't think I could have taken them all on anyway. They were coming towards me so fast. Looking out at the water, she noticed three fins had protruded the water's surface. She pointed out towards them. There. There they are...but now there's more. Two more sharks had joined the group, again one on each side.

Their movement had been considerably slowed, as if they were unsure of what to do. Then, the lead shark actually poked its head out of the water. Sira's face made it apparent she thought this was completely absurd. What? Is it actually looking? Can it-
But the shark went back in the water. And not a second later, all three began moving, at all speed, towards the shore.
Sira was shocked. She didn't know what to do. Should they kill the sharks? She didn't want to. From what she'd heard, that had been happening too much as of recently. Any more might upset the ecosystem. If they hurt them enough, would they leave? Or would they keep at it? She hoped to Rah it was the former.
She flipped her spear around and held it at ready. They're coming for us. Try not to kill them, only if you must. She hated saying those last words.

((Whoa, just when I was thinking that it was too early for me to post again...))

"Oh no," Vegier groaned softly when the shock of seeing everyone back so soon wore off. He swung his brandistock in a downward arc, letting the three blades hidden inside the shaft slide out with a "click!" Gripping the spear tightly in both hands, he spread his legs out a little more to balance himself better, keeping the blades of his weapon pointed down as he did so.
"I'm afraid it looks like we'll have to," he noted grimly to Sira. "Unless we can find a way to negotiate with them, which doesn't seem likely." He glanced back out at the water, paling again when he saw just how swift the creatures were.
"Please tell me they're slow on land," he whispered, trying not to sound too pleading.

Not having quite the air speed of a slung web, Nyandimar was about two thirds of the way back before he noticed everyone readying their Sabers. Turning around, he saw the sharks, heading towards him.
((And because I don't know the exact nature of the sharks, I'll leave the next part to Sira.))

When Sira arrived back on the beach, Eskay was considerably worried. Before she could react, the sharks were swimming over, which changed her considerable worry into monumentous worry quite fast.

Eskay didn't want to kill them. Especially of what Sira was saying. They weren't supposed to be the bad guys, why was this happening? At the same time, though, Eskay knew she would defend her friends if it came down to it... She knew she would fight. Her Ice Katana was in her hand, and she was ready to fight. However, the first thought in her mind was not to kill, and killing was something she would try and avoid at all costs.

But she would kill if it meant protecting her friends.

So is the burden of a Saber Knight...

From above, a crow watched the scene play out. Before anyone could question why there was a crow in the desert, it swooped away and vanished from sight.

((FYI, I didn't forget about our friends Seraphina and Epifanio, they'll be comin' back eventually :P ))

Sira braced herself for the oncoming attack, hoping that the battle didn't end in carnage, for either side.

Suddenly, one of the sharks broke off from the pack. The remaining four continued to head towards the shore. But the other shark was heading straight towards Nyandimar.

Nyandimar, watch out! She shouted.

The shark jumped out of the water, straight towards him.

(I leave for one day, look what happens. Haddix can shoot webs really far. His lower half is a giant black widow. Plus, he can fly.)
Nyandimar, heads up! Haddix shot a web at Nyandimar, pulling him to shore. He then pulled out his Sabers, preparing to fight.

Marina slashed at the sharks with her claws, her focus entirely on the battle, she kicked and punched, not even thinking about using her saber, her animal inctincts slowly taking over as she fought more and more sharks.
SKROOOOAAAAARRRRRR! she screamed and continued to fight.

The shark clamped its mighty jaws down right where Nyandimar had once been, then fell into the water with ahuge splash. Without hesitation, the fin changed course for the shore.

Two more sharks had broken off and were fighting Marina, who attacked from the air. So that leaves two. I think. Sira thought.

At last, the shadows of the last two sharks came to a rest near the shore. But they did not go any further. They needed time for their legs to form.

But Sira didn't have to wait for that.
I'll take on one, you guys get the other! Whatever you do don't go in the water! Aim for the nose! She shouted. She charged at the rightmost shark, blunt side of her spear in hand.
Raaaghh!
With as much force as she could muster, she brought the stone down on the shark's nose. Swinging up her spear, she brought it down again. As the shark lay in a daze she jumped back, so as to not be suseptible to the other shark. But it wasn't planning on attacking her. Having formed its legs, it now went running after the other Saber Knights. The one that had jumped after Nyandimar was fast making its way to shore. It was almost there.

With only the slightest hesitation, Eskay charged into battle. An idea formulated in her mind as she did so. Without even wondering how she did this, Eskay caused the Ice Katana to coat itself in a layer of ice that was nearly an inch thick. She swung her now-blunted weapon at the other shark. However, her aim was slightly off, her not being used to the new weight, and she struck it in the side instead of the nose. Leaving her no time to make a second attempt, the shark snapped its jaws at her. Eskay was only narrowly able to avoid having her hand bit off.

"Shoot..." she grumbled to herself, looking for another opening. She found it when the shark looked over to one of the other Knights, and she quickly lunged, this time making sure to account for the extra weight. Her blade hit the mark, and the shark stumbled backwards. Not about to waste the opportunity, Eskay struck again. The shark was sent sprawling backwards. Noting she had some time, Eskay quickly looked around to see if anyone else needed help.

The shark that had attacked Nyandimar had now made its way to shore. Its legs fully developed, it jumped out onto the land. As she landed another blow to her shark's nose, she watched the new shark. She expected it to attack the Saber Knights not in combat, as it was closest to them. But instead, it went after Eskay, who was already in a struggle with a shark. This isn't right. I know sharks are intelligent, but...

Eskay! Watch-
She hadn't been paying attention. Her own shark had reared up, jaws ready to sink its teeth into her arm. She swung her spear, so as to whack it across the face, but the weight of the shark was too heavy. She only managed to push it to the side. But as it fell, its teeth met a stray patch of her hair, and it bit down. Sira was taken by surprise and yelped in pain as she felt the weight of the shark pull her down. Auuugh! Flipping her spear around, she used her blade to cut herself free, and landed a strong blow on the shark. But she missed the nose, hitting it in the eye instead.
