Games I've Played Recently
Re: Games I've Played Recently
When I get back home to my PS3 it'll be all FFXIII but I played Disgaea for a while on the plane to CA and, if I have some time to kill while on this trip, I'd like to finish the last episode of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People and maybe start on the first Higurashi answer arc.
Re: Games I've Played Recently
Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising! I started playing the minute I saw it pop up on Steam
It's so good... two new heroes for The Last Stand co-op mode, a new campaign to play through, and of course the Chaos army (with 3 Chaos heroes) for skirmishes!

Rania - Female; Type: Water, Grass; Abilities: Torrent, Overgrow; Attacks: Tackle, Curse, Razor Leaf, Bubble W/L = 5/0
Karst - Male; Type: Normal; Abilities: Keen Eye, Guts; Attacks: Tail Whip, Scratch, Defense Curl W/L = 2/0- Doodleshark

Re: Games I've Played Recently
My main focus right now is on the awesome Final Fantasy XIII. I'm also still trying to finish Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness when I don't have my PS3 handy. I've also started the first answer arc in Higurashi (though I'm not sure it really qualifies as a game) and I played just enough of Heart Gold to start using the Pokéwalker. The rest of HG can wait until I'm done with Disgaea. I've also been playing some Buzz! Quiz World with friends, just for a fun multiplayer game.
Re: Games I've Played Recently
I finished the first Higurashi Kai arc last week. For those of you who care (probably just Silver and Colly) I'd like to inform you that while I still think it's a bit overpriced for a single arc, Manga Gamer appears to have gotten the message about proper editing. I only spotted a several several typos throughout the entire thing. Of course, ideally there shouldn't be any typos, but quite a lot of professionally edited stuff still has one or two errors somewhere, and it's certainly a huge improvement over the question arcs, so I won't complain. I'm glad that MG is finally getting their act together in the editing department. Other than that, the translation was still good and the arc did a good job answer it's own specific mysteries...while not doing much of anything to explain the key mysteries pervading the series (other than discrediting one possible explanation). So, while I can't say that I'm happy about the pricing, the improved editing is great and I'll definately be picking up the rest of the arcs so I can finally find out what the heck the going on (I've got some theories that explain parts of Satoko and Rika's arcs, but that's about it).
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy XIII (and I don't plan to stop until I've both beaten and platinumed it)
Disgaea (I've been half way finished with it for ages and want to get it done before playing any other portable games (with the possible exception of KH 358/2))
Wallace and Grommit's Grand Adventures (my PC game of choice until either I finish it, the first chapter of Sam & Max season 3 is released, or the next Higurashi Kai arc is released)

I'd love to hear them. While I do know the answers to everything by now, I like discussing them with an open and clear mind. I do it plenty of times when talking about When They Cry with Silver (both Higurashi and Umineko).Josiah wrote:(I've got some theories that explain parts of Satoko and Rika's arcs, but that's about it).
Go ahead and take a good stab.
Enjoy the next chapter. Meakashi-hen at least gives you the doubt of Oyashiro-sama's curse, so you now can check that one off your list if you didn't before reading it. Tsumihoroboshi-hen doesn't answer as much as Meakashi-hen did, but it definitely gets you to rethink some of your theories.

So as to not fill this thread with spoilers, I'll make a new one for Higurashi discussion.
Re: Games I've Played Recently
I played me the Pokemon Heart Gold! It's real good, I've never played G/S/C before, and I think I got over my fear of Beedrills. Here's my team!
Piloswine
Thyphlosion
Kingler
Yanmega
Ampharos
Hypno
-Kanto is pretty nice. I love seeing how it's changed from LG.
-Yanmega is very, very good.
-I have 3 stars on my card. I don't know why, but it means I've accomplished lots of stuffs.

I'm note sure about HG/SS but in previous games the stars are usually awarded for: beating the Elite 4, completing the pokédex, winning a high ranked contest, getting a very good streak in the battle tower, and doing real well in one of the mini-games.
As for me, I'm doing all the optional stuff in FFXIII right now. Took a short break to play through the first chapter of Sam & Max season 3 though.

Tango was playing her Platinum, so I started playing Pearl again. Basically, just been breeding Pokemon and running around underground with Tango and stealing her flag (I win every time, she always falls for my well-placed traps >:D )
Oh, and since I'm at my Grandpa's house in Viriginia, I get to play Super Mario Bros on the NES :D :D :D :D

May the Triforce be with you.

Re: Games I've Played Recently
I've been playing DDO for a couple weeks. I'm taking a break of substantial size, though. I did one dungeon, The Pit, which was full of very difficult puzzles and was very frustrating. It took about 6 hours or so. Might have gone better if I went with more than just 1 other person, but yeah...

Got Borderlands a couple weeks ago while it was on sale on Steam. Also finished Bioshock 2.

Re: Games I've Played Recently
Platinumed FFXIII last night! My goal now is to get through God of War III and try to finish Final Fantasy IV After Years and Disagea before Super Mario Galaxy 2. If I could work in Mega Man 10 as well, that'd be awesome, but it probably won't happen. I'm also slowly working my way through the second answer arc in Higurashi.
Re: Games I've Played Recently
Meh. 9 was a lot easier than Mega Man Zero and Mega Man & Bass, so I probably won't have too much trouble.
Started God of War III. So far it's cool...but feels just like a prettier version of God of War II, which was basically a level pack for God of War... Chains of Olympus played the same too. On the one hand, I kinda admire the consistency, especially in regards to how Kratos keeps most of his gear and powers throughout the story (until he loses it for other story reasons, of course), On the other hand, I wish they'd change things up just a bit more with each game. I mean, I'm still using mostly the same skills and combos as I did in the first game. Not to mention that Kratos quickly ended up in Hades...again. I mean seriously, I'll grant that Hades makes for a good dungeon, but does Kratos have to end up there in every single GoW game?
