xkcd is, um, rather hard to describe. But it's a comic and it's funny. It's probably a PG-13 rating though for some language and adult situations. You use the link to start at the beginning but as there's no real plot and a fair chunk of the earlier stuff is nothing but doodles, you may want to jump ahead 50 or 60 pages and then start. Or you could awalys look at or rapidly skip past the doodles.
Plot: There's no real plot to speak of. It's mostly one-shot gag strips. There's the occasional recurring character and a few sets of several strips in a row, but it's mostly random humor. Topics vary considerably but common ones include romance, science, and math.
Art: Stick figures mostly. You definately read this for the humor, not the art.
Things to Know: If you hold your mouse over each strip for a second, the little info pop-up contains an often witty comment from the author.
Favorite Strips: When you want to really impress someone this is totally the thing to do. I should really print a copy of this one for my parents. If you've spent any sort of significant time using Windows, you'll like this one. And this is just plain funny.

There is an unspoken rule that Engineers much have read so many of these to get in. Not really, but there should be. Needless to say, I follow this regularly (and was surprised to see this on because there are at least two very NSFW comics in it).

hmmm, this is a pretty good comic so far. I'll keep reading it when I get home today.

Heh, yeah, friend from MIT came home with the MIT newspaper to show me a comic strip... her brother was reading the strip, then glanced at the facing page and was like "what's.... kuhsud?" and she was like "oh, it's xkcd, and it's nerdy win." and I was like "YAY!" and she was like "YAY!" and then we danced.

Or something like that.

Anywho, good comic. Funny stuff.

Since I am a person that completely fails at math, let's just say I didn't understand some comics. But that's not to say I didn't like xkcd. The ones I did understand were great. And the math ones that I understood made me feel smart .

Now for some of my favorite strips.

This one is genius and I love it.

This one put a very amusing spin on things.

And this one just made me lol.

Some stips I found amusing while others I lol'd at and some I just went "moving on."

However this one gets special mention just for the Lion King referance.
