Poke'mon Help
Re: Poke'mon Help
First you go and buy a GBA Gameshark or ProAction Replay and read the manual.
I can't say how the Gameshark works, but the PAR plugs into your GBA and then you plug the game into it. If needed, you can then plug the entire thing into your computer to download different cheats to the PAR or to backup saved GBA games to your PC.

Re: Poke'mon Help
Well, you can plug the AR or w/e into your computer and get the codes that way, or you can manually enter them, like I have to. My stupid AR (DS light) wont connect to my laptop, or any other computer I use! I thought it might be the cable, so I went and got my old one (I had another AR, the first I lost >>) and it didn't work either, then my DSL broke and the AR wont even work with my DSi, so I have to spend another $20 to get a DSi AR >> anyways, here is what I need help with in pokemon:
EV's!!!
It's soooo confusing!!!! @.@ and don't tell me to read a guide on it, they make no sense to me at all ugh...

Re: Poke'mon Help
Now, listen closely, y'hear?
Every time you beat up of them little critters, you get this humdingers of a thing called EVs. Each critter gives out diff'rent kinds of EVs, speed, attack, special attack, de-fence and special de-fence.For example, those little bugg critters ya city folk call "kricketot" give a point of de-fence EV. Critters can give you muliple EVs (up to three, y'hear?), and some might just be kind enough to give you EVs in twoo or more different stats! Little critters only give out small EVs, but big critters give out more. Every four of these little things ya get, ya got yourself 1 point increase in that there stat! Ya can have up to...*counts on all fingers*...twoo hondred and fivety-five EVs in each of them stats, and five hondred and ten all up. Once you've done and got yourself five hondred and ten EVs, that's all the EV trainin' your little critter can do.
That there's pretty much all the basics for EVing you little critter. You got that now, y'all?

Re: Poke'mon Help
Ok... since the Pokemon Ranch thread is closed and I'm too lazy to re-open it (even though I have that power because I'm awesome), I'll ask here.
In "My Pokemon Ranch"... are you allowed to transfer Pokemon between different games? Like, say I put a Pokemon from Pearl Version on the ranch, would I be allowed to bring it over to Diamond? I would hope so because it's a kind of flawed storage system if not, but... I was hoping to pull something like that with Pokemon Stadium 2 but it didn't work. I tranfered all my Pokemon from Gold over to Stadium 2, hoping to bring them over to Silver, but it required that I have at least 150 Pokemon registered in my Pokedex before I could do that. Which seemed stupid. So I deleted my Gold version save, thinking I could trade them over to Silver, but they were stuck there until I caught a bunch more Pokemon...
tl;dr: "Would I be able to use My Pokemon Ranch as a way to trade without needing two DSs?"

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Re: Poke'mon Help
Unfortunately, no. While you can bring pokémon from multiple games into your ranch, you can only return them to the cartridge they originally came from. Which really sucks and is going to make filling out my dex in Heart Gold a lot more complicated and time consuming (I'll probably have to catch a zillion magikarp and then borrow my mom's DS). As far as I know, the only game that lets you easily move large numbers of pokémon between versions is Pokémon Box on the Gamecube. You can trade them between games with Colliseum too...but it's much slower than using Box. Unfortunately, Box only works with the GBA games. At this point, there's no easy way to move large numbers of Pokémon between DS games. I'm hoping Nintendo will release a Wii or DSi ware app for it, but there's no telling if they will or not.

Re: Poke'mon Help
I just use the GTS when I need a pokemon that I can't catch, then I offer a really hard pokemon or high level one, usually within a few days I get what I want...
Eg: Offer an abra holding something or a really strong (or shiny) anything.

Re: Poke'mon Help
I used the GTS to get a few pokémon (mostly stuff I couldn't catch in my version), but if you want to fill up the entire dex it still takes a whole lot of catching and evolving.
Re: Poke'mon Help
Other people on GTS are unreasonable. I want to get Skarmory or Teddiursa, exclusive to SoulSilver, and I see...
-1 request for Celibi
-2 requests for Deoxys
-2 Level 100 Rare Pokemon
-1 Of the same pokemon higher leveled.
But, if you want to get something, attach a King's Rock to your pokemon. It'll be taken fast.

Re: Poke'mon Help
I agree, there is even a VG cast comic on how unreasonable they are, but if you offer something that's only available on your version, it makes things a bit easier.
