...bah. I nostaliga'd and looked up the patch notes for Warhammer Online because it was the one that was supposed to bring the class I used to have as a main back from being widely renowned as the worst class in the game (weakest attacks and it's the only dual wielding class with 1 talisman slot, where EVERY other class gets 2. So you immediately have less stats than everyone else). So yeah, my class is now far, far stronger than it was, they fixed the talisman problem and everything else. But I'm not playing that game anymore, so I can't enjoy the good times without dropping another $15 I don't have to go spend some time I don't have playing a class I ended up hating.

Ah, the joys of Korean MMOs. Well MMOs in general, but Korean in particular.

I am mad at Guild Wars, because it seems like every time I'm really getting somewhere in one of the Missions (currently in the icy mountainous area) all of a sudden 10-15 enemies all group up when I'm killing 3 or 4 and decimate me. Mesmers were not made to take a beating

It's all about keeping an eye on the mini-map and not aggroing too many enemy groups at once. That, and making sure you have at least a couple melee fighters in your pary to try and keep the enemies away from the spell casters.

Yeah, but as a Me/E with stats (8+2)/9/6 in Fast Casting, Fire Magic, and Inspiration Magic respectively, it's difficult to pull guys off casters since I'm one too I mainly throw up Channeling, get right near some enemies, and spam Flare at 0.63s and virtually no mana cost, with some Fireballs and Fire Storms here and there. Right now I'm trying to do The Frost Gate, but I keep having trouble at the part for the Bonus mission, because there are 4 healers all in the same group. Tough stuff.

Since Flare is a ranged spell though, you'd be a lot safer staying at a short distance from the enemies, letting the warriors engage them first, and then shooting the from far enough away that they hopefully won't think to ignore the warriors and go for you.

Just wondering, but isn't this more like a video game discussion than a 'I'm mad at my game' thread? also, what game are you talking about? sounds fun, is it free? where do I download it?
I'm also trying out MapleStory, so-far the download has taken forever :-q O.o but it's almost done, thankfully.
and, finally...
I'm really looking for a good, free, mmorpg to play, does anyone know one that I can play, besides the following: Runescape, ClubPenguin, Webkinz, PokemonMMORPG.

Thanks Josiah, I'll try a more long range style, see if that helps. I'm gonna miss the constant energy intake though.

Talking tactics is a good way to relieve stress and anger towards a game, so technically it's still on topic.

This game is Guild Wars, you have to pay once for the game itself but it's free-to-play after that - and it's online. Right now they have a pretty nice deal where you get all 3 games (Prophecies $20, Factions $30, and Nightfall $30) for $50 - a $30 savings.

I tried MapleStory for a while, but it didn't really appeal to me. That and there were really high level characters farming every spawning point in the lowbie area, that in itself was a turnoff 'cause then you can't really level at all.

Runescape's pretty good, I got up to about level 80 back when I used to play.

well, MS is getting annoying, I installed it and its all done but needs to patch, I think, It does it automatically, well, I double click on the icon and it opens up like the news page, then I click the 'Play game' button, it loads 'HackShield' or something like that, then after it finishes loading that, it, like, just fails, nothing comes up, then a few seconds later, a 'pop-up' comes up and says this: We are unable to connect to the login server due to a server check a firewall block or other network issues. Please check the MapleStory homepage for ongoing server checks as well as your firewall settings' and Idk what to do, my dad is a computer scientist, so he taught me alot of stuff, I have my firewall off, completely, and it still doesn't work... anyone know what to do??? Oh, a I also went to the site and went to the FAQ's yea, they were more like FailAQ's.

Edit: I just went and connected directly to the router and it still says the same thing. help!!!

I played Maplestory. It got old really fast. Try Mabinogi. It's distinct from other MMOs. Most MMOs could be called WoW clones, but Mabinogi is very original, and more fun to play than any MMO I've seen.

Guild Wars: Haven't played it yet

Maplestory: Friends tell me it's not that good, won't bother playing it

Mabinogi: AWESOME AS (deleted)!! But too bad my computer won't load it. :(

Runescape: The only MMO I'm playing now, not very fun but it's a good game overall.
